Great recipes and photos show clearly what you could look forward too. Most ingredients are to be found in cupboards so no great expenditure.

I love the recipes included and all the photos. I didn't have to go out and buy a bunch of strange ingredients that I'll never use again. One of my new favorites.

Readers are helped through these fantastic recipes with step-by-step instructions accompanied by images. I'd love to see how this looked when formatted in hard copy, because I think this would definitely be a cookbook for beginner or intermediate cooks to pick up.

While I enjoy the videos online, I didn't find many in this book that looked like something I would make. Needs more diverse recipes

Everybody loves those Tasty food videos that people love to paste on Facebook; they are created by Buzzfeed, and show step-by-step instructions for making delicious dishes in less than a minute. The only problem is that it’s hard to follow them without pausing, and most of us have to go back and watch them over and over. That’s why I Love Tasty; The Unofficial Cookbook is so nice. Catrine Kelty has captured the videos and given step-by-step instructions on a written page, so when we prepare those tempting dishes, we don’t have to watch it over and over and pause it. It’s nice too, to have the ingredients and instructions on a written page.

Actually, I Love Tasty; The Unofficial Cookbook is just a regular cookbook with lots of pictures of instructions, but because the recipes are like the ones we get on Facebook, it makes it more fun. This cookbook is a winner!

There are recipes here for everyone, and most are quick and easy. The photographs are well-done, and the book is well-organized. There are appetizers, salads, main dishes, side dishes, and desserts, so no matter what the occasion, there is a recipe that will fit.

The best part, of course, is that the recipes actually turn out like the pictures, and they actually taste good. Some recipes introduce time-saving shortcuts that busy cooks will use again and again. The Asian-Inspired Cucumber Salad is delicious and goes well with the Griddled Thai Chicken Sandwiches for a complete lunch or light supper. Other excellent recipes include yummy Cheddar Bacon Muffins, Naan Mini Pizzas, Ham and Cheese Cauliflower Gratin, and Panko Baked Chicken Cutlets. There is an easy stir-fry, juicy turkey burgers, and even a shortcut chicken pot pie.

The recipes are geared to cooks with little or no experience, but will also appeal to those who have more advanced skills. I Love Tasty is fun, and would make a great gift.

Special thanks to NetGalley for supplying a review copy of this book.

I love the web series of recipes and the book is as easy to follow as the series. Terrific recipes with clear instructions will make everyone an instant chef!

One of our cooking teachers stopped by the library today and we had fun discussing new cookbooks, especially I LOVE TASTY by Catrine Kelty. If you are not familiar with the Tasty website, have a look. I was introduced to the delicious recipes there by my 20-something children and I think this cookbook is a great fit for that same group. I LOVE TASTY, the unofficial cookbook, is filled with images and easy to follow recipes perfect for the beginning cook – much like the website itself. I really liked that the process is photographed as well as the final dish. Just a few favorites from the cookbook include "Good Morning Breakfasts" with Cinnamon-Chocolate Chip Muffins, "All Kinds of Vegetable Dishes" with Zucchini Pancakes, and comfort foods like True Shepherd’s Pie or Flaky Chicken Potpie in the "Meat, Poultry and Fish for Dinner" section. These 100 or so basic recipes are all relatively easy with a limited number of familiar ingredients and provide a wonderful opportunity to explore for new cooks. Looking for other cookbook ideas? Don’t forget Good and Cheap by Leanne Brown – my colleague checked that one out, too.

I Love Tasty is an homage to the Tasty cooking videos. I was not familiar with them but am always up for reviewing a good cookbook. This one might be a very good book for a beginning cook, who needs a little more guidance when attempting simple recipes. The recipes are easy, usually no more than 5 steps, and don't typically have a lot of ingredients. The photos are very appetizing and each step is accompanied with a photo of what the dish should look like at that step. There's a nice variety of recipes for a beginning cook, different ethnicities, different dietary types. But, I wouldn't recommend this book for anyone but a beginning cook. For someone who's experienced, there's a lot of wasted paper--white space, too-large photos. And, many of the dishes chosen are ones for which you probably already have recipes. Not much is unique.

