Entertaining read! The characters' histories added credibility to their connection and there was a little further drama to keep the plot kicking on.

I fell in love with tough but vulnerable Nexie from page one & Nash Knight was just the right mix of cocky & sweet.

Can I just say I absolutely love Nash !! Who wouldn’t want a gorgeous - hot Billionaire to come to their rescue? He is kind - helpful - sincere - a force to be reconnoned with in the business world & is NOT no way looking for love having had his heart seriously broken has no need for it in his life ...

Nixie is a completely loveable character - she is on the run from an abusive boyfriend - her trust has been broken as well as her heart. She ventures into NY and wanders into not the best area where she is almost attacked ... Nash comes to her rescue ...

With no place to really go Nash offers Nixie a place to stay & slowly this down to earth beauty finds herself wondering why this amazing guy is so shutdown when it comes to love ...

Does Nash only want Nixie to help him seal his next business deal or has she somehow found her way into his heart for good ...

You can definitely tell the author has had a successful business career / high finance background - I love corporate setting romances ...

This book gives you everything - great chemistry - sexy / funny humor & an amazing 😄 HEA - yes Nash has to grovel a bit cause he screws up big time !!

Deal Breaker is the second installment of the Billionaire Bosses series, and I ended up liking it as much as the first story - Penthouse Player. This time it's Nash Knight, the Black Knight of Wall Street, who meets the woman to bring him to his knees. He finds her in Nixie Rowland, a woman he rescues from two thugs in an alleyway one night. Nash doesn't know what to think of the beautiful, vulnerable woman he rescues and brings back to his penthouse, a place he doesn't ever bring women to. He knows he's intrigued by her, and he wants her, but the fact that she gets under his skin is an unusual thing for him, something he isn't sure how to handle. Even days after she leaves his home and he doesn't see her again, she's still in his mind, still in his thoughts, and he wants her. But, how to get Nixie to respond to his not very subtle flirtations? She's not very responsive and it's driving him nuts.

I'll admit I wanted a bit more between Nash and Nixie. A bit more heat for sure, but mostly a bit more of their relationship and their backstories. Their relationship, while kind of sexy, was lacking some depth and development. I wanted to feel more emotions between them, I wanted to see their relationship develop a bit more. But, I do like them both and was glad to see them finally get their HEA.

I also don't feel as if the way things were resolved between Nash and his sister-in-law was right. She needed to go, not stick around in Nash's life, with the potential to wreak havoc and jealously watch as Nash and Nixie were so happy. And the way Nixie's ex was dealt with? No, just no. He needed something more than to just be shipped off to rehab again. I wanted Nash to arrange something more permanent for him so that he'd never bother Nixie again.

Still, for the most part, I enjoyed Deal Breaker. Nash and Nixie are both pretty great characters, so I could legitimately give them 4 stars.

I enjoyed this one a whole lot more than the first book, though I did enjoy seeing Tristan and Reina reappear to see how their happily-ever-after is going.

I went into this book thinking that the two main characters, Nash and Nixie, were going to be like all those other romance novels where the main characters discuss a marriage of convenience for whatever reason, and then over the course of the story, they slowly end up falling love and the marriage becomes more "real."

I'm glad that this isn't that book. The marriage doesn't even come up until about three-quarters of the way into the book, and it was a third-party suggestion. I won't say more on that due to spoilers, but I will say that, should Tara Leigh write a third book in this series, I feel like I know who will get their story told next...

My only qualm, though, was Nixie and her inability to stand up for herself. Throughout the book, she's telling us that she doesn't need anyone to save her, that she can take care of herself, but her actions said otherwise. Even when her inner dialogue says that her "damsel in distress" days are going to end, it's anticlimactic, because she never actually does anything to stand up for herself.

I did love how Nash went from being an arrogantly cocky bastard on Wall Street, to someone who's no longer afraid to find love again, and I actually did love Nash and Nixie together, I just hated her characterization, but still enjoyed the story, which is why I gave it four stars.

This may be technically a sequel, it reads as a standalone, although you will get a brief spoiler alert for how the first story turns out, so read at your own risk, I guess.

