I was excited to return to Alphaville as the prequel novella was a great introduction to the series. In this novel we once again meet a heroine who flees to Alphaville for sanctuary as the town has a reputation and history for taking in persecuted and lone shifters in need. Here we meet Renny and Mick. I thoroughly enjoyed this PNR novel as I felt they both had sizzling chemistry and great banter. I could not get enough!

When Renny Landry finds herself the victim of an insane stalker and his goons she flees to Alphaville. But when she is wounded in a failed attack and rescued by Mick Fischer, she never would have expected her life to turn upside down. What happens when she meets her match under dangerous circumstances? Will they be able to survive the stalking shifter and Mick's past returning to haunt him?

I enjoyed this story and Mick and Renny's connection but felt it was pretty similar to the prequel in some ways (insta-connection, initial rejection of the mating bond by the male, etc.). But it did keep my attention and hooked to the last page! All in all I am interested to see what follow up stories the author has planned in this series as Jaeger seems like he would be a fantastic hero! I would like to thank Netgalley and SMP romance for an advanced copy of this book for an honest review. Bravo! 4 stars! ~Ratula

Baby, I'm Howling for You is a good start to a new series by Christine Warren. I liked both the hero and heroine in this one but their romance didn't grab my attention as much as I would have liked. I was more curious about some of the secondary characters.

All in all, Baby, I'm Howling for You is a good read.

REVIEW
I only discovered this series when I was asked if I'd be interested in being part of the Blog Tour by Justine at St Martins Press. ./After reading Something To Howl About, I knew I wanted to read much more of this series! I was hoping to meet more of the Alphaville residents, maybe even learn more about the characters of Jonas, his family and the newcomer, Dr Annie Cryer that I had already met in Something To Howl About.

The cover has a woman walking along a road, surrounded with forest that is covered in snow. After reading the blurb I automatically guess this lonely female figure is Renny. At the top section of the cover is a wolf shifter with piercing blue eyes, maybe Mick? The shifter on the cover would attract my attention to at least pick up the book to read the blurb, so I'd say it does its job well.

The genres I have seen listed for this book are Paranormal, Fantasy and Shapeshifter which all fit well. The label of shapeshifter fits as there are not only werewolves in this book, there are bears, lions, lionesses, cougars and coyotes. I love a good shapeshifter book though admittedly I usually stick to werewolves so the other shapeshifters were a new element for my that I found I did enjoy.

The book begins with Renny on the run from a group of coyotes, she is heading to the once place that may offer her help and refuge, Alphaville. Alphaville is a place that is populated by various different shifters. So Renny doesn't feel so guilty if the coyotes follow her there, as it is a place where there are no fragile humans. Renny has been on the run for quite a while now. She just seems to settle and then Geoffrey locates her again and sends his coyote bullies to find her again and the she has to pack p and leave as she doesn't want to endanger humans. Renny's car runs out of fuel so she quickly abandons her car and clothes and shifts to her small red werewolf form and runs as fast as she can knowing she is well out numbered should the coyotes get her cornered somewhere. Renny does end up fighting and being injured but she doesn't give up as she knows what fate awaits her if the coyotes catch her and take her back to their Alpha Geoffrey. Geoffrey made it clear to Renny that he wants her and though she tried to let him down gently at first, then ended up being more forthright and flatly saying no! Geoffrey gets what he wants and he is obsessed with getting her irregardless of her feelings, or rather lack of loving feelings towards him! Renny is fully aware she is running for her life! She desperately needs to get inside somewhere or find people as this will discourage the coyotes from attacking her. Blindly running, with the coyotes hot on her heels she ends up almost on the doorstep of Alpha werewolf shifter Mick.

Mick has lived at Alphaville, or rather the outskirts of Alphaville for sometime now alone. he doesn't interact with a lot of people preferring to keep himself to himself. Mick lost his mate Beth and has been alone ever since. When he see's Renny in her red wolf form she reminds him of Beth so much he automatically protects her from the coyotes and telephones for help to come and sort out her wounds. Its not long until Mick realises his inner wolf has decided that Renny is theirs!! and though Mick can be stubborn, his wolf is determined and it's not long until Mick joins his wolf in wanting to claim Renny.

