Another great story from CD Reiss. Well written and had me gripped. Chemistry was instant and I’m slightly head over heels for Carter myself. A great story line and very likeable characters all round. I loved Phin, he was definitely a ray of sunshine in horrible times for Emily. Will definitely be reading this author again as I enjoyed the first book in the Hollywood A-List series as well.

Bodyguard has that perfect blend of suspense & sizzle that makes for a riveting page turner. Brimming with intriguing characters, heart pounding danger, and undeniable heat, the story kept me engaged from start to finish. I found Carter’s unconditional love for his son especially heartwarming. A relatively new author to me, CD Reiss has quickly become my one-click addiction!

5 amazing stars I simply feel in love with thr characters right from the start.

Emily is rebounding from a bad relationship and wants to remain hidden not seen until her ex starts stalking her. Carter one hot as hell ex cop turned bodygaurd with a secret he doesn't want getting out.

I loved this book and the chemistry between the two of them was something else. I loved how Emily finally found herself again and made Carter face his secrets. Another well written story that you will want to read over and over.

Bodyguard is such a great example of the bodyguard genre.

Emily is her superstar best friend's choreographer. She's picked up a stalker in the form of her seriously crazy, twisted ex-boyfriend, Vince, so Darlene (the best friend) convinces her to allow Carter, one of Darlene's bodyguards, to allow him to guard her. The only problem with this grand idea is the attraction between Emily and Carter. Carter knows that being attracted to a client is no way for him to be the best at his job, but he's catching feelings and his natural protective tendencies take over.

Emily and Carter's attraction is crazy hot. It reminds me of that old school awesome movie, The Bodyguard, in that the bodyguard knows having any kind of romantic, physical relationship with his client is not good, but he just cannot help himself any more than Emily can help herself. There's a lot of push and pull in Bodyguard, mainly because of Carter's wish to not be attracted to his client, plus he has other important things going on in his life that sort of preclude him from having a relationship. Thank God, though, that Carter finally gets his head together and goes and gets his woman. Along the way, that pesky stalker situation is resolved, although I wish it had been in more of a dramatic fashion, as I wanted Vince to be tortured or something for all the harassment he had subjected Emily to. Alas, it wasn't to be, but still, it was resolved and Emily and Carter do indeed get their HEA. I wish there had been an bigger, more definitive epilogue, though, because it was a little too anticlimactic for my tastes. Aside from that minor problem, though, I really liked Bodyguard. It's sexy, it's fast-paced, the characters, even the secondary characters, are well-drawn and likable, and the whole guard my body thing is always, always a good thing, especially in the hands of a superb writer like CD Reiss.

My new favourite nickname and the one I will ask hubs to call me from here on in is Tiny Dancer.

Forget Teacup. Forget Kitten. Forget Pigeon. Peaches I am done with you. I am now TD. The fact that I am tiny is a big tick the fact that I don’t really dance because I prefer to chat and drink wine is a minor issue.

Carter Kincaid! Hi! Pleased to meet you. You pack a lovely gun. You want my name? It is Tiny Dancer. Would you like to lick my face?

How does Christine do it? She is pure genius isn’t she? She conjures up these men that we want to dry hump. Carter is up there with Brad and Michael (I pick them particularly because they get name drops as does Claire Contreras who I am going to squeeze the life out of in Manchester in about 36 hours from now).

I should tell you about the book really! It is wounded female meets fuckhot Bodyguard with enough baggage to out baggage the entourage of Beyoncé. That means he has big bags just in case you didn’t get my drift.

CD Reiss delivers a very important message in this book, woman or man, do not ever compromise the person you are to suit someone else or you lose you.

Fame - a stalker and a bodyguard.
Carter is a bodyguard and Emily has been assigned as his principal.
But distractions -Emily- makes for a difficult job. In order to obtain optimum results and fulfill needs there has to be a change in the plan. There is more to what is presented on the surface.
A suspenseful read

I really enjoyed reading this, although it could go all typical tropes with regards to the romance, Ms. Reiss managed to make it simple without too much complications. The conflict came from the characters individual problems they needed to resolve to make the romance move forward. Carter and Emily have to deal with an abusive ex turned stalker, a son dealing with his own issues oh and mounting a spectacular concert for the popstar Diva Darlene. I do love the style of writing, the character development, the chemistry between Carter and Emily and the other secondary characters that make Bodyguard a romance worth reading.

A fantastic read that touches your heart and brings reality to the surface. It touches on something many people come face to face with but it also captures survival.

This is the second book in the Hollywood A-list series, but definitely can be read as a stand-alone. In this book we have Emily, the choreographer and Carter, the bodyguard.

Both of these characters have a little baggage. Emily has an ex that won't quit and Carter has a story that takes a bit to unfold. I had mixed feelings about Emily, while I loved Carter. He was a unique character, with an interesting past and struggled between duty and chemistry. Emily's story too had interesting pieces and she tried not to be the damsel in distress but made some poor choices. I did like that she wasn't the "star" but the star's best friend.

The heat factor between these two was off the charts. They has tons of tension and almost moments, which I always find that I enjoy almost more than the actual moments. The build up and let down keep me on my toes and makes for a more rounded story.

This author has a way with her storytelling that I really love. I have read over a half dozen books by her and each time there is something different about her characters and their situations that draw me in. I go in knowing that I will have a completely well-rounded story and this one was no different. I like that I get sucked into the story, in this instance while their was the ex who was lurking about I felt the on-edge-ness while waiting for him to make his move. I do hope this isn't the last we see of the side characters we meet because they all seem in need of a book.

