Such a great title for any Catholic parent seeking stories about women of faith for their children to read. A short prayer accompanies the stories for each saint featured.

This book is really well laid out with some features on inspiring women of faith. I will admit that I am not religious but I did find the book interesting and the images are beautiful and a lovely feature of the book - 4 stars

The book did not meet my expectation. I The title is good and the illustrations are great but children should not be taught to pray to saints.

This beautifully illustrated book has very good stories of the famous women saints, and how they were strong in their faith. It is of Catholic and Orthodox traditions, therefore there are short prayers to the saints in the end of each story. Even if you do not pray to the saints, these are good examples of how people did not give up their faith in history and in difficult circumstances.

I have been drawn to a number of books outlining the strength and where appropriate the faith of women in times of political unrest, stress and conflict. I find it incredible when women's sufferage and equality are still not universally accepted across our modern world that women have had a role beyond childbirth and housework throughout history.
In women of faith, a book written for children; in a hope to educate grown-ups we have a record from the beginnings of church history and christianity in the British Isles of young girls and women who because of their faith and often martyrdom were later recognised as Saints.
Now whether you are a christian or of a Catholic or Orthodox persuasion it matters not too greatly; religious persecution still goes on sadly, as this is not a religious pamphlet.
This short book shows young women of mainly who stood up for what the believed in and were faithful in words and deeds. It is an example to all faiths and denominations who believe in a God who can make a difference in our world and above all else it promotes the values and strengths of women throughout the generations.
It will teach children about equality and respect for both sexes and make some sense of patron saints. Some may baulk at the prayers to saints but if this isn't your tradition the words are still just as needed to be prayed to your own God.
Beautifully illustrated with an exquisite watercolor portrait and like any good children's book promote thought and give understanding.

The stories of the various women saints are short but poignant. The illustrations are amazing and convey both serenity and fierceness. It would have been nice if there had been a few saints of color like Saint Kateri Tekakwitha or St. Felicitas and Perpetua, and modern day saints like Edith Stein.

It’s worth buying this just for the gorgeous illustrations which will make kids in awe of the beauty that will draw them into the stories full of virtuous heroes who used their lives to showcase their love and belief in Christ.

The simply written stories are easy to understand for the age level it’s geared towards and though the author was honest in her descriptions about martyrdom and their lives it’s still G rated so you don’t have to worry about nightmares ensuing.

The prayers included are also perfect for children and they’ll enjoy repeating them as they learn about the amazing women that have crossed history. Young girls in particular will find inspiration in the strong, courageous women that have paved the roads before them and carved out their own mark upon humanity.

The exquisite illustrations and content make this a fantastic gift for First Communion and other significant occasions.
