I really wish I would of read this closer to the Holidays but I am not complaining. Thank You NetGalley for approving my wish. I just loved this graphic novel. The story line is unique and fun. The Illustrations are fun and happy. The story follows Santa's daughter Holly and Princess Frostina on their adventure to Undertown. They meet lots of different characters along the way. I can't wait to read the next volume. I would recommend this to all ages.

I am giving this imaginative, unique and captivating juvenile graphic novel a 4, because I think the kids will love it. They will readily identify with Santa's daughter, and her predicaments, as an adventure they would love to be a part of. A little light on plot development, and a little bit hurried in places, but a winner over-all.

So this is basically Monster High, except the children of Santa and the yeti. And kind of less cool than Monster High (or Descendants, or Ever After High...) Children of fairy tale characters has gotten to be a pretty standard concept, so I was interested to see how someone would interpret that with the children of holiday myths. I wish there had been a broader, more in-depth cast of characters.

A graphic novel about Santa's daughter and the Yeti princess becoming a butt-kicking duo, complete with dragons and Krampus and other mythical creatures? Yes, please! This book is super adorable and has a really charming, whimsical holiday feel to it that definitely made me a little more excited for cold weather and Christmas trees!

That said, there was one major issue I had with this graphic novel: the endless bickering between the two girls. At first, it looked like they might be quick pals (or more - I'm so dying to see more LGBTQ+ rep in middle grade books!), but Holly (Santa's daughter) spent the majority of the book belittling and making fun of Frostina (the Yeti princess) for being furry and large. I kept thinking, "Really? The subplot is... Santa's daughter bullying another girl for being furry?" I sincerely hope the author will rethink the girls' relationship before continuing the series.

Delightful story for children about two friends in the magical kingdom of Santa Claus. I used to love those stories when I was a kid and I love reading those from time to time. Holly and Frostina became friends when Frostina visits Polaris and takes a chance to discover Santa's Workshop where toys and coal are produced for children. short story easy to read for the little ones, short chapters and reading help to follow the story, drawings are fantastic, full of color...it looks just how everything you always imagined on your head

5 stars!
There was so much I loved about this book. The story works really well as a graphic novel and I honestly dont think I would have enjoyed it as much if it was just a standard chapter book. Firstly, I noticed that this sets an example of positive body image as the characters are not stick figures. I am definitely pleased about that. The idea of Christmas coal and what it does! I LOVED that! Its such a great idea! I was so excited to see Krampus as apart of this, and that snow dragon! He was totally cute! The big bad meanie is really a softy. So yes, definitely loved this. It was so much fun to read and I can not wait for more in this series!! A wonderful christmas graphic novel.

I am a huge fan of graphic novels, and I love that there are soooo many for young readers. While this is recommended for ages 4 to 8, I think children a bit older would enjoy it too.

This book follows the adventures of Holly, Santa’s daughter. After meeting a real Yeti princess, they discover there is trouble in Troggie Town, and they set off to help. There are a lot of fun details about the characters, for example: Holly ate a bunch of magic reindeer corn when she was a baby and now she can jump really high; Santa has a magic wand that shrinks treasures and trophies so he can move move into a special room; and the Yeti princess, Frostina is covered with fur.

One of the things I really love about graphic novels, is that they offer another dimension to understanding characters. Not only can you read what they say, but you can also see their expressions and what they are doing. It adds so much to the readers comprehension.

As an added bonus, included in the book is a link to a web page where you print out a paper doll of Frostina and some of Holly’s clothing for her to try on.

This is a great Xmas story which both my 7 year old and myself enjoyed. It’s a sweet Christmas story, and I can’t wait to read about their next adventure. I would highly recommend this for anyone who can’t wait for Christmas!