My first thought when I see that another CD Reiss book is releasing is, Ohhhh I can’t wait to get into this one and see what journey she will take me on. In Bodyguard, the 2nd of the Hollywood A-List books, we get such a well thought out story that continues the series in such a magnetic way. I have been a CD Reiss fan from the beginning and I just love how her writing has grown with such complexity over the years. She can write anything from a steamy erotica to a romantic love-story like what we find here in Bodyguard.

In Bodyguard, we get the story of Emily and Carter. Emily is living in California working with her best friend and famous performer Darlene, as a choreographer. She is a very spunky and fun personality that is lovable from the beginning. She begins her journey in this story as she is tackled by Carter in the parking lot as she is headed to work. Her past is one that includes a very dark and twisted ex, Vincent. Her instincts tell her it’s him, but something about the voice calms her. There is attraction between the two immediately, but as soon as he is put on her as her bodyguard, she becomes off limits to him; which only makes their attraction grow.

Carter has a past as well and is keeping a few things from his close ones as well as Emily the closer she gets. His secrets are something he has guarded for over 10 years and he won’t allow a relationship to interfere with protecting his loved ones. But their chemistry is so fiery that it is only a matter of time before the two give in to their mutual attraction.

Once things pick up between them, nothing can put out the flames they ignite. They are so well written and have such a great connection that simply feels natural. But when her past threatens to endanger Emily, and even Carter’s family, lines will have to be drawn in the sand somewhere to protect everyone involved.

As expected from Christine, this book is packed with so much emotion that you truly will feel as though you are on an emotional roller coaster the whole way through, while falling in love with the characters and their story.

Carter Kincaid was everything Emily needed. A crazy ex boyfriend that prevented her from pursuing her dreams stalked her every move. She gave up her singing and stayed in the shadows becoming a dance choreographer. When she meets Carter, she feels a sense of protectiveness that has been missing in her life. They both struggle with the skeletons in their past and begun heal and feel safe with one another. Falling in love will sneak up on you and be the greats gift imaginable.

CD is one of my go-to authors so I was pumped to read this one. This was so well researched and planned out. It was sexy, emotional, and (as always) very well written. Character development was top notch and they were relatable. The plot draws you in, keeps you on your toes, and so into the story you forget the world around you. Another winner from CD. 4.5/5

I loved the continuation of the characters. The book was an excellent read. The story line had a great pace and kept me wrapped up from beginning to end.

Emily currently works for her best friend as her choreographer and is trying to escape her past. She lives her life in fear her ex will show back up. What happens when she meets a man who makes her feel alive again? Will he be worth the risk of opening up?

Carter Kincaid....oh my goodness! He is so swoonworthy! I fell in love with him immediately and throughout the story, I fell a little harder. The sacrifices he makes to take care of his son will make your ovaries explode.

I DEVOURED Bodyguard. It will definitely be on my re read this. You can't help but be drawn in by the story and not want it to end. It is a must read and CD continues to blow me away with her stories.

Bodyguard is the 2nd book in the Hollywood A-List Series and each book can be read as a standalone. Which is fortunate for me since I have not read Bombshell (Book 1).

This is Carter Kincaid and Emily’s story. Darlene McKenna is Emily’s best friend and they met at gymnastics camp while they were kids. Emily couldn’t continue with gymnastics since she blew out her knee while at a practice. Emily stayed friends with Darlene and she now choreographs Darlene’s (now a pop star) routines.

I can’t say much here because I don’t want to give away any of the story. But, I love Carter’s son Phinnaeus hopefully that isn’t too much info.

Darlene hires another bodyguard (Carter) for Emily (her ex is abusive and is stalking her). I will let you find out about the rest of this hot and sexy story.

Oh and I don't feel like I missed anything by reading the second book first.

I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book. I give Bodyguard 4.5 stars.

Let me start of by say that this is one of my favorite stories by this author. It was a great read that I found tough to put down.

The Bodyguard has several elements that readers will enjoy. A bodyguard- so hot. A single dad- swoon. A heroine that’s a dancer- and you can tell this was well researched because of the detail. A little bit of drama- we need a plot twist, right? Chemistry between the H and h- so much sexy sexytimes. Wonderful relationships with secondary characters- who doesn’t love a good BFF?

I would recommend this book even if you haven’t read the first in the series, it can totally be read as a standalone.

Entertaining read!
This book grabbed me from the beginning. Great setup, characters were entertaining and I enjoyed the amount of angst this book gave.
The chemistry between Carter and Emily was off the charts hot.

I think of all her Montlake-published books, this might be my favorite. CD Reiss always manages to bring her all to every piece, and this contemporary piece just flowed so well.

There was no denying the attraction between Emily and Carter. And while their chemistry wasn't insanely palpable, like in some books, it felt so natural. Like from the beginning when he craves to hear her singing voice. It's the little things. Like the way he appreciates Emily's torn up dancer's feet. He understands her dedication to her craft and encourages it, more so her singing that she left behind.

It's also a single father story, though there's a twist to that part, too. And he loves Phinn fiercely, going to the end of the earth to ensure he's cared for and protected.

Bodyguard is sweet, and sexy, and everything else a CD Reiss contemporary encompasses. If you read nothing else from her A-List set, read this one.