Now Renny isn't alone and has made a few friends she relaxes a little hoping her being around other shifters will put off Geoffrey and his coyote crew. Sadly for her it doesn't, in fact the coyotes seem to think its acceptable to attack Renny in broad day light in the middle of Alphaville. Naturally Mick takes it upon himself to protect Renny and enlists the help of Aplhaville's Police and Mayor and a few other shifters willing to fight and get rid of the coyotes, including Geoffrey once and for all.

I don't want to reveal any more of the plot as it needs to be revealed as you read the book for yourself. I enjoyed the writing style and pace of the book. It has plenty of great characters with the promise of more in future books too.

I really liked most of the characters in the book. I loved the way both Renny and Mick could feel their mate bond but were both very wary of discussing it with each other. I enjoyed how though they both felt and instant bond, they developed their relationship a little slower and didn't always see eye to eye. Renny may be a small werewolf and Mick a large werewolf Alpha that is much bigger than her but she still stands, digs her heels in and readily argues for her own way and her own independence.

I also really liked the brother/sister banter between Zeke and Molly. A quirky character in the book is Marjory Caples, the current librarian who is desperate to retire and very eager to train her replacement. I love the way she speaks to Mick as though he is a naughty boy and she is his school teacher. It's really funny to read how the tough, grumpy Alpha, turns meek, mild, well mannered host when Marjory visits him to speak with Renny.

I also think the character of Geoffrey is also really well written and I thoroughly enjoyed hating him and his coyote henchmen too.

My immediate thoughts upon finishing this book were that I loved the main characters of Mick & Renny as well as some of the others such as, Zeke & Molly. There's plenty of action right up to the end of the book. I didn't want to put it down! I am seriously looking forward to reading more of this series.

I really loved this book, as well as the prequel novella Something To Howl About too. The pace of the book was perfect, I really did not want to put this book down once I began reading it. If you love shifters, then I think you'll really enjoy this book. It does have a couple of explicit steamy scenes but they are well within the context of the plot of the book. I definitely want to read more of this series as well as check out Christine Warren's The Other Series as well as some of her other series too

Baby, I'm Howling for You by Christine Warren is Book 1 of the Alphaville Series.

BAMMMMM! Ms. Warren has done it again! A wonderful new paranormal romance series that revolves around Alphaville, a small US town that is a safe haven for the world’s shifter misfits. This book gives readers everything we could ask for in a story...solid world, supernatural goodness mixed with romance and heat, intrigue, and a storyline that will have you captivated with it’s endearing characters, and it’s smooth and steady pace.

An ARC was generously provided in exchange for an honest review of which this is both honest and completely voluntary.

I picked this book to read not because of the title but because I loved the cover photo. I think the book could have a better title like Alpha or something in that line. Luckily a title does not make a book bad!!! I loved this book and really could not read fast enough, this was my first book by Christine Warren and I loved the characters and writing style. I can't wait to read more books by this author.
I would recommend this book if you are a fantasy lover and love reading about shapeshifters. I especially loved this book because I recently visited a wolf sanctuary with my family and got to touch and feed a wolf.

What is this paranormal romance goodness? This new series from Ms. Warren captures my attention and I want to read it all. A sucker for the underdog, Renny Landry is one I'm rooting for in the book. She is a hybrid shifter who is being chased by a psychotic wolf shifter who can't take no for an answer. When she targets for the mythical shifter sanctuary, she is close when her stalker's goons take her down. Luckily for her, she makes it the very edge of the sanctuary and a reluctant shifter helps her out.

Mick Fischer is a curmudgeonly isolationist who is still suffering from the burdens of his past. When Renny falls into his lap, his past catches up with him. This is good because he can right a wrong he did not consider when he left his old life.

What captures my attention about this series is the town, Alpha. The misfit of shifters living in this hidden town are all unique and interesting. They each have a story to tell and I can't wait to learn about each of their stories. Mick is first up and his is a doozy. He has suffered loss. It is understandable his desire to go away and stay hidden. It is also a bit selfish in some senses because as an alpha wolf, he has certain responsibilities that he threw away without a thought.

This story ebbs and flows with building a new life for Renny, addressing the old one which is tangled up with Mick's past. The different ties makes it more complicated and difficult for a straight decision. It isn't simple because different actions have outcomes where someone will lose out. Ms. Warren does a nice job of resolving with a happy in between.

As a romantic story, it is a bit light for me. Or perhaps, I am less interested in the romantic chemistry between Renny and Mick. Their budding romance is nice. I am more vested in their partnership and how they were going to solve their coinciding issues together. As a couple, they are powerful and well matched. This paranormal romance is recommended to shifter lovers who enjoy crusty antisocial shifters with a soul of a poet.

