I was so happy when I found out I got my NetGalley petition accepted! Roomies is one if my favourite books ever, so my expectations were high. Aaaaand that was the problem. I went in expenting a Roomies II kind of book.

Don't get me wrong, The map to you was good, but a little darker. We get to know the stepbrother, and a girl who tries to steal his car.-Yes, you read right-. Anyway, except for that irrealistic to the max point, the relationship development was interesting and I grew to root for them.

My favourite thing about this book was the fact they are both hilarious and sarcastic, so I highly
recommend it.

Thank you so much! I LOVED Roomies! I have gifted copies, have a kindle copy, and my own signed copy so I KNEW I wanted to read Blake's story! If you haven't read Roomies, it is okay, you will not be confused or lost in this story as it is a spinoff for a character in that story!

Lindy Zart is a talented author who can incorporate both humor and serious situations into a story to lighten the mood when needed! I loved the dual POV and I liked both Blake and Opal as MC's! I thought they had a great chemistry and the story had me happy, sad, and everything in between! I can't wait to read more from this talented author!

An enjoyable read with great characters, with lots of baggage – in the beginning, I loved the brooding hero (“Like a dark, imperfect, savage angel”, quote from ARC), but then he became more explicit (and less appealing); as for the heroine, I really appreciated her integrity and selfishness. I felt that in the second part their narrative voices became quite similar (the story is told in dual first-person point of view).
Some very serious issues are depicted and handled in the story. Was the resolution too easy?
I found that the dialogue, in the second half, was sometimes a bit stilted.
I liked the sense of ephemeral both characters share and later overcome, of course, in their beautiful and emotional reunion.

I just want to begin by saying wow because this beauty absolutely blew me away. My emotions are all over the damn place and yeah, wow!

Blake’s character is one of the most perfectly imperfect characters I’ve ever had the honour of reading. His character is flawed but you can’t help but love him. Growing up with an awful situation had him second guessing himself and feeling like he was nothing but he’s so much more that ‘nothing’ he’s a strong man battling his demons and although heartbreaking it’s interesting to see.

Opal’s character was just as interesting growing up in the system moving from different homes a lot has a huge affect on her and it’s easy to spot when the character comes to life in the book. She’s fierce and strong and sees the good in everything, she’s like a breath of fresh air and her being is absolutely refreshing in this book.

Blake and Opal together is down right funny, their banter made me laugh a lot and I love that about them. They easily get along with each other understanding what the other is feeling most of the time. I love that they pushed each other. Their chemistry is out of this world and I was hoping from the beginning they’d be each other’s saviours.

I think Lindy did an incredible job with the depression/suicide storyline, she hit all the right points and I couldn’t be more amazed.

This book is about two people who’ve suffered terrible ordeals in life. Two people who are throw together and soon understand each other a little and become friends. It’s about finding ones self and forgiveness and it’s a whole rollercoaster of emotions whilst they do so.

Lindy Zart is an incredibly talented author who brings the story to life with her words. You can’t help but get lost on her words and feel like you’re experiencing the ride with them. If I could give this one more than 5 Stars I would, it deserves so much more.

Wasn’t sure if I was going to finish the novel to be honest. Was quite bored midway through. The story dragged and the characters were lacklustre. Ended up finishing the novel but, not my cup of tea.

The map to you is a very interesting story between two very broken people. They both have a lot of baggage from past. But the difference is that Black is still caught up in the dark when Opal is a ray of sunshine and although her life was and still is hard she can find something good in all the bad. Black and Opal meet in very strange unusual circumstance and although their first interaction can be their last they end up traveling together. On the road, they start to reveal a little bit of their true self and past and in the way is liberating especially for Black. I liked both of them they were unique in their way. All the past and previous decision had led them to who they are today and what I see is two good persons with a caring heart. Unusual but a great read.

4.5 stars!

This book a perfect second chance story for each of the characters. I absolutely loved these flawed, but perfect characters. I love how Blake and Opal met and enjoyed every moment of their journey together. This book has all the feels and was a pleasure to read!

I should preface this review by saying that Roomies is one of my favorite go to books when I need a pick me up. The Map to You is a spin-off for Blake from Roomies and I was thrilled to hear that his story would be continued. Roomies is a lighthearted rom-com, whereas The Map to You is a little heavier. If you have ever read any of Lindy's other books, you know she doesn't shy away from hard topics and this book delves into some emotional stuff with some trademark Zart humor along the way.

The book follows 2 MC's, Blake and Opal. I really liked Blake but probably because I had gotten to know him before. I think one of my issues with having 2 MC's is that I felt I never got the full story from both of them. As soon as a conflict arose, it seemed quickly fixed, and I think that happens sometimes when there is so much to cover with 2 MC's. Opal was funny and I think her optimism was a great counterpoint for Blake. I just wish the book went a little deeper into their backstories.

