I really enjoyed this instalment of the Comfort Food Cafe series. Although it takes the sadness of Dementia and Alzheimer's, it does so gently with humour and love. It gives good insight into the difficulties of living with a beloved family member who has taken victim to this awful disease. Willow and her story are the centre of this book, but all the regulars from the other books reappear like old friends. Looking forward to the next in this series. I recommend them all

I really enjoy the author's style of writing. I loved this book so much that I have read all the sequels as well. The characters were vivid and likeable, the setting was wonderful and the idea of having somewhere to go where you will be cared for and nurtured was heart warming. I wish I had somewhere to go to like the Comfort Food Cafe!

A fabulous read and edition to the Comfort Food Cafe series.

As a Dementia and Alzheimer's carer, I felt the subject was approached with care and attention giving a great insight to this awful disease.

It was a delight getting to know Willow and her story as well as catching up with the regulars from Budbury.

I've read all the books in the Comfort Food Cafe series and enjoyed them all. Sunshine At The CFC was a bit slow to start with but eventually I got into it.
Willow, the main subject is an established character who has appeared in the other books and we already knew much of her backstory from there.
I would recommend this as an uplifting and cosy read.

An exceptional and funny book, with believable characters, a strong plot, and a believable ending. Willow comes from an unusually diverse family, but is caring for her mother with dementia. Then she falls in love, and everything unravels.

Willow, the pink haired waitress from the Comfort Cafe, gets her own story this time. Willow is struggling with caring for her mum, lynn, who has Alzheimer’s. Willow starts a new cleaning job at a big house where she meets shy, geeky Tom and she is smitten. Can willow process her relationship into her life doing everything herself.

This was chick lit at its finest! A beautiful story and such an emotional ride I bloody loved it! Thank you to netgalley and the publishers for this arc in exchange for my honest review.

This the first book in this series and author that I have read. After reading some reviews I was expecting a great read and was rather disappointed. I found the writing very verbose and simplistic and had difficulty in getting involved.. Might have been more enjoyable if I had read some of the others.

An easy unchallenging read, comfort I. A book. Read this during hot weather with time to relax and it fitted the bill beautifully. I would not buy it because it’s a book that I would read once and sadly probably forget. A good buy for a present .

Another first class heart warming read.
One of those books it's so easy to get lost in
Forget what is going on in the world, get yourself the biggest sun lounger and drinks and snacks and get stuck in.
I really don't think you'll be disappointed.
I discovered that this was the 4th book in this series. I believe now each book covers a different character so I don't feel I lost out on anything really by not reading them in order.

These are certainly the kind of books you want to chill out with be it a beautiful summer day or wet and cold winter day, you can certainly get lost in the book, all you need is somewhere comfy to read and a do not disturb sign.

So glad to see there are more in this series. A thoroughly enjoyable read and loving the fact that each book features on a different character. Will be downloading the others for sure.
The main family are lovely and it’s been great getting to know them and the other quirky characters in the village.
Sounds like a lovely place to escape to.

A cool, comforting and satisfying Summer read:
"Sunshine at the Comfort Food Café", is the fourth book in the very successful Comfort Food Café series. The concept is idealistic but provides an excellent "feel good" factor: there are no nasty people, everyone can be taken at face value. The characters are all good people and whilst this novel is not for readers looking for a thrill or a serial killer on the loose, the series engenders a sense of peace with the world. Set in Dorset even the weather is forgiving. I was drawn into the novel by the delightful flowing prose. Once you've started the novel you are captured and before you know it you are nearing the end.
In previous novels the author, Debbie Johnson focuses on an issue and entwines it into the novel. In "Sunshine" that issue is the care of Alzheimer's sufferers.
"Sunshine", like earlier novels in the series, falls into the category of romantic fiction. I found it a refreshing change from that which I would normally read.
The novel may be a romantic one, but make no mistake about it, Debbie Johnson deals with the issue of caring for Alzheimer sufferers with a delicate and exceptionally well-informed touch. She has done her homework. I recognised so many of the traits described of Willow's Mum in my own mother. And the author deftly introduces a comic touch into the story.
The storyline itself is quite simple: Willow is the sole carer for her Mum (who has early stage Alzheimer's) , her siblings having left home (and in some cases the country). The siblings are not aware of Mum's condition. Mainly because Willow hasn't had the time to locate and tell them. She struggles on her own. Willow's time is split between her part-time job at the Comfort Food Café and caring for Mum. In her mid-twenties, she has no time for romance. But then she meets Tom. And everything changes. Or it would do, if Willow can juggle the Care of her mother with work and romance. Tom, to whom Willow becomes romantically attached, is nothing but resourceful and the reader would be a disappointed one if this situation could not be resolved.
"Sunshine" features the usual Café characters: Cherie, Frank, Laura, Max and the rest of the Café community. A delightful read. I felt contented at the end. This is a novel for readers who like their romance entwined with a topical issue.

I love everything about this series. The characters, the location, the food! This latest installment is just as good as the previous.
I've become a big fan of Debbie Johnson's writing and I'm looking forward to whatever she does next.
Thank you for the advanced read.

An easy summer read, with all the comfort of a warm hug. Following the relationships of the residents of the Comfort Cafe and how they welcome newcomers into the fold is nourishing for the soul. Taking you away from the harsh realities of the outside world Comfort Cafe is beach living as we all see it.

Having read "Summer at the Comfort Food Cafe" I was quite prepared to indulge myself in some further comfort reading. A happy tale without raising any great demands on the reader. The author manager sufficient characterization to make the reader interested in the cast of characters - I am left with the feeling that these are real people or an amalgam of people actually known to the writer. Glad I read it.

I really enjoyed the story in this book and learning about Willow and her family. My only issue is the author over described everything and I food myself skimming over sections. I didn't notice this in previous books in the series.

I really enjoyed this book and quickly felt part of this community. The story centres on Willow a waitress at the Comfort Food Cafe a cafe overlooking the beach that has a host of regular customers. Willow struggles juggling the job at the cafe, a cleaning business and looking after her Mum, Lynnie, who is always forgetting things.
It is a beautiful study on mother and daughter love and the delights of a community that really care for each other.
Willow meets the man of her dreams but has she got room in her life for another complication. A great book to escape with.
