A great start to a great series. Sawyer and Elizabeth make a great couple, and love the sparks and intrigue of this story. Elizabeth is a scientist, who creates a formula to bring people back from the dead. Sawyer is killed and and the powers that be want to use him and others as experiments, although the formula is not ready. Elizabeth is removed until 3 months later when they want her to fix the problems, and she sees a chance to help Sawyer and the others. Highly recommend this series and author. Look forward to more books to come in the series.

I voluntarily read an advanced reviewers copy of this book

I LOVED this book! My mind was simply blown away by the whole story. Cynthia Eden did a great job sucking the reader into not only this story but the world of all that is Lazarus. I spent every second trying to figure out who was behind every mystery and somehow every time I though I had it figured out...I would find out I really had no clue!

If you want an action packed romance that will have you laughing, crying and sitting on the edge of your seat than this is the book for you! Great job, Cynthia Eden!

There is a problem with her formula and yes it saves Sawyer but it changes him, brings him back as a super solider with side effects, effects that devastate Elizabeth. She was afraid of their meeting again, especially after he was given the drug. Then when she realizes of the conquences that have arisen from the drug, it’s a race against time while Elizabeth tries to find a way to save the man she loves against the darkness that is trying to take him over. Can Elizabeth fix what she started, save the man she loves and fight the factions that have started this mess or will Elizabeth lose the man she loves, forever to the faction and to the darkness? I don't know about you but I very seldom if ever find a book written by Cynthia Eden that I don't like. In fact, the only negative thing I can say is that she writes hella fast! I just can't keep up with her no matter how much I try.

Of course I like a little break between books because when I read them to close together they sound too much alike. That's because people are creatures of habit. If we like to drink tea all our characters might drink tea.

Because of this I space out my books by the same author and since my only complaint for Eden is she writes too much that's why I didn't review this one sooner.

Do you like how I did that? Gave myself a out! Ha!

Since I already love Eden's books it was a no-brainer that I was going to love this one too! And I did. This new series by Eden, Lazarus Rising is so good! I'm love the idea of it and the character. The author always writes wonderful alpha hero's and you get this in Never Let Go.

From the second I started Never Let Go I couldn't let go of it. I'm on a roll today! I just wanted, no need to know what was going to happen to both Sawyer and Elizabeth. Their connection jumps off the pages!

I really think you'll love the paranormal part of this series with the suspense. It's like two books in one. Both genre's that Eden rocks. But like all her other books the romance is front and center. It's never overshadowed by what was going one around the couple. Believe me, I'm not kidding when I say once you start Never Let Go you won't put it down until you're done. It's a fact!

Never Let Go is a fast paced, action packed, exciting read which had me on the edge of my seat. I love Eden's other paranormal reads, so I was excited to get back into a world like this. Sawyer i I enjoyed reading the scenes of her and Sawyer together. The plot is an interesting one, which allows for many twists and turns

**4.5 Stars**

I fall hard for Cynthia Eden’s particular brand of Romantic Suspense and Never Let Go had everything I adore about her storytelling. With an added layer of a sci-fi/paranormal element, Eden wove a complicated love story between the scientist who created the formula and the super soldier created from it; one that was mired in the twisted nature of powerful men in government who abused their allowances. Consumed in one complete sitting, it grabbed me and never let me go (pun intended).

Eden consistently writes evocative stories that pull deep into your gut. The devastating position of being the only one who remembered the love they once shared and that she created what put him in his current position was entirely painful, but what made it more so was that their soul-deep connection still held a flicker of light thus tying them together instinctually. I don’t want to say more and give away the story, but it was a perfectly captivating story that evoked a wonderfully suspenseful response along with tingles every time they were around one another. Elizabeth, while completely book smart, was wildly smart–a strong badass in her own right, no serum needed. She complemented Sawyer beautifully and brought forth his humanity.

With a smart premise and strong characters, Never Let Go is an enjoyable read to lose yourself in. It’s the perfect cleanser between reads, or when you want to feel a racing heart and read a fast-paced story. Hot, and the kind of story to rev up your engine, you can’t go wrong with this one.

Cynthia Eden’s newest series Lazarus Rising is off to a great start with Never Let Go!

It brings us into a military world full of action, drama, intrigue and romance with a touch of paranormal and as always with Cynthia Eden’s books a thrilling plot that just doesn’t let the readers go. It was medium to fast paced as the situations called for and full of thrills and the uncertainty of not knowing what would happen next which of course meant that I had to keep reading. The surprising twists happened throughout the book but none more surprising than the ones toward the end of the book which kind put a whole new perspective on the story and introduces readers to a character whose cagey, intriguing and leads us to believe that he just may have a few surprises of his own for us readers to uncover in future books.

All the characters were dynamic and attention grabbing with Elizabeth and Sawyer’s chemistry exploding from each and every page. Their romance was hot and steamy with some major emotional and turbulent times keeping the reader on pins and needles throughout. The secondary characters also added drama and chemistry to the book and ensured that readers will want to come back for more.

It is always a pleasure to read a book by Cynthia Eden and this is certainly no exception with its volatile topic that captures every readers attention as well as their imagination, I mean who isn’t captivated by the thought of bring the dead back to life, right? Anyway, I am very excited that the next book, Keep Me Close is due to be released in just a few days because this is one series that I can’t wait to find out what happens next in.

