I quickly became a fan of this series with the first book and knew that all of the characters would be ones I enjoy reading about. Even Dax who was a much smaller secondary character that we only got little glimpses of. His book takes on a whole new setting and leaves behind the Ohio bar that he owns.

In Man Candy Dax takes a break from his stressful life as a bar owner and decides to go camping to get some much needed relaxing done. What wasn't in his plans though was Becca, who with only one look entices Dax enough for him to open his cabin to her when a storm blows in and she can't make it back to her home.

These two had some sizzling chemistry together. I loved both of them and their relationship that was so friend-like and how they quickly became so comfortable with one another. Yet at the same time we got to see those moments where Becca was like a school girl with a crush. Those were the moments that had me loving her character because that vulnerable side to her was such a contradiction to the confident woman the knocked on Dax's cabin door in the middle of a storm. Whenever Becca became unsure of herself Dax was right there giving her a confidence boost and it was the best thing about his character, I just loved how sweet he was and how he didn't push Becca for more than she was willing to give at any point.

Bottom line, I loved this book and if you haven't read anything from this series or author this would be a good one to start with. It's not the first in the series but can still be read as a standalone if remote cabin smexy scenes are what interests you.

Kindness is a dwindling resource, This the first passage that I highlighted from this book and it is a theme that I appreciated while reading this story. There was a lot of kindness, comedy ( "having enough food and provisions for a nuclear fallout, best not to ask"!!!) family, romance and tons of chemistry between Becca and Dax.
I thought all the of the characters were well developed ( with the exception of Tad, I would like to know why he is the way he is) Becca's parents were a treat and her dad and the clocks a hoot. A very fun addition to the series.

I enjoyed this book even though it took me a while to warm up to the heroine, Becca. She just can’t figure out what to do in her life and, after having spent several years, wandering around the country working at various jobs, she’s ended up living in her brother’s spare room with her little niece and working for her brother at his business managing guest cabins. One evening while arriving late to work and getting chewed out by her brother, she sights some real man candy sitting at the bar. She basically picks him up and they spend a sexy night together.

Dax has just decided to take a fishing and camping break from his life while he recovers from the death of his father. He’s attracted to Becca and ready to move beyond being a one-night stand. He just has to persuade her that she’s worthy of more.

I really liked how Dax stood up for her and helped her to understand her own worth. The setbacks in their relationship are all due to her and her insecurities. I was cheering for Dax to succeed in winning her over and enjoyed going along for the ride.

My only complaint is that Dax seems so much more worthwhile than Becca does. She’s just too immature. But he's definitely a worthy book hero.

Dax is a minor character in the previous two Candy series books. I've been in love with the series from the start and was happy to discover that Ms. Lemmon had more stories to share. Dax and Becca make an unlikely couple but they suit each other perfectly. Dax shines in this story. He's more encouraging and accepting than the previous stories allowed us to see of him. Becca is talented and gifted in nearly everything she does, her problem is that she hasn't settled on her passion yet. Dax helps her discover what that passion is along with a few other things.

I enjoyed this read, although it's probably my least favorite of the three so far. The stories are all so well-written, sexy hot and honest that it's kinda like saying, "The last Bourne movie was my least favorite." It's Jason Bourne, I mean Jessica Lemmon, folks. Come on, really, they're all good.

Man Candy is the third book in Jessica Lemmon's Real Love series and while it's part of a series, it can definitely be read as a standalone. I've read all three books in this series and this is definitely my favorite.

Dax Vaughn has been dealing with a lot in his life over the past year. He's been handling everything as he needed to, but he's ready for a break, so he heads to Tennessee to stay at a cabin where he can fish, camp and enjoy the outdoors. What he wasn't expecting was to encounter a woman who immediately caught his attention.

Becca Stone is trying to figure out what she wants to do with her life. She's tried several things, but currently she's living with and working for her brother at his bar and helping with other things where she can. When she encounters Dax at the bar, she immediately takes notice of him and his Magic Mike like looks.

As the two begin to talk, the chemistry between them is undeniable. They agree to one night, but is that where it will end or will they keep things going the entire time that Dax is staying at the cabin? Or will Becca's commitment issues cause her to run before anything really gets started?

This book was about finding out what you really want to do with your life and going after it. It doesn't have to look like anything you planned. The chemistry between Becca and Dax is off the charts and the book is witty, fun and had great banter. I enjoyed this book and would recommend it.

Loved this book and love the series so far. Cat wait for more

What a fun books! This series completely makes me laugh and this installment was no different. Dax meets Becca as he’s separating himself from his family for a few weeks. The chemistry sizzled. Becca just wanted one-night and she’d move on. Dax wasn’t ready to let her go. The dynamics of balancing life, family and relationship you might be in is challenging but it was funny, realistic approach to making that happen.