Deal Breaker by Tara Leigh is an intriguing mix of characters and plot . Nash and Nixie are the main characters in this book and they sizzle when they are on the same page. I tried to figure out what it was that made them click but never could see what made them click so I just went with the flow.
This is book 2 in the Billionaire Bosses series. Nixie is trying to stay clear of a control and abusive ex boyfriend while trying to work to get ahead in life. What seemed like just a bad day turned into almost being assaulted but she is saved by the Dark Knight of Wall Street-- Nash Knight. He brings her to his home and has a doctor look her over. Then he has her stay the night…and there is this chemistry between them. It flares at the oddest moments. Nash, a man who never did a kind thing in his life, found himself saving the damsel in distress Nixie. They are unknowingly had losses due to 09/11—Nash lost his brother while Nixie lost her parents.
Nash finds out that Nixie is in danger so he does what he needs to in order to protect Nixie. But that might not be enough to save them both. Nixie is headstrong while Nash is very possessive. Nash likes to control while Nixie likes to push boundaries . There is a lot of action , a lot of passion and some danger in this story which was great…what needed work was why Nash wanted to marry Nixie. That bothered me a bit. It seemed too controlling and I felt so bad for Nixie. She needed love so badly. I didn’t like how Nash controlled her at times. It was almost mechanical, not emotional. But the ending was good so overall, was a good read.

Okay...I loved Nash. I mean what's not too love, right? HOT, sexy guy who just happens to have more money than he knows what to do with. A guy who got screwed over by the girl he thought he loved and who is now dealing with guilt from his brother's death.

I HATED Nixie. She started off strong but then became incredibly immature. I would have thought she was 18-19 NOT going on 25. She initially wants to refuse help from Nash, but then becomes so dependent on him it's as if she can't stand on her own two feet.

And Nixie's "Pappi"....really? He knew what was going on and did nothing?

A book about a girl down on her luck and a millionaire that is actually only one book. I really enjoyed it :)

Loved this story of Nixie and Nash! These two are connected by circumstances they don't even know yet! Read along with their stories and how these two come together and get through their issues, while not the easiest thing with miscommunication thrown in there! I enjoyed their story so much, this was my first read from this author and she took a story, that is personal to her and made it amazing to read! 5 stars for this one! Thank you for creating this wonderful story!

Deal Breaker was my first book by Tara Leigh, and I have to say, I loved the characters. Nixie is a strong woman. Having lost her parents on September 11th, she lives with family friends. When she falls in love with the man she always thought of as her older brother, life seems picture perfect until he turns controlling and domineering and she overhears that he is using her simply to gain her inheritance to pay off his gambling debts. She gives up everything to escape and start fresh. She only needs to make it a year until the money is all hers and he has no way to touch it through marriage. Now that she’s free, there is no way she wants pulled into a relationship with another Alpha male . . yet Nash Knight seems to be her kryptonite.

Nash, self made millionaire is a player. He does one night stands. Betrayed by his brother, who was later killed in action, he has no room for anyone in his life except for his twin niece and nephew . . . whose mother just happens to be his ex. When he sees thugs after Nixie, he springs into action and is immediately drawn to her . . . but he’s not willing to commit to anything . . . .is he? He can’t get her out of his head and for the first time in years he’s drawn to a woman for more than a night of sex.

These characters clash in a beautiful way as they fight both their demons as well as their attraction to one another. It’s inevitable they get together, but it’s one heck of a ride to get them to that point. When a marriage of convenience is proposed to save Nixie’s inheritance and Nash’s business deal will they be able to go through with it or will they discover that perhaps fate has something more in store if they can only push through their bitterness and baggage.

The plot has plenty of action as well as cuteness overload as the big bad alpha male turns into mush as his niece and nephew wrap him around their little fingers. It’s a fun read with a great mix of drama and romance. 4 stars.

Not having read the first book in the Billionaire Bosses series, I didn’t know what to expect when reading Deal Breaker. At first glance the cover the synopsis completely hooked me in, and after reading the book I can say that I cannot wait to read more from the author in the future.

At the very beginning we get to see Nash Knight and Nixie Rowland’s first encounter. After being chased by two suspicious looking guys, Nixie is ready to defend herself when Nash comes rushing to her rescue. Not being used to being rescued, Nixie wakes up in Nash’s house after suffering minor injuries. It is when she is ready to go back home that Nash’s protective instinct kicks in and wants to protect her. He doesn’t know that she has been running away from her past, but neither that she know the demos that he works so hard to hide. When Nash is ready to close a deal, he bumps into an obstacle when he is questioned about being single and not settling down. In the world of business everyone still sees him as someone who is not committed and he wants to change that. When he makes a daring proposition to Nixie; a marriage in name only. She doesn’t know what else to say or do, but a marriage will help her save enough money to start a fresh life. Little did she know that her marriage in name only would turn out to be so much more as soon as the two started to get to know each other better. Now it’ll be up to them figure out if taking a change on a relationship is worth the risk or not.

