Angels. Emma Cramer doesn’t consider herself an angel by any stretch of the imagination. Temporarily stranded, broke and unable to pursue her dreams of working in the big city following her mother’s death, Emma’s life changes when she rescues a small child and a puppy who get trapped in a garage where Emma’s truck has finally breathed its last . The girl’s relieved and grateful grandmother believes Emma has been sent by angels because her family needs temporary help. She offers Emma a job, a good salary and a place to stay until after the holidays. It seems like a Christmas miracle for both of them. Angels often appear when least expected, but when the most needed. Cynical sheriff and rancher Cole Drayton has heard that all his life, but he’s never been in the market for much else. He can take care of his daughter, his ranch and his family on his own without his meddling mother, but his long protected heart and desire for isolation is no match for a beautiful stranded stranger and a misfit puppy who make his daughter laugh and him feel alive again. Can unsuspecting hearts intersect at the moment when love and trust is needed most? Anything is possible with the magic of the Christmas season and faith in the Christmas angels.
This was a cute holiday story that was perfect for the season. As I was reading it I felt like I was watching a Hallmark holiday movie (which I enjoy). Both characters were likable and the book flowed very well. It was a quick read that I enjoyed.

Book four in Debra Holt’s Texas Lawman series, The Sheriff’s Christmas Angels is a sweet story of second chances for Sheriff Cole Drayton and his five year old daughter Charlie, while for Emma Cramer this story is about finding the family she never dreamed she’d have. It is loosely connected to the other three books in the series but also works well as a stand alone novel.
Both Emma and Cole have faced life’s hard knocks and taken more of a beating than most, but they are strong people and each has risen from difficult times to make something of their lives. Brought together by a chance meeting between Emma and Cole’s mother Mae, it doesn’t take them long to discover how perfect they are for each other, though of course life throws them a few curve balls along the way.
The story has a strong sense of family and community throughout, and of course with a little girl and an abandoned puppy thrown into the mix there is plenty to like. Add in the build up to Christmas in a house that hasn’t seen a proper one in years, and throw in the whimsy of angels of all sorts watching over Emma, Cole and Charlie as they become a real family and you have the makings of a very sweet Christmas story.

From a heart wrenching and poignant start to the adorably funny meet cute, this story captured my mind from the very first pages, kept me entertained till the very satisfying ending.
I loved how the author had mixed the drama and humor in this smoothly flowing tale that was so well crafted it was a pleasure to read. Even in the direst moments of grief, pain, and disappointments the light of hope is shining through keeping the story upbeat and inspiring.
Because there is a lot in Emma Cramer life that could have brought the angst as the major emotion in her life. She has never had it easy, but that has made tough, resilient, and flexible person with a generous and kind heart, who is willing to help others, easily makes friends and is a delightful and likable person to be around with.
Cole Drayton has his reasons to be distant and cynical. The hurt and wounds from the past finally start to heal in the warm light from Emma's eyes. Over the months, as they work together and get to know each other, the attraction sparks fire, the feelings grow, and they find a way to communicate and bond with each other, building a unique relationship, where the chemistry is a tangible force in between them.
I loved the tight community bond, the family that pulls together and spent time with each other, supporting each other.
A delightful mix of humor, drama, romance, and Christmas, with a sweet kid, a puppy, meddling yet loving grandparents, trouble from the past, a lady in need of a new chance on life, and a sheriff in need of Christmas miracle to make him smile again... Get ready for all the feels and Christmassy emotions

A story that covers the gambit of true HEA, romance, strife, a child's wonder and love, and a Lawman in need of the perfect woman to melt the barriers protecting his broken heart.

Between Cole and Emma there is a chemistry rooted in need and desire for acceptance. You can't help ending the story with warmth on your heart and a smile on your face.

Having read each story in the series for me this one is hands down my favorite. If the series continues, it'll be difficult to surpass the genuine happiness that Cole and Emma leave you with.

I loved Ms Holt’s dedication page for my own grandparents instilled a similar way of looking at life. People come into our lives for a reason and sometimes a season, because we need them or they need us – enjoy them, learn from them and perhaps give them what they need from you. And maybe, if we’re lucky they’ll stay for a lifetime. And after that wonderful thought my Gram would pause then hit with this zinger: And some do you a favor by letting the door hit them or the backside as they leave. I believe Cole has had a taste of all of those thoughts, and it’s left a bitter taste behind. Now it’s up to a stranger, a puppy and maybe some Christmas magic to turn his life around.

