This was the true story of the author's exploits of being a hacker and coming to New York to meet a woman he met online (insert every flag here). It was a pretty good read, especially for those that are truly aware of the bad things that we, as humans, get into and what we're willing to do for loving the wrong person. It was a pretty good book that I read rather quickly. I highly recommend.

Bad Choices Make Good Stories is told by a German hacker named Oliver and growing up and breaking all sorts of laws and then meeting a girl in New York and ending up moving there to be with her.

The book is supposed to be based on true events, but it really seems that a lot of the stories are embellished to create more dramatic and better stories.  I don't see how one person could truly get in that much trouble and sticky situations!

After getting past the point where I decided the book was a bit fabricated, it was still somewhat interesting, although I don't think I will be reading any further books (I believe there is at least a second one)

I received a free e-copy of this book in order to write this review, I was not otherwise compensated.

I had to DNF the book which I rarely do. Flat prose, with a superior teen boy attitude is nothing I usually read but may be right for someone else.

The story in itself is interesting and was curious about it, but the pace was too slow and there were too many details that only added to the flow without too much new information. For me, it was too much dairy style, instead of just writing a good story with a great potential.

Oh boy.

It is hard to review this book when I kind of really disliked the protagonist. It is even harder to be impartial when the main character is a real life person. Sorry Oliver Markus Black.

Throughout the stories Markus Black seems to celebrate some the most seediest parts of his life and when things don’t necessarily go his way he paints himself as the victim.

His stories became tedious to read because they were so egocentric and I rapidly became bored with his vapid tales.

Bad Choices Make Good Stories may be the title of the book but it wasn’t that interesting to me.