This book, for me, was extremely successful in its moments of levity. When I think back to my favorite scenes, they were the ones where I laughed out loud. I loved some of the quick wit and dialogue between Opal and Blake. I wish there had been more!

Overall, I really liked the book. I would recommend reading Roomies first, only so you get a better sense of Blake's back story before jumping into this one, but you don't have to.

**3.75 Stars**

Roomies is one of my all time favorite books, so I have been looking forward to Blake's book for a long time.

Let me preface this by saying that this book has a completely different feel from Roomies. Roomies is light, airy, and hilarious. This book, while it has it's funny moments, is a little bit darker and more serious so do not go into this book expecting a Roomies re-do.

Blake was exactly what I was expecting his character to be. He was outwardly brooding while inside he was nothing but a softie. He had his demons and he was doing his best to overcome them. Honestly, between him and Opal, he definitely grew the most. He has always been and still is one of my favorite male characters in a book.

Opal was a pretty good character. She was definitely out there, but I feel like I didn't get enough information on her. She lied a lot and she told the truth minimally. I felt like I almost got to know who she was deep down, but not entirely. I wanted more emotion from her because, on one hand, she acts like she had this terribly lonely upbringing, but then on the other hand she makes it out like she met all these amazing people. Not that you can't meet a lot of people and be lonely, but the way she spoke about them made it seem like she wasn't. Could just be a case of misinterpretation.

On to the negative. I felt like everything happened very quickly. I think this book would have benefited from another 100 pages of detail. They meet and are annoyed with each other for about 24-36 hours and then they are all over each other without warning. I think the build up is an important process to romance books and this one was lacking in it a bit. It was hard to buy into their chemistry when it seemed like it came on so suddenly.

Overall though, I definitely recommend this book. It's a mostly fun (very) quick read and if you liked Blake in Roomies, you will still love him in this one.

The Map to You is a beautiful story that grabs at your heart and doesn't let go until the end. Lindy Zart has such a talent for writing these emotionally charged stories!

This is a spin-off of her Rommies series, but it can definitely be read as a standalone book. We do however recommend reading Rommies first, because Blake is amazing!

Lindy Zart always writes beautiful stories with a lot of heart. Her novels progress at a nice steady pace giving the reader just what we need for the storyline to develop. Her books give you tears as well as laughter. The Map To You follows the pattern perfectly.

The main characters, Blake and Opal, happen on an unlikely road trip. It turns into quite the adventure where both try to find themselves and overcome their demons. They are both on this unconventional journey to find their "home" or rightful place in the vast world. As feelings flare, what will happen when they must part ways?

This is the much anticipated Roomies spin off. The Map To You can completely stand alone. But for those already familiar with Blake and his history, you will not want to miss this one. I would recommend reading Roomies first just because I loved that book as well but you do not need to in order to read this one.

Overall, another great novel from Lindy Zart tackling some tough topics with tact and tenacity.

NOT AT ALL WHAT I WAS EXPECTING!!! There aren't many books that can make you laugh through the tears, but this is one! Opal was as annoying as she was endearing and Blake was as angsty as he was redeeming. Really enjoyed this one.

Beautiful with a lot of heart and emotions. Opal and Blake are wonderfully real. They meet in an unconventional way that takes them on an adventure. An Adventure with both trying to find themselves. Both trying to overcome inner demons. Neither expected to find their home in each other. I love how Opal and Blake feed off each other and push each other to become better. The growth that Blake and Opal go through is amazing. A wonderful read by Lindy Zart that is so worth the one click.

4.5 Stars!!!!

I have read some of Lindy Zart's books before and loved them!!! I was so excited to dive into The Map To You and let me say it was fantastic!! From the book cover, I thought this book was going to be on the sweet/cute side, and although it definitely had it's sweet moments, this novel was way, way more than that!

The last thing Blake expected to see when he got into his truck after he made a food stop at a gas station was a sleeping women!!! After waking her up, Blake saw the desperation in her eyes and offered to let her join him. As the two make their trek they eventually get to know each other and after many made-up stories/names, Blake's travel partner finally tells him her real name...Opal!! Blake and Opal were both going through a lot in their lives when they serendipitously met and the more miles they travel together and the more experiences they share, the harder it will be to part!! Is this friendship/relationship the real deal?!?? Will they be able to go their separate ways??!? Ohhhhhh my!!!!

This novel had so much depth--loved that!!! I was immediately drawn into Opal and Blake's lives and I was so eager to find out how everything would end up! Lindy Zart did such a great job with character development that I felt like I actually knew Opal and Blake. I was surprised by some twist and turns which added so much to the storyline. The Map To You is a 4.5 star read and I enjoyed it so much I already see a re-read in my near future!! Go check out this awesome book!!!
