I've repeatedly tried to finish reading this book, and I just can't. It's poorly written, is in need of editing, and has no flow. The premise is interesting, but the execution is poor. Unable to finish.

New author for me and interesting book with mystery and romance.

Book from netgalley and bought on amazon with thanks. Opinions are entirely my own.

Hokee Wolf is a Native American shaman with abilities which help him be a good detective. The police ask him to help on a case of robbery. A New York City reporter is sent out to do a story on the robbery and together they work to solve the case.
While the story-line is good and the information shared about Native American culture and life is accurate the addition of the New York reporter was an unnecessary and stereotypical love interest character that really didn't add much for the story. The main character,Hokee, was interesting. While definitely not on the same level as Tony Hillerman, Mr. Viehweg did create a good story .

A very different read for me and therefore one I had trouble getting into. The overall concept of the story is good, but is a rather slow and very in depth read.
I’m sure this type of book will appeal to many readers, but is wasn’t my preferred style of writing.