I would give this 3 1/2 stars. This is my first Jessica Lemmon book and I would definitely read the other 2 in this series as this was a fast, fun, witty and sexy read and I did enjoy it. Dax & Becca had great chemistry and I was rooting for them the whole time. I love a book that can make me swoon and laugh in the span of a few pages and this book definitely does just that.

Hours of bar stool conversation, one night of passion, a rainstorm, days , and a connection that grows into more. I loved the hero in this book. In fact, it was the heroine that I did not like. He was all about giving them a chance and wanting more, while she seemed to be playing a game of I love you-I love you not. She cut off her nose to spite her face. She just irritated me and I could not connect much with her. This is a HEA kind of book. Overall, the story was okay.

“Man Candy” is book three of Jessica Lemmon’s Real Love series and features Dax Vaughn and Becca Stone.

Dax is dealing with the grief of losing his father and Becca is trying to find her true passion in life besides working in her family’s Tennessee resort.
When the two meet, they have explosive chemistry and, while rain pours from the heavens, they find their own version of heaven indoors.

I will admit having a hero and heroine have a sexual encounter so early in a book is not one of my favorite things. I prefer there to be more sexual tension between them that makes the reader wonder when they will give in to their attraction and what causes them to choose to do so.

I’ve heard that not every book an author writes will resonate favorably with every reader. “Man Candy” is that book for me. While I loved the first book (“Eye Candy”) and the fun and flirty writing, “Man Candy” did not seem to have the same elements for me.
I hope the next book in the series, “Rumor Has It”, Ms. Lemmon brings us back to the sexy and flirtatious rom-com that I enjoy.

Becca and Dax. Becca is a person who did not know what direction in life to go. She meets Dax at her brother's mountain resort. Dax just lost his dad and his girlfriend and was in the mood to be alone but Becca had other plans for Dax and their relationship started. First off it was suppose to be a one night stand turned into more. Dax was an understanding, respectful, thoughtful and loyal person. He would stick up for any of his friends in trouble. Dax affected Becca's life. A truly wonderful story of real love.

Becca is a free spirit currently working at her brother’s secluded resort. Dax is a restaurateur from Ohio who’s currently getting some much-needed time away. Dax and Becca meet one night at the resort’s bar and immediately hit it off. They head back to his cabin for what’s supposed to be a one-night stand, but things don’t always turn out as expected.

A surprise rainstorm takes down trees and power lines and strands the two in Dax’s cabin. Forced to spend a few days together, Dax and Becca form a connection and decide to extend their one-night stand into a two-week flirtation. But once their two weeks are up, are they going to be ready to let go?

I’m a big fan of Jessica Lemmon’s Real Love series. Eye Candy made use of one of my absolute favorite tropes -- friends-to-lovers -- and had that wonderful will-they-or-won’t-they pull with a lot of backstory between Vince and Jackie. Arm Candy featured Vince’s best friend, Davis, also known as my literary crush of the year. The cynical stock analyst was able to get fiery bartender Grace to let down her guard just long enough to fall in love, and that, too, was a great story. Here, we’re dumped at some sort of mountain resort with all these characters I’d never heard of before and I’m expected to feel something for them throughout their one-night stand? It’s a different sort of romance, for sure, and it’s one that took a long time for me to get invested in.

At first glance, there’s no apparent connection between this book and the first two books in the series. Rest assured, there is a connection. If you read all three books back-to-back, you’d probably pick it up pretty quickly. But if you read the books as they’re released, with several months in between, the connection doesn’t become really obvious until about 90% in. By that point, did I really care that much about the tenuous connection Dax had to our other main characters? Not really.

In general, I don’t love books about one-night stands. They don’t really do it for me and I wasn’t sure how Lemmon would turn this one-night stand between a flighty heroine and a hero from out of town into something lasting. That’s not to say that she didn’t succeed in her story, but of the three Real Love books that have been released thus far, Man Candy is by far my least favorite.

Now, as always, Lemmon’s writing is good and she’s succeeded in writing an engaging story with likable characters. But, as I said, this just really isn’t my kind of trope. One-night stand romances are somewhere near the bottom of my list, especially in a situation like this, where a girl picks up a total stranger in a bar and follows him to his secluded cabin in the woods. Let’s be honest here -- in real life, Becca would probably be dead by now. Dax might be a total gentleman in the book, but I couldn’t get reality out of my head.

All of that said, though, I did really enjoy the cooking aspect of the book. Personally, I really enjoy cooking and trying new recipes and using weird ingredients. Becca’s recipes sounded amazing! I mean, those fried cheese cube nachos? Sign me up. That mouth-watering quesadilla? Yes, please. Where can I get those recipes?

