I love the characters in this book, they are all believable and really easy to identify with - another great book in a series full of fab books.

Our leading lady is the lovely human, Gwen Miller. She and her family run a fantastic haunted Victorian Mansion as a bed and breakfast with a lovely marsh as the back yard. I mean come on – how amazing is that setting? I absolutely love it.
We start on Gwen’s journey as the only witness to three human boys assaulting a lone shifter female. Enter Zander.
As a guest at Gwen’s inn, Mercury pack shifter enforcer Zander Devlin is in town to hear the will of his late (great?? Maybe??) Uncle and runs into his evil twin. Yes. Literally evil twin (that whole arc seemed a little unnecessary but eh whatevs). But Zander just can’t seem to leave Gwen alone and go back home to Mercury territory.

As a HUGE fan of Suzanne Wright this should have been 5 stars. I love all of her books and honestly this wasn’t a bad book. Gwen and Zander were great – their steamy scenes were incredible and saucy. Wright excels at writing delicious steamy moments.
But… it was predictable for her. Switch out some names and we could have had 3 or 4 of her past books – this book just wasn’t very memorable.
<spoiler>And I mean come on – how many times are you going to have the mating bond not complete but then leading lady is inches from death only to have the main man experience an epiphany and ta da! Bond is complete and he is able to save his lady love! Seriously – EVERY BOOK SUZANNE! But dear god please don’t start just killing off characters </spoiler>.

BUT I seriously loved loved loved the idea of a human mate. I mean come on – Gwen just got to live out every book nerd’s dream *highfive*

LURE OF OBLIVION is a pretty fun, action-filled installment of the Mercury Pack series. The plot is really compelling and complex mostly involving a clash between shifters and small town humans. What struck me in this story was the utter brutality and pettiness of the bad guys. The majority of the violence meted out hit close because it was stuff that could actually happen in real life to minority groups facing oppression and bigotry. There was no big bad wizard or vampire doling out supernatural evil, just some idiot, entitled rich boys. It was scary because it was so very real. Obviously, the violence gets bigger and more supernatural once shifters get into the mix but at its core this story is really about a woman standing her ground against injustice and doing what is right.

I was not too fond of the romance here. What I did like was that it was basically two people with messed up family lives finding love and acceptance within each other. Gwen is tough and compassionate and a great foil to Zander. I thought Zander did not know the meaning of personal boundaries and the meaning of the word "no" even for a shifter. He came off as very demanding and controlling but he makes up for it a bit with his caring for Gwen's well being. And Gwen is pretty good at putting him in his place a bit. I am normally fine with the insta-love trope but I don't really enjoy the whole 'fated mates' trope which this story heavily leans on. The fact that the story goes into depth about the mechanics of it in this world was tiring which is probably due to having read multiple versions of this in so many books making the trope feel stale.

LURE OF OBLIVION is a fun story with a plot that seems pretty topical for what has been going on in the world recently. While I had issues with the romance I enjoyed it well enough and it was woven well into the much more interesting main plot.

3.5 stars.

I'm going to admit something. I love these dang books. I have no shame. I can pick up one at any time and know I'm in for a good time.

Best wolf shifting porn in the world.

Shaddup judging until you read one of these suckers.

This wasn't my favorite of the batch but it still was just what the book slumping gawds ordered.

Gwen is a human and has spoken out against some little buttholes in town that hurt a female shifter. They are giving her grief and trying to get her to shut up with the speaking out against her 'own kind.' She refuses and gets a visit from super smexy wolf shifting men.

One of them is hawt and they start the banging.
The banging is hot as balls in these books....except for one thing.

The dang cream talk about her lady bits. That shit is gross.

I just remember it from the last two books I read by this author but not a fan. She may have used it in the others I read from her and I have creamavoidancedisorder and can't remember.

I still love them though and will continue to read all these suckers that I can get my dirty pirate hooker hands on.

Definitely one of my favourite series. Can never get over the style of this particular paranormal. Very well written and presented. Would love to take Zander out on a date, sorry Gwen !

