Thank you so much for the opportunity to review this book and to be an early reader via NetGalley! However, I will not be writing a review for this title at this time, as my reading preferences have since changed somewhat. In the event that I decide to review the book in the future, I will make sure to purchase a copy for myself or borrow it from a library. Once again, thank you so much for providing me with early access to this title. I truly appreciate it. Please feel free to contact me with any follow-up questions or concerns.

My husband and I are expecting our first child, and we often talk about our faux "family crest" that we would invent. It would be covered in pizza rolls, nods to Doctor Who, reading, strawberries, color- the things that make "us," us.

I requested this book to review a while ago, but since this discussion with my husband, was prompted to revisit this book (perfect title, right?).

I found this book to be refreshing- lots of good, empowering advice, without too heavy a hand. I found myself laughing out loud at many sections. :)

I especially appreciated the section about family drama. Feeling empowered to be yourself, even if you are different from the rest of your family, is SO important. I also enjoyed her section on reclaiming the word "selfish" (SO SO important, and much better #selfcare than our usual face masks and bubble baths).

Now that said, this isn't intended to be a science-backed, psychology-based self help book. This is a woman who has crafted a well-curated series in not giving a f**k, following several years as a book editor. I appreciated her candor and recommendations, like a close friend sharing advice over a cocktail. Highly recommend!

Absolutely worth reading, whether you've read her other books or not. I highly recommend the audio edition, but print or audio, this is a little gem of a book. Sarah Knight's advice is practical and clear, and gives some of us the tacit -- well, now explicit -- permission to be who we are, for ourselves. This book is not long, nor demanding, nor confusing, as so many others are. Knight's message is clear and supported, as well as supportive.

Unfortunately, the book didn't offer anything new and seemed to be comprised mainly of go-girl platitudes. Fine for just-out-of-college readers who need a boost of confidence, perhaps.

This book is a clear reminder that you are enough, and doing things because you “should” may not be best for you. The title says it all, but this book is a down to earth reminder (sometimes in profane words).

Everyone can learn something by looking at their lives from a different perspective and what better perspective than for yourself!

Thank you to Netgalley for the opportunity to read and review an ARC of this book and I am providing my honest review.

Funny and practical this was a great read. I would recommend for self-help or easy reading.

This was the first book I read by Sarah Knight. It was enjoyable and I’d like to read her first 2 books of this trilogy because they were mentioned so much in this book. You can never go wrong reading a self acceptance book, and with humor and rants added in, its an enjoyable read. I like Ms Knights no nonsense attitude in just being yourself and getting over society’s judgements.

I found this book to be not only madcap funny but also insightful and useful and that is an awesome combination ! Being the mother of two and the wife of one, I struggle constantly with balancing all the "shoulds " in my life with the " wants " in my heart. This book helps answer that constant dilemma. It especially helps me because I am an introvert constantly worrying about other people's opinions. Thank you Sarah Knight - I will definitely read your other books too. Wicked funny!

Thank you to Net Galley for providing me with an arc in exchange for my honest review.

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for a copy of this book - all thoughts and opinions are my own.

This book is a terrific third book from Sarah Knight, and arguably could be considered a love letter TO YOURSELF. I really loved this book, because I really love any sort of advice that centers around just genuinely being comfortable with you, exactly as you are, exactly how you want to be, without judgement. This book serves up whole heaping piles of this - being confident in letting your own personal freak flag fly, and spending more of your time focusing on you vs. focusing on what other people think about you. As Sarah Knight so eloquently writes, "You can't please everyone, so you've got to please yourself."

There are definitely references back to the first two books that Sarah has written, but done in a way that ties the overarching ideas from all the books together, into a current theme of how to just live your life for yourself, on your own terms. Of course, this was also done with Sarah's particular brand of perfectly timed comedic humor. Its like grabbing a glass of wine with your bestie, and having a good heart to heart about how to live your best life.

I would absolutely recommend that people read this one if your looking for a little motivation, a little inspiration or just a good read written by an author that you wouldn't mind tossing back a few tequila's with, and heading out to find some traffic cones.

The self-styled "anti-guru" Sarah Knight adds another volume to her quirky, profanity-laden self-help series with You Do You.

The focus, as you can guess from the title, is the art of allowing your authentic self to shine through without feeling guilt or being so far out of the social norms that you border on "psychopath."

