Ok, I can believe there is a secret island out there where all your fantasies come true. Think Fantasy Island. But beyond that point, this whole book was unbelievable. Starting with how Stephanie gets the money to go on this vacation. Really? The characters were unlikable, the chemistry was unconvincing and nothing got solved at the end of the book. Unfortunately I won't be reading the rest of this series.

Hmm, how this book made me feel... I’m confused. Intrigued. Scandalized? Ok, maybe not scandalized. It would take more than this to be scandalized, but it’s not for the faint of heart. This was one big ball of mysterious possibilities and Mimi Jean Pamfiloff has me very curious to where she is headed with this series. You will need to check reality at the door because what part one is hinting at is pretty out there and yet, I’m hooked. I’m a fan of this authors writing so despite all the crazy things going on, I can’t wait to see what happens next. ARC provided by NetGalley.

If you don't like cliffhangers wait until you have all the series.I was enjoying this book it was well written and I was really getting into it and it just ended.I really liked Stephanie and Rook they were really great characters with loads of chemistry.I will be checking out the rest of the series

It wasn’t my favourite read by the author. That said it was good. Could have been stronger in story and the characters could have been deeper but it was a decent read.

I have no words on how amazing I think this book is..... this is hands down the best book i have read from Mimi and probably the best book i have read alllllllll year!!!! I feel like I can't even give a proper review, I have fallen hard for this story and characters.

Stephanie is consumed by the disappearance of her sister, Cici. Determined to find out what has happened to her beloved sister, Stephanie retraces Cici's last steps leading her to Mr Rook's Island. However, to get there she has to basically make a deal with the devil, to raise the money for an ALL-INCLUSIVE *waggles eyebrows* vacation at this mysterious resort guaranteed to make all of your fantasies come true.

 Yes, I am old enough to have a vague recollection of the TV series - Fantasy Island - but I bet it didn't have any fantasies quite like these!!!

The initial interactions with Stephanie on the island are a little cringe-worthy in her attempt to garner the attention of the elusive Mr Rook. Stephanie has been dealing with a lot of emotional baggage exasperated by the disappearance of her sister - resulting in anxiety and panic attacks at being touched. However, her interactions with Mr Rook ignite an attraction Stephanie has never felt before. Although Mr Rook is off-limits in more ways than one and not for any obvious reasons. the reasons to his aloofness and guarded nature are part of the added tension within the narrative and a much bigger mystery than you would expect.

There a a number of strange incidents alongside vague hints as to the nature of the island and Mr Rook himself, as well uncovering the whereabouts of her sister. The seeds are sown for the introduction of a supernatural element within the plot - it really is a tangled web of plot threads which Mimi controls masterfully.

Mr Rook ends with more questions than answers - I am desperate to know what happens next.

Another fabulous story by Ms. Pamfiloff! She can write amazing characters and stories that just suck you in and take you on an incredible journey. This book is no different. It ends on a cliffhanger. But so, so worth it! Just great story telling!

When Stephanie's sister doesn't return from a mysterious vacation, Stephanie will stop at nothing to find out what happened to her. After a break through in her investigation as to where she went and then having to secure the funds to go by any means necessary, Stephanie is on her way... to Rook's Island.

Once she gets there, nothing is as it seems. What she thought was a straight forward island that catered to sexual fantasies... is something else. And Mr. Rook himself... a man not to be trifled with...

This was a good book! Full of forbidden sexual desires, intricate fantasies and a deeper, scarier mystery as to what the island is really about...

Stephanie is smart and determined to find out what happened to her sister, but once she steps foot on the island, she is pulled into a crazy direction that makes her want to delve deeper into everything she is seeing that just doesn't make sense. Mr. Rook is the most mysterious thing of all... and Stephanie's attraction to him is confusing and inconvenient... to them both.

This book ends on a cliffhanger, but luckily for you book two is available now!

I really wanted to love this book but I just could not get into it or like the characters at all. DNF at 40%.

Hot damn MJP does it again, but what in heavens name has she lured us into here? Wow!
Between nail biting and the death grip on my kindle... and now waiting for Book two. but that's ok because I'm going to wait patiently because all is not what it appears on Mr Rook's island.
It's insanity at it's best and I loved it. I can't say much more because I don't want to spoil a single thing. You can read the blurb to get the gist of the story, but not one line should be missed in this one. Oh the twists and turns and illusions. Or are they?
This book is a must read and a true page turner. I loved the characters and the very sexy, mysterious Mr Rook!! Bring me book two!

Mr. Rook by Mimi Jean Pamfiloff is book one in the Mr. Rook’s Island series. This installment is steeped in mystery and had me anticipating book two.

Stephanie Fitzgerald wants to know what happened to her sister who disappeared on a trip to Mr. Rook’s Island. Stephanie has to do a lot to get there, but getting to the man who could help her might be a problem. Especially when the attraction between them ignites.

I can honestly say that I haven’t read another book quite like this one! There were twists that I wasn’t expecting—couldn’t have, in truth—and it kept me flipping through the pages. We’ve got the mysterious disappearance of Stephanie’s sister, the mysterious existence of this island, the mysterious figure of the elusive Rook…I had multiple moments where I had to stop and ask, what is going on?!

You can’t help but be sucked in.

I liked these two together, too. Stephanie's determined to get to the bottom of the island. Along the way, she gets much more than she bargained for, and oh, what a tangled web it is! Rook also has a magnetic quality that really piqued my interest.Who is he? Why the secrets?

Overall, this is an intriguing read, fairly steamy, with some dynamic characters. I’m looking forward to more from this author.

Well this delightful offering from this author kind of reminded me of a cross between the old Fantasy Island tv show and Lost ! Gorgeous, sinful and mysterious Mr Rook owns an island where if you can pay the price your wildest fantasy can come true . Sounds too good to be true doesn't it ? Well maybe that's because it is and there's something at work here that goes way beyond the norm and trust me there's never been a theme park quite like this.
Stephanie knows her sister visited Rooks island but she never came back. Now Stephanie is undercover trying to find out exactly what happened but she's got a pretty scary backer at home who like Stephanie wants answers. Ok then blend in and discover what happened but there's a slight problem when things don't quite go to plan and even worse Stephanie starts to find James Rook to be pretty irresistible. Yet the mystery deepens with strange dreams, apparent hallucinations oh and clients who are anything but ordinary!
This held my attention until the last page when I realised that as much as I think I've unraveled some secrets the author isn't quite ready to reveal everything. Yes there are sexy shenanigans to be had for a price here and I'm pretty sure this scenario could fuel many a woman's fantasies but it's the darker tones shrouded in mystery that really entertain. Rook you will both love and hate at times but Stephanie I think will appeal to most readers as she's tenacious and most definitely not about to go quietly! I really enjoyed this and look forward to discovering just what happens next.
