Have read Lisa’s books in the past and really enjoy them. This was no different. Great suspense quick and easy to read. Loved it

Loved this book, was a real page turner with twists and turns.
Written at a good pace to keep the reader engaged.

I've read several books by Lisa Gardner; she nearly always writes a good page-turner and this one is no exception, with four people dead and a teenage girl having disappeared - has she been kidnapped, or is she hiding? And is she victim or murderer? A compelling story, with many twists and turns - as well as some very sad moments.

I hadn't read any of the previous books and I hadn't even realized that it was a series until well into the book. I really enjoyed this! Suspense, great characters, and fast-moving plot. All made for a page-turner and I will probably be moving on to the other books in the series, as I've read that some of the characters in this installment were actually ones that were prevalent in previous books.

I have not read any books by Lisa Gardner before but will definitely do so in the future - it looks like I have 8 to catch up on! This was a page turning 'who dunnit' with lots of twists and lots of questions that needed answering. Two story lines ran at the same time and the focus was on the 'victims' in both. Roxy's family have been gunned down and she is now missing. There are further victims of the 'shooter' and a race to find Roxy as well as determine whether she is another victim or the perpetrator. The story line flowed well and did not finish too quickly as so many mystery books do. I really enjoyed this - thanks to net galley and the publisher's for allowing me to read and review this book.

In “Look For Me” by Lisa Gardner, D. D. Warren is Back. And this time she has help, not just from her department, but from Flora Dane, the woman who survived the unthinkable - being held captive for over 400 days (see Flora’s story in Gardner’s last book, “Find Her” - which sadly I missed). This works well as a stand alone book if you want to jump right in, but equally it had me wishing I'd read earlier books in the detective series. Nevertheless it was a fantastic read and is a well-written, cleverly plotted mystery that will keep you reading all night. How Gardner kept on top of the characters, twists and major events that happened is beyond me but this book demonstrates what strong talent she has.

when you start reading a lisa gardner book you know you are in for a well written, well thought out storyline with believable characters, it like that first sip of coffee in the morning...when you open the book, that awww factor...

this is a story that wrenches at your guts and you just cant put the book down until you find out who the killer is...and the reasons why an entire family were wiped out and could the killer be still after roxie or could the killer be roxie....

and the reasons behind the foster family and court case comes to light and can the police and their new c.i put it all together before its too late...

so many red herrings but i didnt quite make up my mind who i thought it was till near the very end as it was playing out...

lisa gardner is fast becoming my favourite author

This story kept me guessing till the end which is what makes a great story for me. I didn’t realise it was 9th I’m a series until I started but it really was ok as a stand alone. I will look out fir this author and maybe stay from book one.

I couldn’t get into this at all so didn't finish it.
I've just uprated this to a 5 star after going back to this one. It took me a while to get into it but so pleased I gave it a second chance. Excellent

I finished this novel crying. crying for all the damaged survivors of trauma, abuse, kidnapping or anything else that mean that they had survived a horror that  no-one should have to go through.

And I also admired them.

I admired them for surviving in whatever damaged way it might be - and for those who take that damage and turn it into a force for good.

A novel that tears your heartstrings when you realise what it was like to live with an alcoholic mother and then to move into a dysfunctional and abusive foster home. and you worry about a system that permits this to happen. a system that is chronically over-crowded, understaffed and under-resourced and thus exploited from within.

Not a light read but a powerful read. a novel that combines suspense with a social conscience and is all the better for that.

Look For Me by Lisa Gardner. I have read and enjoyed books by this author previously but this is the first book in this series that I have read. I was hooked from the first page and I am looking forward to reading the previous books in this series. This is a demanding read,dealing with issues which will be emotionally demanding to many readers. The story is complicated as well as troubled. The use of lay investigators,themselves former victims,alongside the police complicates the plot and sometimes makes it difficult to decide who is telling the story. It adds little to the plot which would have been just as good using only the police characters. The lead figures are well drawn if damaged. It is a good read.

This is the first book which I've read by this author. It is part of a series centring round DD, a US detective. In this one, she has to deal with a quadruple homicide where almost an entire family is killed. Of the five family members, only one survives, Roxy, and she is nowhere to be found. Is she too in danger or is she in fact the perpetrator. As others known to Roxy are targeted it begins to seem as if she is actually a murderer. But Flora, a vigilante women who survived over 400 days in the captivity of a violent rapist, isn't convinced and works her way into DD's confidence. Roxy has been in touch with Flora's survivors' group and Flora is convinced that Roxy is innocent.