I very much enjoyed the overall story, it’s evident that both of the characters are still working on their pasts and that has made it difficultly to move forward. Nixie has been trying to escape from an abusive ex-boyfriend and now that she has a good life it has suddenly come back to haunt her. On the other hand, Nash has been through a lot emotionally. He lost his brother and he is able to connect with Nixie as she has lost her parents as well. He is a total alpha male and wants to protect her no matter what which can be sweet and a bit overprotective at times. I liked how their relationship progressed over time and the ending was a sweet. I do wish we could have gotten more on their pasts and the pace felt a bit rushed, but it all still worked in the end. I would highly recommend it if you’re looking for a quick romantic read. :)

Another great book from Tara. I loved book both Nixi and Nash are complicated stubborn personality. Although none of the want complication, relationship or feeling something deep toward another that is exactly what happens. Something stronger is pushing them together and the attraction that is really powerful but not only lust there is something deeper but they are still pushing it down and ignoring it. I loved that the story is not predictable and full of surprises. A story with suspense but also, more complicated story about finding what really matters in life. Deal Breaker is the second book in the Billionaire Bosses series. It definitely can be read as a stand alone. Characters from the first book make an appearance, but they aren't integral to the story. This is Nash and Nixie's story. Nash saves Nixie from being mugged in a dark alley one night. Neither life is ever the same after.

I liked the story well enough. The HEA was sweet and there was definitely chemistry between the couple. I liked Nash and his hard exterior with a soft caring gooey inside. It was fun watching him fall for Nixie. I wasn't too sold on Nixie throughout most of the story. I thought she made some incredibly dumb choices. While I get that she had a bad experience with a controlling ex, her reluctance to let Nash really help her was frustrating. Once her ex finds her, she had a surprising lack of a sense of danger. I found this odd. Did she not think he would keep stalking her? Finally, I found it frustrating that she would be so upset when she figured out Nash's reasons for their marriage of convenience. I'm mean, did it really matter? She had her own selfish reasons.

Despite this gripes, the story is still a pleasant romance. I look forward to seeing what comes next.

The premise of this story was interesting and once I got to know the characters of this story, I really understood where they were coming from. The heroine, Nixie, is struggling with the aftereffects of 9/11. She lost her parents and her best friend betrayed her. The hero, Nash Knight, is a corporate shark who made a fortune on Wall Street thanks to daring investments. He is ruthless and shrewd, but when it comes to Nixie, he seems to have a white knight complex, saving her from bad situations. Nash is a walking contradiction, he has a reputation of heartless tycoon and yet he is a philanthropist, a champion of at-risk youths.

Nixie is guarded and can’t handle drama or unnecessary complications. Nash’s intensity, drive and ambition are not what she needs in her life. She feels that they are incompatible and don’t belong together. And yet, they both want more in their relationship.

This book was an emotional, enjoyable read. I loved Tara Leigh’s debut, Penthouse Player, and I really, really wanted to love this one also, but I had a few issues. I didn’t “buy” Nash and Nixie insta-attraction, I needed more substance, more feelings and more connection. The story lost a bit of momentum at times, with a forced wedding trope that felt contrived. Because of that, I struggled to stay connected to it.

Overall, this book is a good read with some flaws and the author certainly knows her way around a beautiful romance. I’ll definitely follow her in the future.

Deal Breaker is one of those books that the reader decides they want to read slowly. I received a copy via Barclay Publishers and Netgalley.com. Nash is hardworking, driven, single man who has spent the last few years moving from woman to woman and never looking back to any of them. He has been burned badly before and has absolutely no interest in love or a relationship. He is only interested in work, his family and boxing. Nixie also has no desire to be in a relationship. She has just gotten out of a long relationship where she was dedicated to and loved a man who it turns out might not have been very dedicated to her. She has a long history with her ex, Derrick and his father, but, she has decided to make a clean break and start a new life.

Nixie and Nash are thrown together when Nash witnesses two men attacking Nixie when she cuts through an alley. Nixie is thankful but wants to move on and Nash wants a bit more time with her but, he cannot quite understand why, especially since Nixie has made it clear that she has no interest in him. Both of these characters were well-developed and despite Nash's ability to be a bit of jerk and being known as a vulture capitalist in the business world, the reader warms to Nash and given the pain both of them share after the loss of a family member the reader starts following along hoping that things work out between them. One of the good things about the story is the reader gets to follow along and watch as Nash and Nixie keep drifting towards each other and obstacles constantly preventing them from getting together. The plot itself has been done a hundred times before, but the characters were charming and fun. Nixie had some sass and character, and Nash was an unlikely knight in shining armor.

