I enjoyed this. I knew going in it was a novella, but I still found myself wishing the story was longer. Even if only because the idea of a Vampire Fight Club was exciting! Lena and Nate are interesting characters with great tension and steamy chemistry. 3.5 stars

The Demonica Series by Larissa Ione is one of my favorite paranormal series. It is an expandable one, where various settings and plots can exist beyond the basic series. So this novella was a welcome surprise. Like all the other books, this is well plotted and thought out plus with the sizzling chemistry between the main characters present (like previous books). The Vampire Fight Club as the title implies is all about an underground fight club which is being headed, reluctantly, by Nate a daywalker vampire who for centuries has been trying to kill its owner but to no avail. Lena is a hyena shifter who has not shifted once and is now doomed to probably never shifting at all and spiraling into insanity. When she finds out how her brother died, she asks permission to infiltrate the club where he was last seen, as a medic. Little did she know that she would find more than she bargained for when she gets there. Or that her sexual chemistry with her brother's probable killer would be out of the chart. When Nate and Lena come together it results into something neither of them could predict.

Vampire Fight Club although short is quite well plotted and paced well. It is set in the Demonica World, therefore the sexual scenes between Lena and Nate is really hot, despite the latter behaving like a douchebag some of the time. It's classic Demonica series therefore if you are a fan it would definitely be perfect for you. If its the first time reading about the Demonica series, then its a way to getting a short intro about the world since most of the original casts makes an appearance.

I loved this book when it was in supernatural and loved it years later. I would definitely recommend this book to anyone who likes paranormal, romance or both.

Love this series. This novella is a great addition. Nate and Lena were a great couple and seeing the underworld hospital crew is always great. Even though it’s a short story it was sexy and was a great read. Not to be missed

Loved this supernatural romance story by Larissa Ione! Her Demonica series is one of my favorites. Vladlena is a shifter who is trying to find out how her brother died. She meets vampire, Nathan, the manager of a Vampire Fight Club, and her life gets a lot more complicated. Nathan has his own reasons for running the club but when he meets Vladlena he realizes that he has to take action now. Great story!

Vampire Fight Club was deliciously dark, and a steamy page turner.

A love story between two unlikely supernatural beings.
A shape-shifter and a vampire.
Let the games begin!

The story beings with Vladlena, who's brother died in an underground fight club. An illegal fight club.... known as THIRST. Things go from bad to worse when Lena has yet to shift, knowing that if she can't she will likely die.

Nathan and Lena cross paths, when she goes undercover to expose THIRST and to find out who killed her brother. But Nathan too has secrets and his own hidden agenda.

Another great addition to the Demonica series, a hot suspenseful thriller.

This is a great book with a wonderful story and well developed characters. The story flowed very well and was very enjoyable. This book will keep you reading long into the night and you will not want to put this book down until you finish. This was such a great read and full of surprises. I voluntarily reviewed an advanced reader’s copy of this book. The free book held no determination on my personal review.

I forgot how much I liked the Demonica series until I read this novella! A steamy introduction to Ione's world of vampires, demons, and shifters, Vampire Fight Club does not disappoint. As Vladlena is dealing with her issues shifting, a fact that could lead her to death, she finds out that her brother has been killed in what seems to be an underground fight club for non-humans and those of the underworld.

Nate has managed to run a successful vampire club for years, and with an illegal business in the basement run by a man he despises, he feels he's getting to the end of his tolerance. When a shy new shifter comes in as his new medic, Nate can't help the pull he feels towards Vladlena; the first real feeling he's had since his mate died decades ago. Vladlena needs to find out the truth about this club but Nate can't be the horrible vampire she believes.

With obstacles you'd never expected and a double twist ending this novella makes for another quick supernatural romance for any to enjoy!

Bloodthirsty vengeance isn’t all she or he thought it would be in VAMPIRE FIGHT CLUB, book 6.5 in the Demonica Series.

