This children's book has its issues deciding what message it is really trying to give. The main theme is bullying is wrong, but it also gets mixed up with telling lies just makes things worse and while set in a zoo doing less that likely jobs make the whole thing difficult for it to give its message clearly and uncluttered by the extras.
A shame really, my daughter enjoyed it but didn't pick up the full message without some reinforcements.

This book had a good message but the storyline wasn’t as engaging as I had hoped.

It's entertaining enough, but I can't believe the zoo would allow children to do any of those chores, for any reason. And bullies most certainly are not going to be allowed if they behaved the way Bo did. Not very realistic fantasy story. Younger kids might enjoy it. Christian families might enjoy the book/ as it has Bible verses at beginning and end.

The idea was good. The moral of the story even better. I enjoyed the pictures but it was too long. The passing was slow and I can't see my students reading this for fun. I know the story was a rough one but maybe adding more comedy would help.

This was an ok read. The lesson it teaches kids is that when you lie, it might seem innocent enough and feel ok to have done. But one lie quickly turns into another and then another until you are forced to tell the truth and have to deal with the consequences, which are never fun or make it worth having told the lie in the first place. It also address bullying, but not in so much deepth.

I always hate being negative in reviews. But i feel the story didnt really attract me. Maybe it was the writing style, maybe its just me, but it didnt seem to flow quite right. Plus the illustrations arent that good but who am I to judge. They are still so much better than I could have done.
