In the swamps of the Deep South, a young teenaged girl, Pearl is being raised by her father and two other men, who teach her all she needs to know about surviving off the grid in the wilderness. Her life isn’t easy, but she’s content. Then she meets Main Boy, a rich kid with an attitude who tells Pearl his father owns the land where she and her makeshift family live. Terrified of losing all she knows and loves, Pearl is willing to let herself be drawn into Main Boy’s twisted life. This is a Southern Gothic with a dark, moody and eventually explosive ending. Poetic, beautiful and disturbing
