I'm not sure what happened but the ARC I received from NetGalley did not include any words, just pictures. Had there been words to go with the pictures, I could have given more stars.

It's been awhile since I have seen a book that looks at classic nursery rhymes. They seem to be forgotten. This book hopefully helps these tales make a resurgence. While I knew most of the rhymes, there were some new one which was nice. Some of the nursery rhymes have more stanzas then are listed and I wished they had included them all.

The illustrations in this book are sweet and very kid-friendly. The colour pallet is soothing and calm and toddlers and wee learners will gobble them up.
The collection of nursery rhymes that Mullen has selected to illustrate features such classics as Humpty Dumpty, Little Miss Muffet, The Little Girl with a Curl, Jack and Jill, Three Blind Mice, To Market, and Baa Baa Black Sheep, just to name a few. She cleverly includes some less known ones for both you and your child to learn off by heart... and that is where this rhyming fun will nestle... in your heart probably for your entire lifetime.
This book is one that your child will go back to again and again as the tripping-off-the-tongue language flows off his tongue.

I wasn't able to read the download. I only saw the cute pictures of many of my favorite rhymes. I was looking forward to reading this to my class, but couldn't get it to give my any text!

Large and bright illustrations for toddlers. Interesting rhyme collections

Large drawings frame classic stories, like The Cat and the Fiddle; seeing a cat holding a violin is not nearly as unusual as I thought it would be. Others include a nattily depressed but dour Humpty before the fall, Little Miss Muffet, Three Blind Mice, and so on. These are the original versions of the stories; can’t help but picture a child asking, “Why did the old woman who lived in a shoe whip the kids before sending them to bed?” And did the pumpkin-eater kidnap his wife and hold her captive?
The artwork is drawn in childish exaggeration, but not so much that you can’t tell how it fits in the story. Some of the rhymes were unknown to me; perhaps they were selected for visual appeal.

A modern-illustrated version of public domain Mother Goose nursery rhymes. We prefer the vintage classic versions but children who are unfamiliar with these time-honored rhymes may enjoy this offering.

This take on Mother Goose Nursery Rhymes includes really cute illustrations, perfect for babies and toddlers. The rhymes include common favorites as well as a few lesser known poems. It is a cute addition to any nursery library!

About half of these were ones I hadn't heard before. I'm not sure who this book is targeted too as the rhymes seem older slanted but the illustrations are clearly for younger kids.

I loved the illustrations in this book. They were so original. And maybe I'm just not as well-read when it comes to Mother Goose nursery rhymes as I thought I was but some of these rhymes were a bit odd. Not ones I remember when I was little. The book held my 3 year old's attention for awhile but he seemed bored by some of the nursery rhymes, as well. The illustrations I would give 5 stars to, though. Adorable!

New lovely illustrations on some great nursery rhyme classics

kids will love to read the rhymes from this book.........

The start of this book was really good and I thought that it was definitely going to be a 5 star read but then some of the nursery rhymes seemed to be cut down, the only reason I can see is so that they fit better on the pages and in with the layout for the book which is a shame, I liked the images, they were cute but can't give it any more than 3 stars.

Cute book of nursery rhymes with bright illustrations that young children are sure to enjoy. Most of the rhymes were familiar to me and would be fun to share with our boys. If I have any complaints about the book it is the lack of multiple illustrations per rhyme. My favorite nursery rhyme books as a child had one rhyme per page, but would depict two or three scenes from the rhyme to support the language used and story told. I find that to be a big help in teaching children words, context and early literacy skills.

I love the idea behind this book, favourite nursery rhymes paired with toddler-friendly illustrations, however I don't the concept really worked for me. With one whole nursery rhyme to each image, there wasn't enough visual imagery to complement the rhymes. So much could have been done with these, if perhaps there had been three or four illustrations per rhyme. Additionally I found the pictures to be quite difficult to see, possibly due to the lack of outlines to the shapes and no white space. For tots learning words and shapes, it might have been more helpful to have much clearer images.
