* I was given this book as a Arc by the Author and Netgalley for an honest review*

While the story started slow for me but then sucked me in. After hearing about a sabotage plan for Big Moutain Lumber Company, Beth decides the best way to catch the saboteur is to dress up as a man and work the lumber yard. Beth had a lot of character development and I really enjoyed that. Very well written story of mystery and love.

Actually 3 1/2 stars. I enjoyed Beth, Garrett, and the secondary characters like Aunt June and Carrie. I found the story slowed at times when it got technical about the logging industry. Beth is courageous and yet soft at times, and I loved this. Garrett is brusque at times, but very much a caring man when it comes to those around him. The entire storyline is a great one. I just could have used a little less detail on the lumber process. I am looking forward to the next story, and hopefully, it will be Simon's story.

I received a copy of this story through Netgalley, and this is my unsolicited review.

This was my first book I have read by Dawn Luedecke and I must say that I rather enjoyed it. Historical fiction is not my first choice in a genre to read, but I am rapidly becoming a fan. It was fascinating to read about an industry that I know nothing about.

White Water Passion follows the story of Elizabeth Sanders and her foray to save the Big Mountain Lumber Mill in her town of Montana. Elizabeth goes undercover and poses as a male timberman to unearth the saboteur of the company, along with her brother Simon and his best friend Garrett. I did find the idea of a woman posing as a man in the logging industry a bit far-fetched, as I can't imagine that someone wouldn't notice her feminine stature or voice, but I digress.

The story had intrigue, drama, and a bit of romance all mixed together to keep the read entertaining and engaging. I look forward to reading more books in this series as well as others by Dawn.

This is a voluntary review of an advanced copy.

While I enjoyed the suspense and mystery of trying to find out who was sabotaging the logging company, there were parts of the story that annoyed me. I do think that Beth dressing as a man and trying to fool a bunch of men was hard to believe. There were times when she just could not keep her emotions under control and it would be very evident that she was not a man!

I also was annoyed that Garrett was willing to turn his back on love and marry an heiress that his father chose because he could not fathom living life as a regular (poor) person. Also, for that time period, a man that would "bed" a virgin and then not marry her was a despicable person, so I struggled to like him especially when he would sleep with Beth then tell her that he was marrying Vanessa and their time together was ending soon. I guess that doesn't say much for Beth to be treated like a mistress in that situation, but overall it was a good read. I did really like the ending but not sure if it was wise for Garrett to use Vanessa in his HEA!

The historical and logging information was done well and made the book interesting. I also liked the set up for the next book as I want to read more about Simon and Carrie.
