Christi Caldwell has done it again! I love reading books filled with romance and mystery. I enjoy not being able to tell what will happen next and this book delivers that perfectly. We've all read books about heroines disguised when going into a gaming hell, but, this book puts a twist on the story with depth and emotion that is craved by the reader. I definitely recommend to romance book lovers!

This series has gotten better and better! But alas, this is the last book. :(

In this story we get a glimpse into Calum's tortured past, and the 9 year old girl who unwittingly helped his family to survive. Through an act of betrayal, they are parted, never to see each other again.....

I loved Eve. She was kind, gracious and strong even though she had a horrible life after her parents passed. She took a life changing experience and used it for good. (My eyes may have leaked a little)
Calum has always stood out to me in the other books. There was something about him that really caught my attention. Christi did not let me down with his story. I'm ecstatic he got his HEA with someone worthy of him!

I loved this story. Calum and Eve are perfect for each other! I like how the author was able to intersperse the backstory of their friendship with what was happening in the present day, without doing too much info-dumping. I highly enjoyed reading this and look forward to reading other novels by this author in the future.

I have been captivated by this fabulous series following the men who run one of London’s most notorious gaming hells and the women who defy society by falling in love with them. This fourth book in the series was bittersweet for me. I was elated because it featured Calum who has been my favorite of the gaming hell proprietors. I fell in love with this gentle giant early on in the series and have been anxious to hear his story. I was heartbroken because this book marked the end of the series. I have fallen in love with each and every character in these books and hate to see it end. The only consolation is that any book worth reading is a book worth rereading. Which I’m sure I’ll do repeatedly.

As a boy, Calum Dabney had been one of the best pickpockets in London. Now he was second in command at one of London’s finest gaming hells. He’d committed every crime short of murder to secure the funds necessary to survive and build his empire. His only family was his “brothers” he’d grown up with on the streets of St. Giles, and with whom he now ran the Hell and Sin. He’d never trusted anyone other than his family. Lady Evelina Pruitt had grown up lonely. She had befriended a young boy who often hid out in her family’s stables. As in every book in this series, The Heiress’s Deception was filled with endearing characters and breathtaking romance. Eve and Calum were two souls destined to be together. After Eve’s unintentional betrayal of Calum, she’d dedicated herself to seeing that other children didn’t suffer the same fate as her friend. She had carried the memory of her friend with her all those years. Calum had thought he’d put that time behind him but it was sweet to see how much of their brief friendship had stayed with him. That time in his youth with Eve had been the only time in his life he’d been allowed to dream rather than only think of survival. I loved watching their friendship and love form anew. The things they loved about each other went beyond the physical. They both appreciated the kindness and selflessness of the other, even if they didn’t see those qualities in themselves.
The relationship between Adair and Calum was especially compelling in this book. I worried that their friendship might not survive. Calum faced the hardest decision of his life and Adair could not grasp the sacrifice he was expecting Calum to make. I hope Adair is in a future book. I really want to see him find love so he can appreciate the choices his brothers made.
The entire series and this book in particular does an excellent job of showing the injustices of the time period. The unequal treatment of women and children especially. So many people depended on the Hell and Sin for their survival. The hell offered women and children opportunities they wouldn’t find anywhere else. Also, the snobbery of the ton. How high society was eager to patronize the Hell and Sin but God forbid the proprietors ever assume to enter their world. This book really made me appreciate the risk these couples took when they chose love.
There were light moments in the story to offset some of the darker elements. I got such a kick out of people’s reactions to Eve’s hair dye. And I always love the joking manner among the men at the club. And, as in any Christi Caldwell book, the development of the romance is magical with just the right amount of heat. I’m not ready for this series to end. I’m hoping it segues into another series that includes many of these characters. I still need to know about Adair and Killoran. I’d also love to see more of Eve’s mysterious brother Kit and her friend Nurse Mattison. So many possibilities! But Christi Caldwell is the master of storytelling so I’m sure I need not worry. I know whatever follows will be just as enchanting as this series has been. A Book Obsessed Chicks Review Team selection.

What a way to end an awesome series! The story of Calum and Eve touched my heart right down to its core. So much pain in both of their lives and yet they both had the strength and courage to move forward, to survive, to have the best life that they could. Their friendship was torn apart so many long years ago. They shared their souls, had a kinship until that awful night when everything changed for both of them. Now circumstances have thrown them back together again. Could things change for them? Could a reconnection lead to something more? Read the book to find out.