Simple and well thought out recipes for everyday cooking. Accessible for even beginning cooks.

I have loved watching the Tasty ads on Facebook for so long, so when I saw the opportunity to review this cookbook to say I was excited, would be an understatement. This book is just a great as the Facebook commercials, full of brightly color images and scrumptious looking pictures. I found it easy to follow along and even easier to snarf up the food that I created. This cookbook is absolutely wonderful!

To begin I should explain that I have never seen the Tasty videos on BuzzFeed. I did, however, want to review “I Love Tasty” The Unofficial Cookbook for just that reason. I wanted to see if this book could stand alone and could be enjoyed by someone who is not familiar with the Tasty videos.

Born from incidentally noticing someone taping a screenshot of a food video to the kitchen counter, the author wondered if a cookbook could be created, with a lot of step-by-step photos, in the tasty fashion. This is the result.

Recipes in this cookbook cover several categories including:

Good Morning Breakfasts
Easy Snacks And Appetisers
Soups, Salads, And Sandwiches,
Pastas, Greens, And Beans,
All Kinds Of Vegetable Dishes
Meat, Poultry, And Fish For Dinner
Sweets For Dessert – Or Anytime
Cool (and Heart) Things To Drink

The recipes do live up to the author’s vision. Beginning with a short description, each is accompanied by a lovely full-colour picture, several step-by-step photographs and detailed instructions. Some also include little tips like what kind of ingredient to use, helpful shortcuts, or variations.

Very Simple Recipes

The recipes in the book seem very easy to make. That they don’t seem to be overly complicated is maybe part of the problem. The book seems to do exactly what it set out to do. Unfortunately, I found with most of the recipes the screenshots are unnecessary. Do we need to see an empty frying pan with a little bit of oil in it to know how to put oil and frying pan? It is unnecessary to see ingredients in a blender to know how to blend ingredients.

Even for a rank beginning cook, I feel most of the step-by-step pictures are unnecessary. Had the pictures perhaps been detailing a more challenging set of recipes, this review would have been quite different. But given the simplicity of most of these recipes, I feel to screenshot every single step of the recipe is overkill.

Overall, the book is good for beginner cooks looking for some go-to recipes. See the full review and the recipe for “Not Your Typical Oatmeal Cookies” on the RecipesNow! Reviews And Recipes Magazine.

This review is in response to a free copy of the book provided to me by the publishers in hopes of an honest review.

I loved the pictures next to the recipes in the book. I was slightly disappointed in the amount of recipes in the book - I was hoping for more. The ones that were included didn't really appeal to me as the ones that usually appear on facebook.

Tasty recipes are always my favorite, so when I saw a cookbook full of them I had to try it out. The I Love Tasty unofficial cookbook by Catrine Kelty was packed full of great, easy recipes. Emphasis on the easy. Those are my favorite kind of recipes.

Whether you have a house full or you are an individual, these recipes can be tweaked to fit whatever number you are trying to serve.

If you want something delicious, yet easy to make with well-known ingredients, then this is the cookbook for you. Check it out!

I must confess I had not heard of the Tasty YouTube channel or its popularity, but if it's encouraging young people to cook then that's great! This book is really aimed at beginners, with lavishly illustrated step-by-step recipes and LOTS of photos, for example - photo of raw ingredients, then photo of ingredients in mixing bowl, in pan, in oven, as served etc. While I'm not the target reader for this book I do appreciate that it would make a fantastic gift for students, young or first-time homemakers, or really anyone who appreciates such basic instructions. The recipes are good, seem fairly healthy and featuring many everyday items such as meatballs, mac and cheese through to apple pie. As a first cookbook, what's not to like?

Review of an advance digital copy from the publisher.