What would you do if you had the knowledge to bring back the dead? Will you use that knowledge or will you let nature takes it course? Well in Never Let Go a gripping romantic suspense by one of my favorite author Cynthia Eden. We shall find out what will happen if this knowledge was a viable one.
Never Let Go is book one in Cynthia Eden new series in A Lazarus Rising. This is a book that you just don’t want to pass up.
The story begins with Dr. Parker who at a young age lost everything that meant the world to her. Her parents ever since then, Dr. Parker has been working on a project for the government to battle death.
She finally found a formula that will work. But just like anything some are inpatient to test her formula. However, Dr. Parker is not so inpatient she is willing to risk life. She was certainly not willing to risk the one man she came to love. But when her lover was killed on a mission, she was beside her self when she found that her lover was listed as a test subject for Lazarus. But when one mission goes wrong, the choice was taken out of her hands.

Never Let Go a gripping romantic suspense with characters that you will just fall in love with. I just wish I could give this book more than 5 stars. This is a book that set the bar high for Keep Me Close, the next title in the Lazarus series.
I would recommend this title for any serious reader who loves romantic suspense.

Four and a half
When I pick up a book by this author I know it's going to be well written and full of steam and can I just say from the first scene the chemistry shared by this couple is off the charts ! There's no slow buildup here but an explosion of passion that completely surprised me but then again this new series is a whole new departure. Yes I'm used to her marvellous paranormal stories and I even occasionally read the romantic suspense books but this time it's kind of a fusion of both genres and boy does it work beautifully.
Sawyer is badass and honestly I can't think of any other way to describe him. Well I could say he's brave, determined oh and very possessive but that possibly sounds like so many other alpha type heroes so I'm sticking with badass but I will maybe add dead ! What ? Yes Elizabeth is this brilliant scientist who has managed to create a serum that can do the impossible and reanimate the dead but you've probably guessed by now that there's a few side effects. A huge rise in aggression is just the start of the problems as these super soldiers are faster, stronger oh and enhanced psychically too. Now I'd like to say that everything works out ok but where's the fun in that as this story takes us deep into murky waters with psychotic killers, greedy manipulating money men and of course a romance that is intense.
It's the first book so other characters are introduced that will no doubt be brought back to further expand this story. For now though there is some closure for Sawyer and Elizabeth as they reforge their bond but things will never be quite the same. A must read for those who enjoy this authors work and not too long to wait for the next book Keep Me Close.
This voluntary take is of a copy I requested from Netgalley and my thoughts and comments are honest and I believe fair.

5 - ”Intense is an understatement.” Stars!

Nothing gives me more pleasure than starting a new series by Cynthia Eden, given that this is RS, with a bit of a paranormal twist, I was hooked from the first chapter of Sawyer and Elizabeth’s story.

IMAGE.

I suppose you would say the romance between this couple is built around amnesia of sorts, Sawyer literally returns from the dead, and what follows is a race against time in all sorts of ways. Sawyer on a subliminal level immediately recognizes something familiar about Elizabeth when they are reintroduced after he has been given the Lazarus Formula, but having had his memory effectively wiped out from the process he struggles to remember anything. Something that breaks Elizabeth’s heart for a second time, first she loses the man she loves, and now he has no memory of her.

"Something is between us. Something about you gets to me. And I can’t hurt you. I won’t hurt you."

But all is not well with the Lazarus Formula, and the side effects are more far reaching than Elizabeth and the rest of the people involved are aware of, something Sawyer and the rest of his team have made sure of, and as the book progresses you realize that these men are now more than just Super-Soldiers. But someone at the facility is killing people, and the finger is immediately pointed to Sawyer and his team.

"I think I’m Frankenstein."

As always, I devoured this book, the author set the scene well, and started the series off by giving Sawyer and Elizabeth their reconnection as well as introducing the rest of the players to the game. I think there are likely to be a few more books to come, bearing in mind what has happened so far and the amount of questions that are still left unanswered.

"It’s not over yet."

Keep Me Close; Flynn and Cecelia’s story is due at the end of October, and I am looking forward to seeing where the author takes us with this series.

I’ve been an avid fan of Cynthia Eden’s romantic suspense work since her early Deadly series days and have read all her RS work to date. I must admit I was getting a bit tired of it-- her last three big series (Mine, Dark Obsession, and LOST) read practically the same… and with 16 books amongst them, that’s a lot of repetition! I was extremely relieved when her recent Killer Instinct series brought something new to the table… and even more relieved to see that her latest series, Lazarus Rising, brings something even more new and fresh whilst maintaining Ms. Eden’s level of excellence. I have a pretty strong dislike for paranormal romance (hence why I haven’t read the other half of Ms. Eden’s backlist!) and, as a PhD-trained experimental molecular biologist, a healthy scepticism toward anything that stretches the boundaries of science, so I was unsure what to expect from NEVER LET GO going in. Would I be able to suspend my (scientific) disbelief long enough to get into the story? Would it rub the experimentalist in me so completely the wrong way that I’d, for the first time ever, DNF a Cynthia Eden book? But all my worrying was for naught, since NEVER LET GO drew me in from the get-go and kept me frantically turning pages until the very end, desperate to know what would happen next. Sawyer Cage is a quintessential Cynthia Eden hero, but he has a certain je ne sais quoi that set him apart from Ms. Eden’s recent heroes and made me really like him. Ms. Eden favours heroines who’ve survived some traumatic event, but lately they’ve tended more toward shrinking violet than badass; not so with Dr. Elizabeth Parker. Maybe it’s because we’re both scientists, but I really connected with her and felt both her motivation to develop the Lazarus formula and the emotional plight of its abuse.

Thoroughly enjoyed NEVER LET GO, and looking forward to Flynn and Cecelia’s story (KEEP ME CLOSE) in a couple of weeks!
