I love this. It's a fast, easy read but packed to the hilt with adventure (no pun intended)! Anyone who loves adventure, magical creatures and easy banter will enjoy this book. Definitely, a must-read for those who love playing games like Dungeon & Dragons!

Thanks to Net Galley and the publisher for the ARC.

Fortunately, this was a short read. Two Moons Waning would have benefited from a few more rounds of revision. The main character is a textbook example of a Mary Sue type. The plot is pretty much non-existent (why where Alden and Dexter in the mountains? Why was it OK to abandon whatever their purpose was to go chasing a magical valley full of gold? The main character seriously decides to go chasing after this magical valley after hearing a strange unconscious woman say the valley's name in her sleep?). Heavy-handed exposition dominates the early narrative, and keeps coming back in page-long diatribes. The villains feel like they're straight out of Rocky and Bullwinkle. Did I mention that the main character is an egregious Mary Sue yet, because that really can't be stressed enough.

It's clear that the auhor spent a lot of time developing this fantasy world. It's a shame to see that effort rushed through like has been done. This felt like a 2nd or 3rd draft, and a few more rounds of revision and restructuring would have served this book well.

I would recommend against reading this one.
