This is a re-release of two Debbie Macomber's books. They are light romantic stories that could be just what you are looking for in an easy to read romance. If you are looking for a light happily ever after read then pick this book up.

Well, my eARC of An Engagement in Seattle ended up being a copy of Say My Name by a completely different author - which was also good! I managed to get a finished copy of Engagement from the library, and I'm very glad I did - this was just what I needed for a light, sweet, easy to read distraction. As always, Debbie Macomber is one of my favorites in Romance.

4 Stars! Debbie Macomber does it again! First, full disclosure, I have been reading Mrs. Macomber for years and love her writing! She has done it again with An Engagement in Seattle! The chemistry (hahha - irony) between Aleksandr and Julia was beautiful. I love marriage of convenience stories and this was beautifully done. It was funny, beautiful, and gorgeously written by this phenomenal author.

Debbie Macomber is a staple of the romance genre. I love a good anthology and these two stories are exactly what I needed. Emotional, suspenseful at times, strong characters ... While these books seems typical in nature, as a huge of Nora Roberts and Danielle Steel, I will always recommend Macomber's works as well.

Author Debbie Macomber does it again with her talented writing and her plots that just have me diving in and not wanting to come back up for air. I love her books so much, I never want to leave the pages. The setting of this one is one of my favs.

When I started reading the book I had very high expectations, unfortunately with the passing of the pages my excitement was diminishing and in the end I ended up a little disappointed with the book. Although the author's writing is very good, I could not identify myself with any of the characters, so maybe I have not been able to take advantage of reading or agree with some of the characters' attitudes, but I recommend reading, so you can draw your own conclusions .

This book was first published in 2011. It's part of the From this Day forward series. The two books in this volume are Groom Wanted and Bride Wanted. They are typical Debbie Macomber romances that have two strong couples. The couples in this book both start as marriages of conveniences that grow into love. Groom Wanted has a Russian chemist helping out business owner to save her company. Bride wanted has a man living in Alaska who want companionship and a friend as he's working in a town of 40 people. These are quick easy reads.

Debbie Macomber definitely knows how to write so that the reader is engaged in the story. From the first page until the last it was enjoyable. Thank you to the publisher and NetGalley for allowing me to read and review this book.

This is a typical and predictable Debbie Macomber novel. Fans will love her characters and the storyline though the predictability was too much for me.

I didn't finish this one, sorry. I started it several times but the premise was just not something that struck me.

An enjoyable, well written and entertaining romance. The first one a bit repetitve but very good, the second one really likeable.
Recommended for a cozy afternoon.
Many thanks to Harlequin and Netgalley

This is a light and easy romantic read. Enjoyed reading this at the end of the day

An enjoyable Sunday afternoon read with a couple of twists and turns in this standard Macomber H.E.A. Debbie Macomber fans will devour this one!

2.75 stars
The premise was cute but I found parts awkward and uneasy. The meet cute was nice even, Lesley and Chase started out with a good vibe. But then when it's obvious Lesley is very much not over her ex and it felt like as much as she likes Chase she's not all in. Chase on the other hand is smitten and his bride search not too successful. They both had reasons to get married and not totally honest why.
Well as expected with the scenario it could be a The whole indecisive part was on Lesley though. Especially when her ex comes into the picture again. There was angst there but it never fully got fleshed out. The engagement never felt all there then boom married. But getting married seems to have solidified whatever was amiss between them. I suppose this was meant to be a fast story but I think there was stuff missing transition wise. I kept reading so it must have some draw and waiting for something to happen.

I always love Debbie Macomber's stories and An Engagement in Seattle is certainly a delightful one.
Chase and Lesley are very likable characters that I instantly fell in love with. Chase was genuinely a good man, he was just desperate to find himself a wife before returning to him hometown in Alaska. And how could you not enjoy Lesley. I felt such a strong connection to her as she suffered from dealing with her ex-fiance Tony and the struggle with still seeing him at the school in which they both taught.
This story is perfect for any age. I love that Debbie's stories stay current with today yet she always mentions something about knitting. It's a trademark of hers and one that I always look forward to reading about. Her characters are always honest and genuine and she leaves you with a smile on your face by the end of the story.

I like a hokey, predictable romance once in a while, but this one left a lot to be desired. I liked the Lesley-Chase meet cute. I didn’t like the pretense and forced feel of the romance that followed. I liked Chase – until he got just too smarmy for me. And I liked Lesley until I realized that I wasn’t going to see any depth later in the book, because character development stalled at 30-40%. What truly disappointed me was the chauvinism in this book. I have very traditional values, but that doesn’t mean I expect women to be viewed as objects, as I felt the women in this book were portrayed.
If you can overlook those things – and you’re in the mood for a clean, sweet romance, this might be for you.

What an interesting concept the author used putting up a bill board to advertise for a wife, made me think this guy must have a lot of money. Then the response to the advertisement, kind of shocking and sad in some ways, but life has a way of intercepting all of this, and thus the story we embark on.
This is not the usual boy meets girl story and then happy ending, but it does have a lot of twists and turns and then Alaska enters the fold, and not just a city in the big state, but a blip on the map. A real shock for someone who has lived in a town or even the city, talk about rural!
We have quite the tale woven here, and some sour grapes, in the form of a former Finance’, now married, did not see all that happens coming, and makes for a great read.
I received this book through Net Galley and the Publisher Harlequin and was not required to give a positive review.

Two books in one; the second was worth getting hold of the volume for, the first a bit repetitive. Full review in my linked blog post below.

If you want to read a romance author who will always touch your heart with her words this is the author for you. In this book you'll be delighted with two stories of people in search of marriage. Neither is conventional but both will have you cheering for love in the end. Happiness could be a billboard away so jump in and see where the romance takes you and if each couple will end up with their happily ever after!!!

This book seems to be a bit different from what you normally expect from Debbie Macomber. It was interesting, I liked it.