Lena was working at as a nurse in the UG when someone very close to her is rushed in just in time to die. Vladlena, aka Lena, makes it her mission to uncover and make his murderers pay. She never imagined getting caught you in the paranormal fight club world.

Nathan manages a supernatural nightclub, but he also oversees some seeder and even darker business endeavors including the underground fight club. Lena catches Nathan eye when she applies to become Thirst’s, the supernatural nightclub, in-house medical staff.

A heavy dose of the darker side, a splash of mystery and some smoldering hot chemistry make Vampire Fight Club a marvelous addition to anyone’s reading shelf. If you are a fan, you won’t want to miss this teasing taste of more of the Demonica – Vampire Fight Club series.

I received this ARC copy of Vampire Fight Club from Kensington Books - Lyrical Press. This is my honest and voluntary review. Vampire Fight Club is set for publication November 28, 2017.

I voluntarily read an advanced reviewers copy of this book

I have pretty much read this whole series and while I got this story for free, I have purchased many of the books in this series as paperbacks for me ...for my reading pleasure. This book did not fail to impress. I just wish it was longer...not because there was not enough content but because it was so good I wanted to read it forever!

I received an ARC via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.
This book is release TODAY - Go go go go get it~~ :D

So this book takes place riiiiight after ish hits the fan in book six ~ Book six is Lethal Rider and is technically the start of a new series (Lords of Deliverance) in the Demonica universe but I would really recommend you start with Pleasure Unbound to get the full effect, especially with this book.

This book is the story of one of a nurse, Vladlena aka Lena, and the daywalker vampire Nathan. Lena works at UG (a hospital run by demons) and Nathan works at a Nightclub that has a bit of blood sport occurring on the down low.

Now add in a female with supposedly not much to lose and a male that's lost almost too much. OH and attraction. ;0)

Folks~ that's just a good story.
Honestly, I would say this is one of my favorite stories in the series - it's fast paced being a shorter novel, but it's golden in presentation and execution on plot.
If you're not familiar with the Demonica Series as a whole - I would recommend you check it out, there's no bad there and this book fits right in. Except for a few character mentions I would even say you could read it out of order......(after the 3rd demonica book I would think).

Lena's character is interesting and Larissa Ione definitely shares more info on shapeshifters than I originally knew. Lena's *ahem* problem is unique. She's drawn to Nathan's flirty nature as she's not had much direct contact with that type of interaction. She's had a rough family life but nothing connected to what she feels for Nathan.
Nathan on the flip side is about as messed up emotionally as you can get. He reminds me a bit of Wraith from Book 3 but is a little self destructive in how he deals with life.

I was easily hooked by this book and read it all in one sitting. I would recommend it to anyone that enjoys the other books in the Demonica world and also anyone that likes vampire/paranormal romance. :D

Happy Reading!
Ash~

The Demonica series is one of my favorite PNR series!! I absolutely love it!! Whenever a new book comes out in this series, I always buy it without reading what the book is about. There’s never a need for me because I know that I’m going to enjoy the story. And Vampire Fight Club was fabulous!! So much action and danger! I loved all the characters. I just could not put it down.

Vampire Fight Club takes place in the Demonica world and works fine as a stand-alone. This story is good for anyone who enjoys paranormal romances. The series is one of my favorites and reading this short was like visiting old friends. All my opinions are my own and may not match that of others. I urge all readers to come to their own conclusions. I voluntarily received an ARC copy of this book through NetGalley.

For decades Nate has managed club Thirst and finds himself apathetic to the horrors going on around him. He took the job decades ago in hopes of gaining revenge against the club's owner. As time passed, Nate found the opportunity for him to act on those intentions never seemed right. During Vladlena's shift at Underworld General, the staff brings in her victimized brother. Because of this event, Vladlena goes undercover at the club her brother lost his life. With help from her friends at UG, she hopes to bring down the fight club they suspect is running there.