I enjoyed You Do You, but I felt it wasn't as strong as Knight's other titles because she spends so much time rehashing material she has already covered elsewhere.

That being said, I like Knight's style, her famous diagrams and her illuminating stories. This is an author who has been there, done that and cussed about it.

While this seemed like a mix of her two previous novels, I thought You Do You was packed with worthwhile tips, advice, and straightforward truth. I thought this was a great introduction into Sarah Knight and her "anti-guru" ways. I enjoyed that it wasn't such a serious book, it was lighthearted, humorous, and felt like having a conversation with a very blunt, but loving friend.

I really enjoyed this book. As an introvert, this touched on so many issues & situations I’ve found myself in. It was spot on. I found myself saying “Yes, that’s me!” Highly recommend.

I adored this book! Her anecdotes are funny and give you practical solutions and reasons to "do you".

You Do You is an entertaining self-help book by self proclaimed anti-guru Sarah Knight. It offers good advice for how to live a happier life (with many funny anecdotes), aimed at people with perfectionist tendencies. If you would describe yourself as a perfectionist, this is a fun read that may in fact make you a happier person... and more certainly a nicer person for others to be around!

I'm a big fan of Sarah Knight's books. Well, I'm actually just a big fan of Sarah Knight. I love her TED talk, her tweets, her writing style, her sense of humor, and her newsletters. So when I saw that she had a new book coming out, I could not WAIT to read it! And when Netgalley sent me a copy to review, I practically jumped out of my skin, I was so excited. HUGE GIGANTIC thank-you's to Netgalley and Little, Brown and Company for sending me a copy...and making this fan girl's day.

I'll try to mop up my drool, stop swooning, and write a proper review now. 😁

You Do You: How to Be Who You Are and Use What You've Got to Get What You Want is the third in Knight's No F*cks Given trilogy of fabulous self-help guides, following The Life Changing Magic of Not Giving a F*ck and Get You Sh*t Together.

In this book, our favorite "anti-guru" details how to let your freak flag fly, and be yourself...eschewing the norm, and figuring out how to respond to the pressures of well-meaning (and some not so well-meaning) people who always have an idea of what you should be doing, wearing, how you should be behaving, etc.

Although I would say that, out of all of her books, this one is maybe the least pithy? Or maybe it's the one that I personally have to do the most work with?? I felt like I needed to highlight more, and probably need to give this one a third reading, instead of just a second one, like I did with the other two. Now, that's not saying that it isn't as good...or that I didn't enjoy it as much as the other ones. I just felt like it maybe hit more of a nerve, or was a little more serious than the other ones??

But this is still the same construction cone-wearing, swear word tossing lady...and this time she's really trying to get us to stop listening to "Judgy McJudgerson". I personally need to hear things like "There is nothing wrong with liking things the way you like them and asking for what you want." and "You don't get what you don't ask for." It doesn't matter how many times I read those things in books, I seem to need to hear them a few more times. And Knight's trademark sassy delivery seems to resonate so well with me, that for some reason her sayings stick.

The book goes over Do's and Don'ts, Wills and Won'ts, Shoulds and Shouldn'ts, along with a whole lot of discussion on why it's not a bad thing to be labelled "difficult". I think one of the stories that stands out to me the most involves her discussing the issues she's had with anxiety. I have a very good friend who struggles with debilitating panic attacks. Anyway, Sarah Knight shares that she snuck a litter box and craft sand into her office at work, so that when she got overly stressed, she could take her shoes off and place her feet in the sand...close her eyes, and imagine she was on the beach. She used that tactic to help ease her anxiety, so she could get over it and get on with her day. Did people probably think she was weird because she had a litter box full of sand under her desk?? I'm sure they did. Did she give two craps about it?? Nope. That is something to ASPIRE TO.

So, I highly recommend this book...as I do the other two in her No F*cks Given trilogy. I think they're amazing books that tell some terrific truths in a unique and saucy voice that speaks to me, like the girlfriend/sister you always wanted. Plus, she makes me laugh maniacally...at weird times, which tends to scare my dog and weird out my husband. Buy yourself a copy, and then buy a copy for your best friend. They'd make good Christmas gifts.

I received this book from Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.

What an entertaining book! Sarah Knight does a great job of weaving humor into very good life advice. There is a bit of language, so sorry if you don’t like that.

A bit of advice: read the footnotes! They’re hilarious. And the YouTube link to her TEDx talk. Take the time to watch it.