Well written fantasy romance, my first read of the series but not my last!

This books immediately separates itself from its predecessors in that the main part of the book takes place away from pack lands, all the way in Gwen's home. While it's sad that there's not as much pack interaction within this particular moment, the introduction of a human mate and showing her family's problems expands the universe from just the shifter perspective to the human's (or some of them) as well.
I love the way the Zander's wolf instinctively reacts to meeting Gwen and the realization that comes along to the human part of his brain waaayyyyy after the wolf's already figured it out as usual. Really, you'd think that after watching so many of their friends mate, they'd know the signs.
Zander is a character that the series hasn't had much focus on in the past, but we get much more of his background and character along with some more tidbits on Jesse and Bracken,
I was a little disappointed at how much the external threats mimicked the other books in a climax that built up at the end and resulted in a battle, although the action scenes are always so well done. The savior(s) were a bit different this time and flirted with the territory of the dead that's both superstition but not quite in the supernatural realm, dwelling in the place that always leaves a bit of mystery left in the universe.
Overall, it wasn't my favorite book in the series because of the slow action, but it's a worthy read with a dominant female lead character.

I have become such a fan of Ms. Wright’s and I might be quite possibly obsessed with both of her shifter series! I love them both so much and I just could not, could not, could not wait to read Lure of Oblivion or go back into this world. And as soon as it hit my kindle, I started reading it and I didn't want to stop for anything. I absolutely loved Lure of Oblivion, it was a fantastic addition and you know I already can’t wait for more!

It’s so hard to pick who’s my more favorite between Zander and Gwen because I loved them both a lot, but I think this one has to go to my gal Gwen, so I’m going to talk about Zander first. And what can I say about Zander? He’s an awesome hero and is pretty much everything I want them to be. He’s possessive and protective, faithful and determined, and he’s a total alpha. Zander is .serious for the most part, but he has his sweet, playful moments and while he definitely wants his way, he’s patient and so giving with Gwen. I completely loved Zander for all of his parts and I’m sure you will too!

Man, Gwen is a total B - O - S - S - BOSS! The woman can kick some major butt, she’s without a doubt her own woman who doesn’t take any guff from anyone and refuses to be intimidated and back down. Gwen is honorable, she has a core of steel, and she’s always there for the people she cares about. She’s genuine and there is nothing fake about her. Gwen is amazing and I wholeheartedly loved, loved, loved her!

Lure of Oblivion was another hit out of the park. It was everything I love and have come to expect in either the Phoenix Pack or Mercury Pack series. It was full of action, steam, frustrating moments and funny ones, and so much heart. I had such a great time reading this, it made me laugh and smile and warmed my heart. I couldn’t get enough and I’m so glad that I finished, but I’m also a little bummed out that I did because now I have to wait until the next book comes out - although and don’t tell anyone - (but I might have to go and do a reread of the series to tide me over)!

Lure of Oblivion is the third book in the Mercury Pack series and can be read as a standalone, but I highly recommend reading the first two too. It’s told from Zander and Gwen’s POV and they do have a happily-ever-after ending.

Wow this was good. Zander is a wolf who is very closed off. His wolf doesn't like many people either. But when he has to go to Oregon to take care of business things get interesting with both man and wolf when they meet Gwen.

Gwen is a very likeable character. She's bad ass, independent, strong, and intelligent. She wants to do the right thing and because of that she is being targeted by her own kind...the humans.

Things get heated when you have a troubled familiar past like these two and there are only more twists and turns happening. I really liked it once I was able to sit and read without interruptions feom work and children. And life.

Suzanne Wright's books always make me smile and she's one of the few authors I Always read without questioning.
Lure of Oblivion will make you smile, laugh and learn to trust along with the characters.
I received the book from NetGalley in exchange for a honest review.

I always eagerly await a new Suzanne Wright novel, and the Mercury Pack series is one of my favorites. These are not your typical shifter romance novels (although there’s nothing wrong with those either!). Wright’s novels weave sit-on-the-edge-of-your-seat suspense with believable love stories. It’s a great combo!