This novel is written from three points of view: DD's (in the third person), Flora's (in the first person) and Roxy's (through the medium of essays she has written on the topic of the perfect family. As DD and Flora are effectively carrying out the same investigation separately, we have to endure a lot of repetition. So, Flora finds out something and then in the next chapter DD discovers the same thing. This makes their narratives a little tedious. Only Roxy's essays on the subject of her (less than) perfect family engage. In them Roxy tells the story of how she and her siblings were taken into care because Juanita, her mother, was incapable of looking after them due to being an alcoholic. What happens to Roxy and her sister Lola when they are in care is highly relevant to the murders.

I'm afraid I didn't like this novel. Characters didn't come to life for me, especially DD who being at the centre of things ought to have stood out. Flora is clearly extremely damaged by her experiences at the hands of her captor and is not an attractive character in any way. Roxanne is more clearly formed and I did have empathy for her. However her story alone is not enough to redeem this novel. I am sure there are many others who will like this book but it wasn't for me. I haven't read any of the previous books in this series, but that didn't matter. The characters were well drawn and there were enough references to previous history to enable me to join the dots.

The book starts dramatically and ends dramatically - with lots of tension and atmosphere in between.

Enjoyed reading this and will seek out the previous titles in the series.

Flora is a survivor of rape and kidnap and she is helping others to survive their abuse. Roxy is a young gutl who appears to be on the run accused of murdering her family in a brutal home shooting. Can Flora work with detective DD Warren to solve the crime?

I have read some of the DD Warren books but had not read book 8 about Flora but that did not detract from this book at all. I felt it was a slow read to start and then I was sucked in and flying through it. Really enjoyed it

This might be book 9 in the DD Warren series but not having read all the others, and those I have read, in the ‘wrong’ order, I can’t say that I felt I missed out. There is of course back story which may have made some things more obvious later on, but it didn’t spoil my read!

The issues in this book go far beyond your usual themes in thrillers and this for me made it gain a new emotional if not painful layer to the whole read. Lisa Gardener knows how to stab the reader in the heart and then pull the knife out that’s for sure! Some parts are very sad and grim but then again sadly not unrealistic!

A whole family is murdered and the young survivor is questioned. And that’s not the messy part! That’s just the beginning.

Boston is the backdrop rather than the star of the show but it’s a city with grit and attitude if DD Warren is your guide!

Another outing for Detective. D Warren. I hadn't read many of the previous books in the series but that didn't seem to matter as this is very much a stand-alone novel, although vigilante Flora Dane, is also in FIND HER where she first meets Warren.. A family is brutally slain leaving only a teenage daughter and her two dogs alive. A teenage girl is on the run - is she the killer or is she the victim? Can they find her before more bad things happen? Lots of violence, gangs and horror stories of brutality. Not my cup of tea, especially as there's not much of Warren in this book. I liked her as a character and would prefer the storyline from her point of view rather than a three-way split.

When Sergeant DD Warren receives a RED BULL alert on her phone she knows it's something bad. When she gets to the house she learns its a house of five people, four of them are dead, but the fifth, sixteen year old Roxanna is missing. The race is on to find her. Has she been taken? Running scared? or is she responsible for the killings?
I loved the way the book takes you back in time to the beginning, of the things the family went through, the ups and downs to that fateful day they were wiped out.
I kept changing my mind as to who was behind it all, only to find at the end that not only was I completely wrong but it was someone I hadn't even given a thought to.

“Look For Me” is book 9 in the DD Warren series from Lisa Gardner (can be read as a standalone easily too) and has the added benefit of also featuring once more young victim turned vigilante Flora Dane who we met in “Find Her”

I love this series – Ms Gardner always writes those proper page turners that are immediately absorbing and horrifically addictive. I’m a fan of DD Warren anyway and also now of Flora Dane and in this, their first full collaboration if you like, both of them spark – making the mystery elements even more intriguing as we see different motivations at play.

The main focus of this instalment is an emotional one – an entire family bar one gunned down in their home – the missing girl could be victim or perpetrator, DD is determined to discover which. The story then takes on several themes, including the vagaries of the foster care system, sisterly relationships and parental responsibility – it is cleverly insightful with psychological thriller elements and a nicely played out mystery to solve.

Overall another excellent addition to this series, making me VERY keen to read the next.

Although this is the 9th book in the series; this is the first one I have read. It was not spoilt by my not having read the others - but I will be reading more now! Great characters and plot made this a terrific page turner which I struggled to put down. Highly recommended.