Renny Landry has done everything she could to let her stalker know she is not interested but when he continues to relent she makes a run for it to Alphaville. She doesn't get away without being wounded and wakes up to find strangers hovering.

The last thing Mick Fischer needs is his persistent wolf wanting his mate Renny, however with Renny in trouble he steps up to protect her. Renny's stalker though brings up memories that continue to haunt Mick, how can he move on with Renny when his past is determined to be present in his life?

Highly entertaining. Had a few twists and I liked how it was not instant couple just because they were mates. Mick was an intriguing character who I would like more of. Great read, unusual plot for a shifter story.

I enjoyed this book Renny was a feisty smart heroine who didn't just let others take care of her problems. She's being stalked by a coyote shifter that believes she belongs to him. Mick is a sad lonely alpha who lost his mate years before and truly believed he was just existing til Renny literally fell into his lap. The story keeps you interested and invested I wanted to know if Renny and Mick get their happily ever after. The story lagged at a few spots and I feel the ending is a bit rushed and could have been done a bit better but I did enjoy the story and thought it was pretty good. If you like werewolf shifter books with a bit of their own twist then you'll enjoy this :)

Red wolf shifter Renny Landry is running for her life. There is a pack of coyotes hunting her. She has been trying to escape her crazy stalker and his bully boys for ages.
She has heard of a shifter friendly town that might be a safe haven.
Alpha wolf Mick has been on his own since the death of his mate years ago. The alarm system blares and a panicked howl can be heard in his woods. Little does he know just how much that sound will change his life.
An all action shifter romance, with a full story line. Lots of very nasty fights and scary moments. Also some hot sexy scenes. We meet lots of really interesting characters who I'm sure we will get to hear more of in the future. This is part of a series but easily read alone. Saying that I will be reading the next one VERY soon.

Renny Landry is a wolf shifter on the run from a stalker who has chased her out of her job and a few towns since. She is trying to get to Alphaville which is supposed to be a haven for lone shifters and other shifters with problems.

After running out of gas, she shifts and heads into the woods just moments ahead of the gang of coyote shifters who want to catch her and bring her back to their evil coyote shifter boss. She winds up in the yard of Mick Fischer, another wolf shifter. He takes one look at her and his inner wolf declares her his mate.

The human part of Mick doesn't want to have anything to do with her. He has already had a mate and lost her. There is no way that he ever wants to feel that sort of pain again. However, Renny is in trouble and needs him and his inner wolf if putting a lot of pressure on him to claim her in every possible way.

Mick soon gives way to his inner wolf but Renny isn't at all sure that they have anything other than their mating bond. She wants emotional closeness and fears that Mick's past won't allow him to give it. It really doesn't help that her stalker is his former brother-in-law which brings up the tragic past he is trying to put behind him.

I loved the relationship. I loved the way the story was told from both Renny and Mick's points of view. I loved the colorful writing and touches of humor. The romance was intense and believable. The story is filled with excitement as Renny, Mick and the town rally around to track down her stalkers and take care of the problem.

Great urban fantasy/paranormal romance.

Alphaville is the 'safe haven' legend of this series. Shifters all over the US have heard the rumors of a completely shifter town that is safe to all shifters, no packs or alpha-problems to navigate. They tend to attract those that need a haven or want to be on their own. Wolf shifter, Renny is one of those that need a haven. Being stalked by a crazy coyote shifter and his crazy packmates because she refused the alphas advances is bad enough, but they've followed her across state-lines into Alphaville itself. Now, they're attacking in brood daylight and their smart enough to flee and bury their scent trail when needed.

In her attempts to save herself, Renny runs onto Mick Fischer's property. Mick has been hiding in Alphaville for years after his mate was killed. Now, Renny has invaded his privacy and it turns out she's his second chance at a mate. But does he even want a second chance? When he finds out the coyote stalker is his first mates crazy half-brother, it enrages him even more than finding a second mate does. An excellent story about a really interested shifter town. Quick, easy and entertaining read!

As far as romance sub-genres go, I will pretty much read them all and really enjoy a good shifter romance now and again which is why I was pretty excited to start Baby, I'm Howling for You (also what a fun title). I found elements I enjoyed but overall I did not love the book.