I loved our heroine, Gwen. She’s feisty and strong and her entire family is a just a bit crazy. I want to take a trip to that haunted B&B! It took me a while to warm up to Zander, although I’d totally let him eat crackers in my bed.

If you’re looking for a yummy romance with a big helping of suspense, Lure of Oblivion’s your book.

Suzanne Wright really knows how to write sexy shifter romances with suspense. Twists and turns, revenge and romance, this book was so enjoyable to read starting at the first chapter. The heroine Gwen is truly a inspiring character that I fell in love with. She knows right from wrong and she will not let anything stand in her way, eve her own danger. The chemistry between Gwen and the sexy alpha male Zander is off the charts smoking hot. I cannot wait to read the rest of the series. Thank you for allowing me to read this and write about it honestly.

If you like the Phoenix Pack Series, then without a doubt you will enjoy the Mercury Pack Series. Lure of Oblivion is the third title in the Mercury Pack Series written by Suzanne Wright.
This sexy and wild story takes as outside the land of the Mercury wolves land into the land of the humans. Gwen Miller may be a human, but she can’t stand injustice. So, when she came upon a human attacking a lone shifter, she took a stand and refused to be pressured by the teenager’s family to change her story.
Zander booked a room at Gwen’s inn, just long enough for the reading of his uncle’s will. He soon realizes that Gwen’s in serious trouble. Since she’s putting her life at risk to save one of his kind, he decided to extend his stay to assist her.
Lure of Oblivion was hot and sexy PNR. What made this book enjoyable is the two main characters. They both had realistic issues that they needed to overcome. So, trying to relate to Zander and Gwen would be easier for some if not all readers. The plot flowed without missing a beat. This book like all the other in the series can be read as a stand-alone. But why start with the third book, read the entire book in the series in order, I know I did and enjoyed myself immensely.

Another five star from Suzanne Wright! Everything about this book is funny, sexy, and amazing. The chemistry between Gwen and Zander is off the charts electric and the banter between them and the other characters is fantastic. Exactly what you'd expect from a Suzanne Wright book. This was a great addition to the Mercury Pack world and I can't wait for more.

When Zander and his pack-mate Bracken decided to stay at a B&B in Oregon, waiting for the reading of his uncles will. , neither expected to be drawn into a conflict between a human female, a beaten shifter, and a group of shifter-hating humans. But they'll do their best to keep the females safe....and Zander might just keep the human female, Gwen, a little safer...by keeping her in his arms and his bed.
Very good addition to this series. I loved the storyline., the characters, the fun dialogue, and the hot and steamy sexy-times.. This book is okay to read alone but I always recommend reading the other books in the Mercury Pack and Phoenix Pack series.
I received a copy of this book from the publisher via NetGalley. My reviews and opinions are honest and my own. 4 1/2 stars

Suzanne Wright is one of my all time favorite PNR authors, and after every release I feel giddy with glee. Lure of Oblivion is no exception. This is Zander and Gwen's story, the third book in the Mercury Pack series. It was sweet, sexy, that had an alpha male who will make you swoon.

"Gwen was also fascinated by the whole true-mate thing. To have someone made specifically for you—someone who would never betray you, never hurt you, and would always cherish you—would be something special. She envied them that."

I voluntarily read an advanced reviewers copy of this book

Gwen witnesses a horrible attack on a female shifter and decides to stand up for what is right to try and make sure that no other shifter is hurt by those crazy teenagers again.

Zander is in town and has no intention to stay until he meets Gwen. Gwen makes his wolf act very strange...and he can't help but wonder what it is about her that is making both his wolf and himself crazy!

I liked that this book was romantic and had a good message. Gwen was kind of martyr but what was really good was that Zander had no problem telling her when she needed to step back think about herself as well as others. Overall this book was good.

