The Map to You is a good fit for readers looking for a heartwarming and emotional story about two individuals finding understanding, acceptance, and love while on a road trip together.

This book wasn't really for me. It had a good plot and decent characters but moved too slowly and there was too much description in the beginning and I got lost in it.

I loved this book and thought that it could be read for all ages over sixteen. It was absolutely darling. I have every single book by this author and her writing keeps getting better and evolving.

I have been waiting so long for this book and I was so happy to finally get to dive in. Blake has always held a special place in my heart since I first met him in Roomies and this book did not disappoint. Although it was a bit of a slow starter for me this go round, I really loved how it played out for them.

Well written and an enjoyable story. I really enjoyed reading this book and look forward to reading more by this author.

After reading Roomies, I was looking forward to reading The Map to You to get a story from Blake's perspective. It was a nice surprise that this book also had dual narration so we got to know Opal, the female lead, better too.

I liked that bits and pieces of both Blake and Opal's story were revealed throughout the book instead of at the very beginning. It really gives the reader a chance to empathize with them and to understand what has brought them to this point in their lives.

A nice companion novel, if you enjoyed Roomies you will like this book too!

Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for providing an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

Every now and then I like to reach outside of my comfort zone and read something fun and cute. Having read Roomies by Zart, I had to read this one since it's a standalone sequel. The Map to You fits the bill perfectly! I loved Blake and Opal (though I'm biased when it comes to the name Opal... it's my birthstone!) Their initial encounter is less "meet cute" and more "meet strange." I think If I found a random person sleeping in my car that I'd flip out, and not in a good way.

The Map to You is a wonderful romance full of humor, with a dose of angst, and a deserving ending. I thoroughly enjoyed it. ****4 stars****

I was sent this book through NetGalley. My ratings and reviews will be my own personal opinions and are in no way influenced by publishers or authors who may have sent me books to review.

This starts off with Blake and Opal meeting in a unique way, which I loved. They then set off for a road trip to discover themselves and each other. Both characters are dealing with some serious issues from their pasts. These issues bring an emotional twist to the story.

This did start off a little slow for me. The characters meet and are both pretty suspicious to one another. You do not find out much about their pasts/stories right away. I think you can either love that or hate it. I lean more on wanting to know earlier.

The romance was quick moving. The characters meet, seem to be hesitant of each other, and then love each other. It was very quick and I would have liked to see some more development in the relationship.

Overall, I enjoyed the plot and the characters and thought this was pretty good.

This was a wonderful read I really enjoyed this book.I really did not like Blake in Roomies he was a horrible character this book explains why he is the way he is and you will find your heart breaking for him at times and for Opal too. Both him and Opal are seriously damaged and while he tends to wallow in the darkness she is more sweetness and light but no less messed up.This was a super read it was really well written and Lindy did a fantastic job of dealing with hard subjects.I would recommend to all.

10+++ stars! Blake & Opal's story is full of heart and humor, and also some heartache. All of it is wonderfully told and an absolute joy to read! I was sucked in from the beginning & didn't want to put it down.

I had some trouble getting into & connecting w/ Kennedy & Graham in Roomies, and wasn't such a big Blake fan in that story, either. But something about him tugged at my heart, and I was SUPER excited that he was getting his own story!

He's broody on the outside, but a big ol' softie on the inside, and Opal is absolutely perfect for him. She makes him smile, and laugh, and cracks open the heart he thinks he doesn't have. She is feisty & spunky & sassy & I adore her! This story has found it's way to my top reads of the year!! : )

The Map To You by Lindy Zart is simply phenomenal. Blake and Opal’s story might be my favorite out of all of Lindy Zart’s books. I know I say this about every character that she writes. Lindy Zart has a way of writing perfectly flawed characters. They know that they are flawed, but yet they still keep going. I always feel a connection with her characters.

Blake’s personal story was heartbreaking. Opal’s story was just as heartbreaking. Lindy Zart tackled the serious issues with seriousness and with a twist of humor. Throughout their story, you get to see their character growth individually and together. This is why I am a huge fan of Lindy Zart. She knows how to make you cry with one paragraph, and with the next you’re smiling. Thank you Lindy Zart for being an amazing writer.

The dialogue was on point. The drama was on point. The dynamics between Opal and Blake was amazing. The secondary characters added oomph to the story. I will be recommending this story to everyone. I give it 5/5 Platypires.