This wasn't a bad book, but I didn't find it that great either. I had a problem with redundancy. The same backstory and "feelings" were said over and over (and over). By a third of the book, I just lost interest. Others may find this to be their cup of tea. Unfortunately, it just didn't work for me. On the bright side - editing was very good.

Nash trained at a boxing gym most nights in his old neighborhood. Most days Nash spent two miles from his old neighborhood but it was a world away as Nash plotted corporate takeovers on Wall street. Nash is known for stripping his targets of their assets , selling them for more individually than they were worth as a whole. In his spare time he does the same to those he is up against in the ring. Nash used a combination of street fighting and mixed martial arts. As he was getting in his chauffeur= Jay- driven SUv he saw a young woman go into an alley by the boxing gym and two thugs followed her there. But she caught Nash’s attention as she looked like she was running from something. Nash wondered why the thugs were chasing her and then decided he had to see exactly what was going on. The thugs had claimed the young woman as theirs but Jamie didn’t see it that way and told the thugs to let her go. Nash didn’t want to know her but felt he had to extract her from the thugs. One of the thugs pulled a knife on Nash but Nash disarmed him and broke his arm. The other thug decided to leave but then Nash realized the other thug must have had a knife as the woman came up with blood on her hand. Nash caught her before the woman fell to the ground. Nash decide to take the woman to his condo Jamie paid Dr. Campball a lot of money to be at hos beck and call. So the Dr. came to Nash’s place and put stitches in the woman’s waist from the knife wound which thankfully wasn't to bad. Nash was attracted to the young woman. On the tv was a remembrance ceremony from 9-11. Nash didn’t need a reminder of 9-11 Sixteen years ago Nash had been sixteen and ready to join a street gang. After the attack Nash’s eighteen year old brother Wyatt on September twelve went to an Air Force recruiter and joined the Air Force. Before Wyatt left for boot camp he made Nash promise he would stay off the streets. Nash was both proud of Wyatt but angry that Wyatt had left him behind. Between cutting school and starting fights Nash was on his way to breaking his promise. But Reggie who was a boxing gym owner seen Nash and a kid fighting outside his gym and took them inside to fight. Then Nash had an outlet for the unwieldy emotions clouding his judgement. Reggie had Nash sweep floors, clean the bathrooms, and washing wraps so he could train. Ftist Nash traioned with amateurs and then pros. But a rule Reggie had was he had to do well in school to train in his gym.. Then with a little effort from Nash he got straight A’s. Nash’s efforts got him a college scholarship, internships, job offers, Eventually Nash got his own company then his first million he kept going. Nash still trained at Reggie’s gym. No woman had ever spent the night in Nash’s condo but this woman would. She needed to heal.Nixie- the young woman- woke up to a bandage on her right side Nash told her the wound wasn’t too bad and se had a couple of stitches. Nixie wanted to leave but Nash told her the doctor would be back to check on her the next day. Nixie had ran away from an abusive ex boyfriend- Derrick.. He Nash flirts with Nixie who mostly ignores him. Nixe had lost both of her parents on 9-11 and at twenty five- a little under a year- Nixie had an inheritance coming. Derricks family had taken Nixie in after her parents died and finished raising her. Derrick was determined to marry Nixie and get her money. Derrick had a gambling problem and was going to use the money Nixie got to pay hos gambling debt off and he was determined no one was going to stop him no matter what he had to do. . Nixie might be in danger and Nash was determined to protect her. There was a very hot chemistry between Nash and Nixie. Nixie wasn’t interested in another relationship after Derrick. Nash’s true love had been his work and his niece and nephew. His brother had eventually died when serving his country. While Nash wouldn't take no from Nixie- unlike Derrick who refused to take no from her- with Nash it was because he cared and sees Nixie for who she really is. The only woman Nash had ever loved ended up with his brother and was the mother of his niece and nephew. But Nash did think the answer to their problems was to get married in name only.
I really enjoyed this book. I liked the plot and pace of the book for the most part but sometimes it did drag for me. I would have liked a little more background on Nixie and Nash. I loved how Nash’s friends excepted Nixie into their group. I also lied how the author showed Nixie and Nash’s pain relating to 9-11. I also really loved Nash and Nixie together. Also how the author showed both POVs. I did feel this was realistic. I did feel the ending was a little rushed. I didn’t like Eva at all. I loved the character for the most part and the ins and outs of this book and I recommend.