I am so sad to see this series end; however, this last book wrapped it all up so nicely. So very well written with quite a complex story that moved at a good pace. Ms. Caldwell brings her characters alive on the page and makes us feel for them, makes us love them. Great emotion, wonderful characters, drama, suspense and romance made this book impossible to put down. Well done! Highly recommended!

I have read Christi Caldwell historical romance novels before but this one has really blown me away this time. It is one of the most emotional books that I have read. I felt anger, betrayal, and passion all in this book. Eve has been ignored and pushed aside, and the things that her brother did are despicable. She had to run in order to survive. That takes strength in a time where women were objects to trade. Callum has also had a very difficult life, he has had terrible losses in his life.
All I have to say is read this novel!

Have enjoyed Caldwell’s books in the past, and this story is much more relatable than the prior book in the series, but not as good as the earlier ones. I really like her writing overall, but feel she’s gotten into a rut with the gaming hell line. And writing at the speed she writes, the stories suffer from it. They are quick reads, but not really compelling. I received a free arc in exchange for an honest review.

Christi Caldwell did it again. I loved this book and could not put it down till I found out what happened to Evie and Calum. Can’t wait till her next book comes out.

Loved, Loved, Loved this story!! A beautiful historical romance that is a real page turner that you won't ever want it to end. Christi does a wonderful job of drawing you into her stories. A story of a heiress who is willing to do anything to protect herself and her dowry from her evil cruel brother the Duke even it means working in a Gaming Hell. Little does she know that the boy she tried to save when she was little, but innocently betrayed and almost had hung is one of the owners of this establishment. Callum who is the hero was brought on the streets is trying to save his business doesn't realize Eve is the little girl from his past. A past filled with bitterness and betrayal. A little girl who was brutally punished just to be punished by a sadistic brother. Two broken souls who find each other year later that only true unconditional love will be able to make them whole. A highly emotional read that had me going through every emotion you could think of. This story has it all betrayal, deception, and a forgiving love that heals all wounds. Any Christi Caldwell book is a one click buy for me!!!

I really liked the author's writing.
Although the book can be read separately - as far as the couple's romance is concerned -I've missed having read the previous books to better understand the connection among other characters.

The romance here is good - and sometimes funny - when the whole bad guy Calum shows himself so kind to Eve.
At first, he doesn't remember her from the time when she was his childhood friend.
Now she needs to stay hidden because her brother is capable of anything to get her inheritance.

A good historical novel with HEA.

This book was fantastic! Eve and Calum had such great chemistry. If you sre seeking sensual with strong characters then this is the book for you.This author never disappoints.

I liked the characters' back story, but the book felt very repetitive. The conclusion happened very abruptly with seemingly nothing happening to the bad guy.

Well arguably a five star, I went four because I felt it was rushed in places and the missing brother part got to me. One thing I know for sure, the book does not disappoint, it is indeed a good read. I just wanted it to be a great read! I like the way the author writes. I enjoy the plot lines the characters the way she sets up her story and makes you forget what is happening as you are pulled into that world. I can say it was really a very good read for me. Omgosh. Christi liked to make me cry, and I did in the very beginning of this book. I could see the children and was so sad for what was happening. I loved it! I was a little surprised that it took him so long to recognize her, but then it made it better when he did. Loved it!

I loved Eve and Calum's story and it was the perfect conclusion to the Sinful Bride's series. Childhood friends torn apart by a cruel man and reunited as adults that fall in love. What more can you ask for??

There is one last brother in which we haven't seen his story. It is book 1 in Caldwell's Wicked Wildflowers series coming out in April.

I really enjoyed this book. This book delivered all the right things that a romance is meant to. An emotional read. I am going to read the blacklist. So excited to find a new author.

This is a captivating story that is heartbreaking and romantic. Calum is tough, loyal, cautious and responsible. Eve is vulnerable, determined, brave, kind and caring. They were friends as children, until Calum was betrayed by Eve. Then he hated her, and she was guilt ridden. 17 years later fate throws them together again, only he doesn't recognize her. Calum fights his feelings for Eve, because after having once been betrayed by a friend, he doesn't trust easily. Eve hides her feelings for Calum because she feels like she doesn't deserve him. They have an up and down, friends and foes relationship that is both beautiful and sad. Eve's brother adds some serious drama to their lives, as does Calum's family. This is a definite must add to your TBR list.