Nate and Vladlena meet and strong feelings manifest immediately between them. These feelings are both a hindrance and the thing that saves them. As their relationship develops, the chemistry between them sizzles. Their attraction feels genuine, and the actions they take reinforces their connection. I hoped for them to make things work.

In the Demonica world, not all demons are inherently evil. The characters are capable of as much good or bad as anyone is. It intrigues me when the bad guys are harder to find, and this demon trait lends to that. It helps creates tension wondering if everyone will do the right thing. I love this about the Demonica series.

One romance story trope I do not like is using a character's virginity as a plot point. Vladlena has a rare shifter ailment that is threatening her life. Because of her ailment, she is a virgin. Nate, of course, has to save her from a terrible fate that threatens her solely because of her virginity. I will admit the scenario plays out as good as it can. However, it felt to me like a situation created just to elongate the book. It was already a short story so what is the point? It is highly possible someone who does not have my aversion won't find it bothersome. The only other bad thing I could say is that the story felt a tad rushed. As previously stated it is a short story so ultimately I can forgive it. However, I could have spent more time with the characters in a full length novel and been okay.

Review featured at www.books-n-kisses.com

I picked this up because the moment I see Larissa Ione’s name I request the story. But this is one of those times that I had already read the story when it was part of the anthology. This story is about Lena. And her desire to find her brother’s killer.

This is a short story and is a quick read. The characters are interesting and the story is written with Ione’s exquisite form.

I received a complimentary copy of the book in exchange for an honest review.

I loved Larissa Ione’s Demonica series. I had to grab this novella so I could venture back into that world even if it was just for a small bit of time. As much as I enjoyed that series I still cannot believe that I have not moved on to the Lords of Deliverance books. I even own the first few.
Many readers will be pleased to know that if you are not familiar with the above mentioned worlds you can still read this novella and not be confused about what has gone on at Underworld General. Fans of those series will be pleased to know that the Seminus demons they’ve loved in the previous books have small roles here in Vampire Fight Club.
Working as a nurse at Underworld General has forced Vladena to see many injuries and deaths. One she never expected to see was her brother Vaughn. His injuries and subsequently his death are what push her to do a little investigating of her own. All it takes is a little snooping and she knows exactly where she needs to go to find out what happened to her brother, Thirst.
Nathan is in Thirst for his own revenge. Over the course of his long vampire life he has discovered keep your friends close and your enemies closer is the best way to exact that revenge. Sadly for Nate time has allowed his desire for that hate to fade. Now he just runs the club that the individual he hates the most in this world owns. Enter Lena. He knows she’s hiding something. He knows she has walked into his club as more than a medic looking for a job. He still over looks it all because she has awoken something in him that he has believed dies a long time ago.
One of my many problems with novellas is the insta-love and must mate and must mate now that makes the shortness and sex work. I didn’t experience that here. Yes this read is short, but it is still uber hot without the rush. On top of that both Lena and Nate get the justice/revenge that brought them both to where they met.

If only you had more time? Lena knows that her time is almost up she has no more time to do everything that she wants. She can stop running now as her brothers won't be able to find her soon but now that her brother Vaughan has been killed she has to find out why and by whom? And if that means walking into the lion's den so be it. Nathan just needs to find the right time to kill his boss that man deserves to die but how much long can he wait. He has lost everything he doesn't even feel anything anymore.
Can Lena keep this vampire far away from her secret or will he uncover it before she finds the killer? Nathan knows that she is lying he just doesn't know why and he just knows that he has to keep her safe. The longer Lena stays the harder it becomes for her to stay away from Nathan so where does that leave her? Nathan knows that he can't keep her but he can enjoy their time together little does he know that he will be fighting for them both.
Can they both live and get out of the arena alive or will they both lose the battle? Lena is about to find out about her true self knowing that she was always good enough.
A great read full of action, sex and so much tension. I received a copy via Netgalley & the publishing house in exchange for my honest review. You will not be disappointed in this book.