Lindy Zart delivers all the feels with Blake and Opal’s story in The Map to You. This unlikely duo will have you falling head over heels with their witty banter and electric chemistry. They broke my heart and made it soar, reminding me of the strength and beauty that can be born of a painful past. This book was an adventure from beginning to end and I enjoyed every moment of the sweet, sassy, and steamy ride. Blake and Opal are unlike any book couple I’ve met before and I adored every twist and turn of their journey.

Blake was so different than the man I first met in Roomies. He definitely had his cocky, flirtatious moments, but Blake proved to be so much more than I ever could have expected. Lindy Zart expertly developed this character over the course of the story, utilizing his relationship with Opal to bring out a more serious and compassionate side to Blake that made my heart ache. There was also an unexpected depth and raw vulnerability to this hero that made him utterly swoon-worthy.

Opal was equally intriguing, captivating me with her quirky personality and impulsive behavior from the very first page. As surprising as she was endearing, I really enjoyed getting to know this heroine. She was a puzzle, I definitely wanted to solve and I loved how she both frustrated and enthralled Blake. I would have liked to dive a little deeper with Opal, get a better idea of her past and where she came from in order to really connect with her, but overall, her insecurities and fears allowed me to relate to her and I had fun losing myself in such a unique and vibrant personality.

An emotional rollercoaster from start to finish, The Map to You kept me guessing. Lindy Zart’s writing was colorful and overflowing with genuine feeling. I love that this author isn’t afraid to tackle the tough stuff and I found myself desperately rooting for Blake and Opal to find their way through everything their lives had thrown at them, together. Roomies fans will be thrilled to see more of Kennedy and Graham in this book, too. Getting to touch base with this adorable couple was icing on the cake. Lindy Zart serves up another satisfying, memorable, and one-of-a-kind romance with The Map to You!

Lindy Zart is an author I have wanted to check out forever, so I was extremely excited to get my hands on this upcoming release. Unfortunately, I wasn't able to connect with it at all. I think maybe it would have been advantageous to have read the first book (Roomies) because, while I think the intent is that this is a standalone, I felt like I was missing some important things about Blake that kept me from understanding him and definitely made me impatient with him.

I also struggle with storylines that revolve around lying. It is hard for me to invest in a romance when I don't trust either character. When the main focus of the banter is around whether or not the person is being real or not - I have a really hard time engaging with that. In the end, I did lose patience and didn't feel connected enough to either Blake or Opal to push through. DNF for me at 40%.

I sincerely appreciate the opportunity to read and review. Unfortunately, this one just was not for me.

OMG! This was so amazing! Heart breaking, shattering really but so so beautiful!

Zart slowly sneaked her way into my heart, then bit by bit dismantled it until it was a shattered mess on the floor. Then she went about to put it back together again, she added a little joy, quirk and a whole lot of hope to it. My heart sores.

I think this is one of the most touching books I read in 2017. Even if at first glance it just looks like a quirky, off-beat romance, somehow it was much more, for me at least.

Blake , who we met in Roomies, is a perfectly flawed male lead. He seems like a tough, difficult guy at first, but quickly we get to discover he is really generous. I could totally relate to Blake and loved his POV. Not because I had any kind of issues that he faced growing up, but because I got his bond with his grandfather and I can relate to the feeling down. Also let's face it I am "mrs. sunshine" lol. Grumpy and scary to approach at first, but a big old marshmallow if you dare to overlook it. I got his fears and his struggles, felt his worries and hopes. One of the best male leads I had the pleasure to read in a long long time
Opal is quirky and off beat. Again extremely well written. It took me a bit longer to relate to her. Partly because she was so mysterious about stuff, partly because she is rather opposite to me. A beautifully strong female lead, with passion and talent I could only dream of. I was awed by her braveness and heartbroken over her lostness. (is that even a word?) Her tendencies to spin stories was kinda off putting - as a character trait- but I found it beyond entertaining.
The support cast is brilliant. Vibrant characters that set off the lead. It was really fun to see Graham and Kennedy from Blakes POV. And let me tell you, they so different from how I remember them. I love how Zart made them look fluffy and slightly wacko in Blake's eyes. I love even more how he ends up admitting, that they are quirky but not completly insane. With that one gets to see the Graham and Kennedy I grew to love in Roomies.
Now let me assure you, while this is a spin-off from Roomies, you don't have to read it. This works perfectly as a stand-alone. If you however read Roomies; this isn't another take of it. It is much darker and has little to do with Roomies- other than, the writing style and humor.