In the end, I think everything wrapped up a bit too neatly given the personalities of the characters. Man Candy is, in my opinion, the weakest of the series. It’s still good. It’s just not great. If there’s to be a fourth book in the Real Love series, I sure hope it features Dax’s friend Barrett!

I'm still loving this series! Fun, cute, sexy... it's a great quick read. Loving all the candy's!

3.5 Stars
The book follows hot as sin “Magic Mike” lookalike Dax Vaughn who arrives on Becca Stone’s mountain retreat looking for peace and quiet. What he gets is a two week “one night” stand providing multiple orgasms to a fantastic cook with a dancer’s body (Becca). The story was lovely, and I loved Dax, however I was not swept up in their romance. I could not relate to either Becca and I found her to be emotionless, and although the sex scenes were super hot, I found them to be passionless. That said the last 25% of the book things started to feel right and I found that I was more invested in both them and their relationship and I was looking forward to seeing where the story would take them. Even with all my moaning I must say it was an enjoyable well written entertaining book. I received an advanced copy of this book from the publisher via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

Thank you Loveswept for providing an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

I like the story but I wasn't as hooked as the previous book. Dax Vaughn goes on a camping trip to wind up the he meets Becca Stone in a bar and they hooked up for a night. Dax was drawn and starts pursuing her but Becca has committment issues and she tends to run away. The story has a potential but Dax and Becca's romance lacked the chemistry. The sexy times may be steamy but it's not enough to ignite their romance. Plus, I am annoyed with Becca. She's immature and I don't buy most of her reasons.

In the end, I'm glad these two got together and worked on with their drama. Overall, this is a quick-paced read and if not for Dax, I wouldn't be able to finish this book. He's such a fine and sexy man. Out of the three books in Real Love series, this is my least favorite. Arm Candy still wins my heart.

I absolutely love Jessica Lemmon's writing and this book did not disappoint. Although this book is part of a series, it can easily be read as a standalone. This story follows Dax and Becca through a blizzard and is hot and steamy. Great book!

"Tell me what I want to hear Princess." "Yes" Then my kindle melted and that is Dax and Becca.

Dax needs a vacation so he books 2 weeks away at Becca's brothers Mountain Lodge, packed his hiking, camping, fishing and any other gear he could pack in his Jeep and left Ohio and his two bars in the capable hands of their managers. His mother is now settled after Dax/s father died a couple months ago, he's still telling from that loss and his best friend who is just a tad obnoxious is crashed on his couch in Dax's one bedroom apartment- again. Dax needs peace and quiet. Books the cabin the furthest away from the Lodge and when he arrives during one heck of a monsoon is relaxing in the bar. Quietly and alone.
In walks our Becca. All legs and sass and late because of the weather and she works here for her brother and he rudely dresses her down and fires her in front of the guests. To add to that, he doesn't stop there. Tad- the name fits him so well... is a real dick. He's a whiney, bratty jerk and God bless his wife, I don't know how she can stand him. When Tad leaves to go home, Becca has already spotted Dax and decides to go for it. She can do one night. That's her thing. Becca doesn't have a good track record, with work, men and life in general. Her self esteem stinks. Dax is just what she needs.
When the weather has these two stuck together for several days and Dax is slowly relaxing and this one night turns into several and then some, they take hikes, fish and pretty much live like normal folks. Becca does have a gift, she's got a couple, but the one that Dax is taken with his her cooking.
She just makes up recipes and she wows him with her food. He does so much for her. These two steam up whatever space they're in and even that was just smooth. But don't cross Dax. I love how he speaks for Becca at a family dinner and puts Tad in his place. Once he sees the family dynamic he understands.
I love this book, my favorite of the Real Love series. Dax is wise, very aware of Becca and her feelings, has a great grasp on people and he's a real man. I loved Becca too. She's real. What she sees as her shortcomings are very real issues we all face at some point. I loved how their relationship evolved, even the monsoon weather! Like Jessica said, when things get tense, she got teary eyed. I wasn't sure what I felt, but it was like the bottom just fell out for me. Completely lost. As to what happens... read the book. There's much to read there. I love a man who knows what he wants and isn't afraid to go after it, book or not.
Jessica, you really hit this one out of the park and it's fantastic. I wish I could give it more than 5 stars and I'll read it again. My favorite in the series. It's a great read for anyone.

This one was SO good! It's different from the others in the series, not only in location, but in feeling as well. Dax and Becca's story was one of pain and healing, and I cried a little at the end. I absolutely love this series and would highly recommend it!
