Love touches us amidst chaos, in ways we never thought existed. Oliver, a war veteran is haunted by his past- an abusive father and a dead fiancee. Broken into a million pieces, Oliver immerses himself in his work- a security firm whose current assignment is to find Fallyn Blackwood and her daughter and safely return them to their family. Buy Fallyn Blackwood is being hunted, by her husband- a sadist, who only wants revenge. Over the duration of 5 years, Fallyn has mastered the art of hiding. But when Oliver finds her in a diner, all he can think of is her, and he realizes that he is falling in love with Fallyn. But the threat exists and Oliver decides to protect Fallyn, no matter what.

The affairs of the heart have been beautifully written and its a celebration, the way Fallyn and Oliver find themselves in each other. It’s all about emotions and the primal need to protect the one person we all believe deserves the world. Oliver has been written as a handsome hunk, and Fallyn is a ferocious yet sensitive woman. The plot intensifies only at the end and it has been hastily written. But well, every villain deserves a punishment, that’s how fairy tales are.

A very relaxing and sensuous plot, a great escape.

This is the first book I've read from F.G. Adams.

I saw the cover and then I read the blurb. I just knew I needed to read it.

I loved it from start to finish and I just loved the characters xx

I really wanted to like the book Oliver, but I had a heard time getting into the story.

I haven't read the first two books in the series. As a standalone, this book doesn't make complete sense or provide the whole picture. It's best to probably read the other books first.

I liked how feisty Harper, Fallyn's daughter, could be. I also liked the humor Lucas provided.

But for the main characters, I couldn't get that into their personalities.

The story is one where I would prefer to just skip to the end and read to find out what happens or just not read all together.

Oliver is the third title in the This is Our Life series, but can easily be read as a standalone. It's an incredibly well written, emotion filled romantic suspense, with elements of intrigue, suspense and action.

Oliver Bishop is a survivor. He's a strong, determined, bad-ass alpha, but also incredibly loyal, loving and caring.

Fallyn Blackwood is running to escape her past. She's an incredibly devoted mother, protective and strong. Trust isn't something that she gives easily, especially to those of the opposite sex.

This is a story of moving on from the past, trusting and believing in the healing power of love.

I thoroughly enjoyed this moving title, and look forward to reading the remaining titles in the series.

Enjoyable read, I found it a little confusing as to who’s point of view I was reading, but very interesting story poor Fallyn not sure how she survived so much without going crazy.

When you have given up on love but somehow the picture of a young woman and the quest to find and protect her become the center of your world, how far would you go to protect her?

When Fallyn and Oliver's paths finally cross, Oliver will do everything to keep her safe and bring her back to her family, even when he has to fight a madman for her. Surviving her stalker and his unwanted attentions - well, nobody ever said that life was a Sunday school picnic, right?

This story is not only about arms and resilience but also about trust - and love, of course,
With her stalker getting closer and closer and her daughter being in danger as well, Fallyn will have to take that proverbial leap of faith and simply trust Oliver and his team. And Oliver, well, the question is not if he will be able to keep her safe because he will make sure that he does but whether he will be able to let her go in the end. And if not, is there a future for two people who have been badly hurt and who already lost everything once? When love is the light in their night, there might be a chance for the two, won't there?

Action, love, romance and a good storyline make this book an amazing read. I really enjoyed reading it and couldn't put the book down once I had started it. I can recommend this book!

I loved the story of Oliver, Fallyn and Harper. Fallyn and Harper are running from a mad man of the past who just won't let go. Oliver steps in and is their savior. Its a real page turner.

This story is about two people who fate will bring together for their souls to collide.

Oliver is an alpha male, tattooed, rides a Harley and is a member of Trident Security. Fallyn has been running since she was sixteen, her abusive ex Roman is chasing her and he will stop at nothing to get to Fallyn and her daughter Harper.