Things I enjoyed:

-the idea of a shifter town of misfits and the resulting small town feel
-the notion that the story doesn't end immediately after the mating, which is often the end goal for some novels
-the modern elements that ground the story in our reality, despite it being fantasy (for example the male MC is a graphic novelist)
-the steam level

Things I did not enjoy:

-I felt the action was a bit weak and it was difficult to watch the MC's fall prey to the villains traps multiple times
-If I was new to shifter romances I would feel lost, not much explanation of the shifter world was included
-some of the town interactions felt forced to me, but that might have been due to the fact that I did not start at the first book in the series

One thing that I felt deeply disappointed in is that at some point the author makes a disparaging comment about 70's bodice rippers that rubbed me the wrong way? We romance readers take a lot of crap from non romance readers and saying something like 'it's not like she was a heroine for a 70's bodice ripper' puts the whole genre down (yes, even if aged and problematic). That kind of put a sour note in it for me at the end there. It WAS a pleasant read but I would not read any more from this particular series.

I was given this book by Netgalley for an Honest review.

Baby, I'm Howling For You (Alphaville) is a funny, sexy, and action packed book. The storyline and characters are well-developed. Renny is running away from  a stalker wolf. Her car breaks down on the outskirts of Alphaville with the shapeshifters who were sent by her stalker to retrieve her. She runs onto Mick's land trying to get away from them. Mick runs off the wolves chasing her and take her to his cabin.  His wolf recognizes that she is his mate, but how can that be? His mate had died. He must protect her at all cost. Renny is afraid for Mick, because the one who is stalking her will kill Mick and anyone who stands in his way! I loved this book and series! I never get disappointed with a Christine Warren book. I recommend this book and series to everyone. I give Baby, I'm Howling For You (Alphaville) 5/5 stars.

So glad the Others are back .. Loved every moment of this book.. Well written as always. the tension between Renny (a red wolf on the run) and Mick (a wolf with a broken heart and a dark past) well handled and the build up to the climax wow couldn't put the book down. can't wait for the rest of the series

I was gifted this book to read on netgalley, I really enjoy Christine Warren's books. The Others being one of my favorite series. While I enjoyed this book it was not my favorite. It seemed to drag on for me. I can't seem to pin point why this is. Renny Landry is the heroine, she was strong, sensitive and not a pushover. Mick Fischer the hero, was Alpha, sweet, sad (he lost his first mate) and strong. The cast of characters are entertaining and brought a lot to the book. I do find I enjoy the second book of every series more then the first, so this may be a me thing not the story thing. I'm looking forward to reading more of this series. 3.5 stars

This book is about renny and mick, how they meet each other. Can Mick keep Renny safe, and can he convince her that he want her to be his mate before it’s to late. Christine Warren has done it again, a well written story, and it’s has has you keep guessing what is going to happen next.

This is the first full length novel in the new Alphaville series. It follows the novella Something to Howl About, although it definitely can be read as a stand alone and you don't need to read the novella to understand anything. However, I really liked the novella and recommend you read it just because it is part of the series and frankly it's a good read. With all that being said, this book is about Renny Landry and Mick Fischer. Renny is on the run from a crazy shifter stalker who keeps sending his coyote pack after her no matter where she goes. She is trying to make it to Alpha when they catch up to her in the woods and try to capture her again. She ends up being saved by Mick just as she runs into the clearing where his cabin is located. Mick has been living in Alpha for years just trying to survive his past. Little does he know, his past is about to slap him in the face. And he has no idea how to deal with Renny when he hasn't gotten over his past.

I truly liked this book. Renny is sweet, funny, and even though she is scared about what is happening she still tries to make a life and make herself be happy. Mick is, to put it bluntly, damaged. He had been through so much and hadn't dealt with anything that happened except to get his revenge. He has never truly moved on and made a life for himself or attempted to be happy. And now that he has a second chance? He tries to fight it not believing that it can happen for him, or even should happen for him. The only thing about this book I didn't like was that Mick seemed to just magically put aside his feelings about the past without ever truly dealing with them. It was like one minute he was fighting any sort of new relationship for all he was worth and then BAM, he was totally on board! Now that isn't to say that this book wasn't good. I still really liked it, it's just that one thing about it that brought it down from a 5 star book to a 4 star book in my opinion. Once he was on board with everything with Renny, I loved everything about him and how he was with her. This was truly a good book. And the side characters in it are awesome! I really hope we get books for Molly, Zeke, and John!!