Gwen crept closer to her home and saw all three males -who were nineteen- who hadn’t got the message to stay away from her home. The males had spray paint with them and apparently were going to make a mess of her truck if not the house which was also a B&B. Brandt was the ringleader of the trio who said she could make all the harassment stop if she changed her statement. Gwen had seen Brendt beat a drugged female shifter -Andie- with a metal pole as his buddies cheered him on and even kicked Andie when she was down months ago. Gwen had found them at the border of her family’s land. Gwen had shot at them several times before they finally ran off. Then she had taken the drugged and shaken Andie to her home. Gwen called the sheriff but it hadn’t done any good as the boys weren’t arrested and were only questioned for about an hour then released. The sheriff was tight with Brandt’s father Ezra who was socially influential. Neither thought Andie deserved any rights as she was a shifter. Even though Gwen was human she didn’t believe that was right. Andie reported the incident to the shifter council which could punish humans who committed crimes against shifters if human law enforcement didn’t. So Brendt would have to stand before the council and he didn’t want that. So the boys harassed Gwen trying to get her to change her statement like Andie had as they had frightened her to death. But Gwen stood firm. Gwen didn’t back down from anyone. The council didn’t care once an incident had been reported, the council always investigated it. Then the boys saw Gwen’s foster uncle Donnie with his shotgun aimed at them and ready to shoot and they then decided to leave. Donnie was ex military and the ultimate conspiracy theorist. He was also a little unstable and often disappeared in the woods for days at a time. Donnie felt more at ease outside surrounded by nature. LOcals thought Donnie was eccentric when actually he was extremely intelligent and a strategic mastermind. Donnie had trained Gwen to defend herself , he had also trained Gwen how to use many of the weapons he had stashed at different places. Marlon was Gwen’s foster brother and she had a foster sister named Julie. Zander and Bracken were enforcers, Eli was the head enforcer. Nick was their alpha and Shaya was Nick’s mate and they were in the Mercury pack. Zander;s uncle had died and he had to go to the lawyer's office for the reading of the will. Brecken was going with Zander.Zander didn’t need or want comfort He didn’t seem to grieve the way others did. He hadn’t cried when his parents died though they had cast him off years ago and favored Rory who was Zander’s identical twin. But Rory had never been a true brother to Zander. Rory was smart and a computer analyst. Winning was the most important thing to Rory. Zander wasn’t looking forward to spending the weekend around humans. Gwen had come to live with the Millers as a foster child when she was eight. For some going into foster care was a nightmare but for Gwen it was a blessing. Zander had booked two days in Gwen’s family’s B&B. His voice had done funny things to Gwen. Gwen had always been intrigued by shifters and the dynamics of packs, prides, flocks, etc and also shifting into animals had to be cool. She envied that. Zander’s wolf was like him- hard, shrewd, and distrustful. They were also never rattled by anything. But there was something about Gwen that made his wolf very cautious. The beast feared nothing yet he backed away from Gwen. The wolf watched Gwen carefully, he was still and quiet. It wasn’t that the wolf didn’t like Gwen as he found her voice soothing and and he liked her scent. As a rule Zander was good at reading and predicting people. But he couldn’t quite grasp what was troubling his wolf about Gwen.
I absolutely loved this book. I found nothing to complain about. I loved how Gwen was determined to stick up for Andie even though she was being harassed and threatened. I absolutely loved Zander and Gwen together. I loved how they were both wounded who help both help people at a distance. I loved how Zander’s pack really came to care about Gwen. I didn’t like Corey at all but I don’t believe we were suppose to he is just a complete immature egotistical butt. There was: family drama, shifters, prejudice action, drama, suspense, intrigue, danger, romance and so much more. This was an enjoyable fun read. I smiled at times but also choked up at times while reading this book. Once I started reading this my attention stayed all through this book from beginning to end. I didn’t want to put this down. I loved the characters and the ins and outs of this story and I highly recommend.

I’m a big fan of this author and am so impressed with how her books keep getting better. This was a greater shifter romance because the hero and heroine seemed realistic. This was not a instaromance, they both had issues in their lives that they had to overcome before realizing they were mates. I also liked that there was more to the story than just romance, as I like the subplot too. It was also fun to see familiar characters and meet some new ones that I hope will get stories too. If you want a great shifter romance I highly recommend this book