This is written beautifully. So many interesting moments of insight. So many moments that made me laugh, plenty of moments that seared themselves into my heart. All wrapped up in Zart's fun to the point writing style. I am definitely a fan of Zart's prose. So poignant yet easy going. I can't wait for her next book!

About 3/4 of the plot is set only over a few days. So this is kinda super fast. But funny enough it's not totally insta. I got the connection between Opal and Blake, it made sense. Perfectly so. Though I wish Zart would have explored their chemistry a little more.
I absolutely love the end. L.O.V.E it. It's kinda open-ended, but not. It is at a point of beginning, the end of a chapter. Just.. sigh. Love it.
The banter between Blake and Opal is another favorite about the book.

All of this is fun. But the thing I loved most? The underlying message.
The characters are flawed. They are even pretty broken. They have a terrible past. But they make peace with it. Even more they work towards who they want to be. They hope.
And that's what growing up is for me. Letting go of the past, letting go of what everyone expects from you and decided what or who you want to be. Moving towards that step by step, driven by hope and helped by loved ones.
It is the most exciting view of life if you ask me. The most hopeful. To be who you want to be, for yourself. Taking that leap and that responsibility that's adulting, if you ask me, not paying your bills.
It gives one an unlimited amount of possibilities and the acceptance of who you are. Facing yourself, will make you face, what you were in your past. Examining your demons- whatever they are and most importantly gives us the power to letting go of them. It has been one of the most crucial discovery in my adulthood and Zart putting it into novel form, touched my heart.

This book was surprisingly deep. Blake and Opal have both suffered a lot through life, and it proves that it’s possible to move on to a future full of dreams, no matter your background. I loved it.

Blake was a mess in Roomies, the misunderstood half brother of Graham. He was charming, troubled, quirky and alone. A random meeting has Opal joining him on a trip home. A personal journey that meant something to both of them and changed their future. This was a very enjoyable read, never once did I get bored, it's humorous and heartbreaking, though short-lived. Each Malone brother has their own book but could easily be read without the other. Wonderfully told as Zart is a talented storyteller. I was lucky to receive an early copy through Netgalley.

This was my first Lindy Zart book but I do not think it will be my last. I enjoy a good road trip book, I will say that this story felt like it started in the middle for me but overall it doesn’t disappoint. I found Opal interesting and mysterious but she is mostly lies for a time making it harder to really like her as a character. Blake is better that most would be when put in the same situation and you definitely notice his growth throughout the story. Together they are banter, an adorable circus scene, and sometimes-good intentions in not great situations. I really like that even though things move rather quickly initially that in the end things have progressed for both Opal and Blake. For me this was a solid and likable story.

This story was different from your standard romance. Both the H and h have their own emotional problems. But chance has thrown them together and they gradually come to be friends and then lovers. But things aren’t resolved right away and Zart provides a somewhat leisurely exploration of their characters through alternating narrations from each person’s point of view.

The hero, Blake, finds a sprite of a girl sleeping in his truck. Opal is fleeing town for some undisclosed reason that we don’t find out until about ⅔ of the way of the book. We also gradually find out what problems Blake has faced in his past and is trying to rise above. He’s damaged and not looking for romance or much of anything except making it through the day. Opal, on the other hand, has learned to seize joy from little moments that surprise her. Together they can find themselves and find their way to fulfillment. It really was a sweet read that felt a lot more realistic than many romance where the guy is some Alpha hunk unlike anyone we might meet in real life. The only departure from reality that really stuck out is how Blake is living. He doesn’t seem to have a job, yet he is planning to fulfill his grandfather’s dream and has money to spend and time to volunteer. It bothered me a bit that that wasn’t cleared up.

I was given a free ARC of this book from Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.

This was such a good story so full of emotion, heartbreak and love. I really enjoyed it!
For one seemingly so flawed, Blake is just so lovable. I couldn't help but just want and hope for the very best for him to finally find happiness and contentment.
Opal has the ability to be/do that for him. Even though she has baggage of her own she shines like the sun and brings that to her relationship with Blake. He needs her light. I love them together! They get along so well and have incredible chemistry.
This is my first Lindy Zart book and it won't be my last. She is such a gifted storyteller.
