Enchanted by the Highlander is a good fit for readers looking for a historical romance with a focus on forbidden love and the unpredictability of fate.

I love a good fairy tale retelling and this was one of them. While I was initially a little annoyed by Gillian’s docilness I thought she was a very likeable main character in the end and I loved how her relationship with John blossomed.

I’m usually not super into Highlander based romances, but I took a chance with this one and I’m glad I did. Really enjoyed this one.

I really enjoyed reading about English John and Gillian. I love how she blossomed more and more throughout the story, and it was fantastic to read both of them standing for what they believed was right.

A delightful retelling of Cinderella --with a highlander twist! And the cover--it is gorgeous. I enjoyed the characters and the twists she created. I thought it was fun and after a long day, this hit the spot for a way to relax.

I am not quite sure what fairy tale this was supposed to be but I did enjoy this story. Gillian is shy and lets her family speak for her and is working to have her own adventure. John is an English outcast in exile in Scotland just trying to be accepted. I did enjoy these two coming together and hope there maybe more in the series.

Enchanted by this book! Each tale in the MacLeod sisters series is better than the last one. I have loved each book in the series, this one especially. The characters are wonderful, each misunderstood by those around them. There are adventures, danger, twists and turns and a few villains to boot. Gillian is considered the quiet, shy one of Donal MacLeod's daughter. As each person around her answers for her, or thinks they know what she wants, little are they aware in Gillian there beats a heart seeking adventures and love. John Erly is an Englishman living in Scotland. Although he is Alasdair Og's captain, he tends to stand apart from the others. Dair just happens to be married to Gillian's sister. On a layover at Dair's home, Gillian and John spy each other and are fast attracted to each other. Here is where is all becomes unraveled. Gillian knows what she wants, and against all her family's warnings and a marriage arranged by her father, she wants John. While traveling to her Edinburgh wedding, her group is attacked. Here Gillian finds her voice and strength. I don't like spoilers in reviews so I won't say any more, just that this is a very worthwhile read. There are more unmarried MacLeod sisters so I hope that means more books.

This is definitely an enchanting tale weaved by Lecia Cornwall. I'm not the type of person who likes weak and/or shy heroines, but this one has a bit of promise. And who doesn't love reading about a mischievous handsome highlander?! I do! This book doesn't leave any room for dislike. I recommend!

This is a story between a young shy girl named Gillian, one of the several daughters of the Laird of the Macleods and John Erly, an English man disowned by his father and had to make a new life in Scotland and becomes the captain of the guard of Gillian's brother in law. The story kicks off when Gilly decides to steal a kiss from John during a masquerade ball. But because nothing comes out of it, Gilly goes back home and a couple of months later is forced by her family to marry a man who happens to be older than her father.. John just happens to be assigned to escort her to Edinburgh and recognizes her as the woman who stole the kiss and has never forgotten.. What follows after that I cannot tell you because you need to read it for yourself but one thing for sure, it's definitely full of action, intrigue and suspense. Definitely worth the read.

This was an enchanting regency highlander novel that kept me engaged from beginning to end. I love the sweet romance of the Regency. My only dislike was the pace of this novel. It went to slow for my liking.

I enjoyed the chemistry between the two main characters in this story and the fact that they did all they could to fight what they were feeling for each other. The fact that Gillian didn’t say much was a nice change from some heroines in historical romances who talk about lots of shallow things. I loved the Highlander setting and any fans of Outlander would love this, although there is no time travel in this book it has a feel of the romance of Outlander. The writing is so good, I often felt I had been watching TV rather than reading a book. I will read more from this author.

Delightful combination of fairy tales and Scottish romance- two of my favorite genres. I would definitely seek out more books by this author in the future!

I was absolutely enthralled by this book. I loved that this was a twist on a fairy tale. She is a quietly strong female who has learned to be quiet and observe rather than act. It is always the quiet ones you have to watch. Her hero is a misunderstood and tortured man who just wants the one woman he can't forget. Only she gets dropped in his lap and he doesn't know it is her. I loved all the twists and turns and can't wait to read more of the stories.

I read this book some time back and do not remember how I felt during reading it. I must have really enjoyed it because I gave it 5 stars on goodreads.

This is a very lovely story. I couldn't get enough. I need it more chapters. I loved the storyline and the chemistry between characters.

I really enjoyed this story. I was surprised to learn there are others in this series, so I'll be trying to look those up today, too. As of right now, my reading queue is ridiculously long, but one more won't hurt.

I enjoyed the storytelling and the fairytale aspect to the story. It's a feel good romantic read. Gillian is a woman I can identify with in a lot of ways and I think maybe that's what makes the story so appealing. I think a lot of women could probably picture themselves in her shoes, if only for a moment. But, it isn't just Gillian. All of the characters are likable and believable. Bravo, Lecia Cornwall. 

The plot of the story is so fantastic and that's how the fairytale vibe kicks in. It's very Cinderella-like, but I found myself holding my breath for Gillian and John throughout the story. I knew there would be a happy ending, but at times I found myself worrying how it would come about. I wasn't disappointed and I can't wait to find the other books in the series!

Enchanted by the Highlander is a historical romance with solid characters and some well done conflict. I connected with Gillian, with the way others assume she has nothing to say just because she rarely speaks up. As someone who normally holds her tongue unless I have something important to say, I found myself feeling much like her on many occasions in my life. I like that she is strong and more than capable, but is also caring and follows her heart. It is a nice balance. John is a strong character as well, but I felt a little less of a connection with him. His back story is well done, as is his honor and desire to do the right thing even if it is hard or not what he really wants at the moment. The touches of fairy tale troupes was cool, and I wonder if all of the stories I saw in the novel were intended or just the way the story evolved. I found the action and adventure of the story to be well done, the danger felt real and played out with a couple unexpected twists. However, I found myself frustrated with the last few, not because they were badly done, but because I was ready for the happy ever after and it felt like it was never coming.

Enchanted by the Highlander is a good historical romance with plenty of action, adventure, and angst. I liked the fairy tale touches, but found that it just went on a little too long. Each twist was good, and well done, but I think some could have been saved for another adventure.
