Laughed and cried my way through this delightful page turner. I did skip the sex scene. I am eager to read about more of the Westerlys. Lots of family angst.

In a genre that can be fairly redundant, Up for Heir is a refreshing and fairly new story. It's an easy read but I was definitely invested in Hailey's story and rooting for the different relationships in her life to work out. I even found myself looking forward to my commute as it meant it was time to find out what would happen next.

DNF at 29%. I tried, but with real world events going on right now, I just can't handle reading a book where the heroine is actively being stalked, harassed, and assaulted by an ex. I just can't. The hero also crossed some lines for me. I really liked the chemistry between the main characters from the beginning but it wasn't enough to keep me going.

Fun, easy second chance romance following Spencer Westerly and Hailey Tiverton, childhood sweethearts and best friends who split up during college due to immaturity and a lack of communication.

This is a nice second chance love story with all the emotion and heart you hope for in a romance. It is about Spencer Westerly, who more than anyone deserves a second chance at love and happiness. After having the bomb dropped on him in the first book about his father, Spencer has become such an angry, bitter soul who takes his anger out on everyone. Delinda, his meddling grandmother, brings back the only girl he ever loved, his childhood sweetheart, Hailey in hopes to make him happy again. And the rest as they say is history. Well, obviously a lot more happens once Hailey comes back into Spencer's life; and as true to life, it isn't always rainbows and unicorns. There is also a wonderful array of supporting characters in this book that will make you mad, make you laugh and fill your heart. I really enjoyed this book.
I received an ARC of this book from Netgalley in exchange for my honest review.

Such a wonderful story! Ruth Cardello always brings her sexy, humor and a smidgen of angst. Ruth never disappoints and she continues wowing us with this story. Grab a copy and enjoy a glass of wine, some popcorn, and a great book!

Patrick MacGregor loved the ladies and loved his life just the way it was, answering to no one and charming his way through life. He vowed no woman would tie him down until he lays eyes on Charlotte Cunningham. Charlotte knew Patrick was like every other scoundrel she has met and vowed she needed no man in her life.

Paula Quinn can write a Highland romance like nobody else! The story moves very quickly from page one until you get to the end. Every scene is very descriptive and you feel like you are brought right into the story. The plot moves very quickly and keeps your interest all through the book. The hero is very strong and so full of confidence and charm you can’t help but love him. The heroine has many strengths of her own but is not so overwhelming in her relationship with the hero and they are very well balanced in their role with each other. There is a very nice twist to the plot that you definitely don’t see coming toward the end of the story that I just loved! This author has done a great job with this addition to the MacGregor family and I thoroughly enjoyed this story.

This was a great 2nd story in the series. Its a good 2nd chance story blending family and friends and while it can stand alone. Definitely read book 1 so you understand what happened before this story as it has some very important things happening that occurred in the 1st book.

This is Spencer's story, in the first book he discovers that his step dad was his real father and he is not a Westerly at all. His evil grandmother is the one who spills the beans because she figures he must know but oops he didn't. To top it off his fiancee was stolen by his estranged brother Brett. Now single he is remembering his first love Hailey thanks to a time machine/reality invention his partner wants to sell.

Meanwhile the evil grandmother Delinda has hired Hailey, said Spencer's ex from college who just lost her brother and is now taking care of her young niece who is grieving for her parents. And thats how Hailey and Spencer meet again.

This story was fun, romantic and well good. I enjoyed Delinda and seeing all the Westerly's again. The writing was wonderful as all books by this author. And I really enjoyed the plot and how long it took to find out Hailey works for the grandmother.

Up for Heir is a fabulous read. I love the Westerly family. Delinda is trying bring her torn family back together and you feel for her. She may be brash but I love her. Now you first meet Spencer in book one: In The Heir. As secrets come out you start to really feel for him. In Up for Heir, Spencer is still trying to figure out who he is and what he's going to do now that he knows the truth. You get a meddling family that wont let him go and boom a fabulous love story unravels. Hailey and Skye I love to pieces. They are one strong aunt/niece team. They pulled at my heart strings some and I enjoyed every minute. Spencer and Hailey love seemed stronger then ever even though misunderstandings pulled them apart. I love second chances and this one is kind of magical. I love Ruth Cardello and I really can't wait for more of the Westerly clan.

I DNFed this one. The interference from Spencer's grandma just grated on my nerves and I couldn't finish as I was constantly being so frustrated by her. Hailey was a good character and so was Spencer but overall I couldn't connect with the book. For the sake of other readers, they may find the grandma endearing, it just did not come across that way to me.

Thank you for the opportunity.

Spencer’s been a jerk to everyone lately and his grandmother wants to make things right after she tore his world apart. Finding his former love, Hailey and bringing her back into his life could either solve everyone’s problems or tear them all apart forever. Hailey has had her fair share of heartbreak in the last year when her beloved brother and sister in law were killed and left her the guardian of her niece, Skye. Will Spencer and Hailey make it this time with all of the family interference?

Fun, easy second chance romance following Spencer Westerly and Hailey Tiverton, childhood sweethearts and best friends who split up during college due to immaturity and a lack of communication. Whilst Spencer became a self made millionaire who doesn't need his family's wealth, Hailey struggled through the loss of all her family and becomes the sole guardian of her beautiful niece, Skye. Add into the mix an interfering grandmother only wanting the best for her grandson and there's trouble a brewing! Told in mainly dual POV with a few others in the mix, some wonderful supporting characters, Delinda, Skye and Michael to name but a few. I loved the relationships within Delinda’s household and Skye and Delinda together just made my heart melt. The chemistry and relationship between Spencer and Hailey, although palpable, romantic and sexy was not the deal breaker for me in this book. Skye and Delinda sealed the deal for me. Cute and emotional rolled into one, a wonderful read.

I enjoyed the story of Spencer and Hailey. I liked that they had a previous romance and reconnected after many years when they were more mature and better able to handle a relationship. The two had a lot of chemistry and heat in their romance. I liked the friendship that Hailey developed with Delinda and thought the stubborn, but kind-hearted portrayal of Delinda was spot on. However, I never fully warmed up to the character of Hailey. Her reluctance with Spencer got irritating after awhile and I just didn't connect with her character the way I usually do in a book. All in all, it was a nice read.

The family dynamic in this series is compelling, and the romance in the books is both sweet and sexy. You will be hooked from the first page with this one, though I do recommend reading the first book in the series first... it gives important back story and helps you to understand the family better.

I will start by saying I am a fan of just about anything this author writes. This was a good story in the series, but it fell into the predictable mold for me. No intrigue really, just an unrealistic story with a happy ending.

Spencer Westerly fell in love, deeply with Hailey Tiverton in college, she understood him, his drive, his geekiness. Spencer being young, lets it all come to a messy end, a missed chance, a misunderstanding. He went on to build his world and business, becoming what he thought would take his mind off his first love, and his batcrazy family. Spencer's grandmother wants to make amends starting with Spencer, engineering a second chance for him to meet Hailey, the one who made him truely happy. Spencer is angry, stubborn and determined to not heal, but Hailey though not aware her employer is Spencer's estranged grandmother, and after so much happening to her, she's not sure ..... Will Delinda's plan work, is she sincere, can old hurts heal, with a 7 year old leading the way, honesty, love and family can pull it back. Loved this, I didn't want to read the chapters where it all kicked off, nor did I want to read it fast as I would finish it sooner....... gotta be good for that to happen!