Oliver has been trying to find her and her daughter but every time he gets close to them, they disappear. When he finally catches up to them, the stars align and both find themselves drawn to each other. Fallyn is fighting the attraction but Oliver is persistent. Can Oliver keep them safe and help Fallyn to piece her heart back together again? Oliver will also need help to get over his own heartache.

A beautiful story about second chances. Oliver is perfect, how can you not fall in love with him. The story-line and characters were beautifully written. Enjoy this great read!

First time reading this author but I loved the story line! Would have liked to go back to the beginning of the series to see everyone else get their HEA. Loved the setting and the strong Heroine. Perfect amount of suspense and romance.

Easy to recommend this one to others. Great read!

received copy for review
This is book 3 of a series. It was stated that it could be read as a stand alone. That is true but I felt like I was missing some things. In the beginning the referenced a few things that I was clueless about. Once the story gets going you can catch up and it becomes the Oliver and Fallyn story. But for me you probably should read the other books first. Oliver experienced a devastating loss 6 years ago. He had to pull himself out of a dark place. Finding a picture of a young woman needing help gives his life a new meaning. He begins a mission that will be both frustrating and fulfilling. Fallyn is on the run from a psycho. She has her daughter to protect and she has been running for 14 years. Any decision she makes will effect her and her daughter's life. It was hard for me to actually get into the story because I felt like I needed more information. The back and forth POvs didn't help and was a little repetitive.

I received this book from Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.
So I would give this 2 1/2 stars.
This is a new to me author. When I received this book I hadn't realized it was the 3rd in a series. I think maybe I might have enjoyed it more if I had read the first two books. So maybe my review isn't that fair. Having said that, I thought the story was okay but I wasn't crazy about it. It was boring at times and the different POVs ended up saying much of the same thing as opposed to giving me any new information or perspective.
It was quite a way into the book before I even knew why Oliver was looking for Fallyn and before that I had no idea who she is or why he cares so much to find her.
Unfortunately I don't think I will read the other books because this one fell so flat for me.

This book is the 3rd in a series and while it does not say whether it is a standalone, I think you absolutely need to read the other books in this series or at least the second book.

The main issue I had is that I almost felt lost as to who Fallyn was. In the beginning I actually thought she was Taylor. All we know is Oliver is "hunting" Fallyn who has been missing for years. But what's missing from this book is who Fallyn is to him and why he's chasing her. Eventually it all comes out but this is literally more than half way through the book.

The other issue is the chapters often repeat themselves. So you read one chapter from Oliver's POV but then the first half of the next chapter is about what happened in the previous chapter but from Fallyn's POV. This is the case several times throughout the book. It's annoying and really can just be skimmed over.

The constant inner dialogue was a huge drawback. It got boring and repetitive at times.

This was my first book by this author.

I'm a bit on the fence with this one for a couple of reasons. First, I liked the characters of Oliver, Fallyn, and Harper a lot. However, I felt like the dialogue and interactions between Ollie and Fallyn were a little ridiculous, even childish, at times. It grated on my nerves to the point that I found myself skimming parts of the story instead of being engaged throughout. Second, this is touted as a standalone, but I most definitely disagree with that. For this to be a standalone, readers need more background into who Oliver is, what he does for a living, and why he's looking for Fallyn and Harper. Those pieces slowly trickle into the story, but they needed to be there from the start. I had an overwhelming sense that I was missing parts of the story that were vital in order for me to be completely engaged. I guess this one just wasn't for me.

Sigh. This was not my weekend for romantic reads. First off, while I believe this can be read as a standalone, it would be best if the previous books in the series were read first. I haven't read them and because of this felt I was missing some key pieces.

I am so over the cliched tropes of heroes and heroines that are out there in the romance world. I want something new and fresh, not the same old larger than life hero (muscular, tall, tattooed, broken from a past love, etc, etc). Yes, we all love the alpha male, but he's not a one character fits all archetype. And insta-love is too overdone for my tastes. I want a slow burn.