This book was ok.. Honestly it was just a short vampire story mixed with a fight club. There wasn't much else to it. The couple was fine.. Nothing sticks out in my mind about them. Everything was just meh.

What I’m Talking About:
Nathan (Nate) Sabine, a rare, daywalker vampire, has worked at an underground fight club for decades hoping to bring it down from the inside, ever since the owner, Fade, killed his wife. But Nate has become apathetic and has lost sight of his need for revenge. He hates himself.

Vladlena (Lena) Paskelkov is a nurse at UGH. She’s working when one of the paramedics brings in her brother all torn up. They discover he was killed at an underground fight club. Lena decides to go undercover as a medic for the fight club’s legitimate front, the Vampire nightclub Thirst, to seek revenge for her brother’s murder.

Although previously released, Vampire Fight Club is one of the few (only?) Demonic stories I hadn’t read. I absolutely enjoyed diving into the old school Demonica tales. The story is set mid-series, after the original crew have their stories, but before most of the Lords of Deliverance characters are mated. It’s fast, simple, and fun. Nate and Lena share an instant attraction, although it sort of horrifies Lena as she’s not certain if Nate had anything to do with her brother’s death. But their pull is undeniable, and it gives Nate a reason to live again. It also helps Lena fulfill her own shifter needs.

Vampire Fight Club is independent of the original series and can be enjoyed as a standalone or introduction to this awesome PNR series. As for fans of Underground General Hospital, this story is an entertaining, sexy addition to the Demonica series.

My Rating: B, Liked It

One of my favourite series and even though this story isn't very long a definite 4 and a half . This was apparently published in the anthology Supernatural so please check that you don't already have that.
I loved being back in the Demonica world with all its delicious paranormal creatures and of course the sexy demons who run the UG hospital. It was very interesting finding out about the unusual problem that Lena has but things get even more complicated when someone very close to her winds up dead. Of course she wants to find out just who killed him but Lena is about to step way out of her comfort zone.
Nathan might be a vampire but in many ways he is dead . Working for his enemy and yet with no drive left to take his revenge. What he wasn't expecting was to meet a nurse who is like a breath of air to him! Nathan has been just going through the motions until now and yet suddenly he starts to feel really alive again. Just what is Lena really up to though?
A quick, short read that still managed to pull me in. Yes this couple seem an unlikely pairing initially but there's no denying the chemistry that sizzles between them. Even better is the fact that Nathan wants to be a better man with Lena around and will do anything to protect her. I loved it and it's connection to a certain four infamous characters just added to the fun. Sexy yes but with an emotional pull . Plus those amazing Sem brothers feature so I'm a very happy reader
This voluntary take is of a copy I requested from Netgalley and my thoughts and comments are honest and I believe fair

Paranormal romance lovers rejoice! Gimee more!

Larissa Ione was probably one of the first paranormal romance authors I picked up. She always delivers these intricate plotlines that have plenty of action and the romance is always steamy and seamlessly woven into the story. Vampire Fight Club was previously published in the Supernatural anthology, but is being repackaged as a stand-alone novella.

When Vladlena’s brother dies of mysterious causes, Lena is on a mission to uncover what happened. It leads her to the vampire nightclub, Thirst, and its reticent owner, Nathan. As the secrets of the club and Nathan are revealed, Lena’s got much more on her hands than she thought possible.

I read this short story in one sitting, more like devoured it. Lena’s got a lot on her plate. From her brother’s death, to uncovering an underground fight club, to her growing attraction to someone who might have had a hand in her brother’s death.

Talk about complicated!

Nathan’s thrown for a loop by Lena though, too. His past has left him very closed off, and Lena’s got his blood pumping. The chemistry is crazy fierce. It’s intense and predatory and possessive. All the things that keep me one-clicking books in Larissa Ione’s decadently dark and dangerous world.

I’m a fan, and I’m dying for her next full-length title.

If you’re looking for a paranormal read I highly recommend this title. It can be read as a standalone, but I urge new readers to pick up her Demonica series, asap.

5 stars!
