Did not finish due to writing style - just not for me, unfortunately. Likely just fine for other readers.

Ironically, this book might be best for people who aren't fans of the podcast. With enough stories straight from the series, I had trouble reading this without it feeling repetitive.

Both established fans and readers who have never heard of Aaron Mahnke’s renowned podcast will find something to enjoy here. The former will enjoy what essentially amounts to a greatest hits compilation of the various beasts, demons, spirits, and mysterious beings that have cropped in various “Lore” episodes over the years. Newcomers to Mahnke and his work will be treated to a rich collection covering all sorts of cryptids and ghosts from a sweeping array of legends and traditions, which will teach them much about many creatures of fame that they thought they knew about, and will introduce them to a number of astounding and unnerving tales, sightings and stories that they have never heard of before.

Regardless of which group one falls in, by the time any readers finishes they will most likely find themselves deep in thought about whether there’s much more to this world hiding in the shadows and the forests, or whether humankind has a lot more self-exploration to do in order to better understand what on earth has lead us to create such a vast menagerie of oddities and horrors over the ages.

In short, this is an absolutely fascinating book, and the perfect October read!