Emma hasn’t had an easy life, but she’s survived. By working her hands to the bone, studying until her brain was about to burst she’s finally finished college with a degree that can open doors and possibilities for her future. Now all she has to do is get to those interviews – and her nearly broken down much used truck certainly isn’t cooperating one little bit. At a stop for gas and direction to the nearest mechanic in this wide open county, Emma will meet her own angels in the form of a grandmother trying to get to her granddaughter… who has squirmed into a closed space to rescue a puppy. Soon Emma will find herself face to face with Mae, Charlie and a newly christened puppy, Angel. And somehow the puppy has become hers. She’s still not sure exactly how that unlikely event really happened. But it made sense at the time. Where Mae is concerned Emma is going to have that feeling of being caught in a soft, comforting whirlwind often. It’s how she found herself on this ranch, working on the paperwork and watching after Charlie – and sharing Angel. To say that the man of the house, Charlie’s dad, was not impressed or happy would be an understatement.

Cole is tired of his mother’s matchmaking efforts. Tired and angry. Yet he cannot really deny that she’s done exactly what he asked… found someone who can take the paperwork he’s overloaded with and put it into the right computer files. He doesn’t trust his adorable, strong-willed mother further than he could toss her so he’s on his guard against a woman who is sparking interest he doesn’t want to feel.

Cole is a hard man, and a first class jerk… at least at first. His life hasn’t been what he expected. One vicious, she witch of an ex-wife has proven to him that life is not good and trusting anyone beyond blood family is a mistake. He’s refusing to see the wisdom of his mother – if that she witch hadn’t come into his life for a season, then he wouldn’t have his adorable, much loved daughter. But he is stubborn and it will take one special woman to show him the error of his ways.

Of course life never runs smoothly. So when a vicious woman sets out to make trouble, Emma runs. Only this time Cole isn’t going to let his good woman get away. He’s not a lawman skilled in tracking for nothing.

I enjoyed The Sheriff’s Christmas Angels on so many levels. Emma and Cole both have wounds and issues, but together they make an amazing couple. One little girl and her puppy will steal your hearts. Oh, come on, we know Angel is really Charlie’s and always will be. Emma and Cole have some hard time to work through but the ending solid relationship will be well worth the anger and tears to get there.

If you’re looking for a solid story that offers some Christmas magic, likable characters and a feeling of watching a miracle unfold… then this is a story you’ll want to pickup to enjoy any time of the year, but especially at Christmas time.

I have enjoyed all the previous books set in McKenna Springs so I was looking forward to the next book with Emma and Cole. Cole was hard to like at first because he was so cold and rude but he did seem to thaw out to Emma as the book progresses.

Poor Emma just keeps having problems but in the end, the car repair problem strands her in the chance meeting with Cole's mother and daughter, and the rest is pure romance!

I really liked the reference to angels appearing when least expected - that was a great comparison for Emma and her influence on Cole and his life!

Believe! That is the message of "The Sheriff's Christmas Angels," a feel good novel by Debra Holt that spreads the spirit of the Season of Giving.

Having been alone since her mother's death, Emma Cramer has always dreamt of a loving family. Sheriff and rancher Cole Drayton has always had a loving family. But, he is also a single dad raising a daughter. Busy wearing three hats, he does not have time for love, that is until a beautiful stranger walked into his life courtesy of his mother.

The arrangement was clear cut. For six months, Emma was to be the lived-in baby sitter and home office help. Easy peasy, right? Well… that only lasted for a few days as Cole's daughter and her puppy wormed their way into Emma's heart.

Meanwhile, the ice surrounding Cole's heart was also melting. And everyday, it was a struggle for him not to fall in love with Emma.

With their personal baggage already a hindrance for them to have a meaningful relationship, life throws them a curved ball which can send both of them running away from love.

"The Sheriff's Christmas Angels" is Rated T for Teens due to adult situations. There are no sex scenes in this book.

Acting Sheriff Cole Drayton swore off women after his wife left him and their 6 month old daughter for his brother. He also overworked himself so as not to dwell on it, with the help of his parents he made a life with daughter Charlie.
His mother tries to fix him up many times, baldly stating Charlie needed a mom.
Enter Emma Cramer..a Christmas Angel for Mae and Charlie Drayton. Mae could not get Charlie to come out of a dangerous garage that she followed a stray pup into. After getting both out, Emma agreed to keep the pup in order not to upset Charlie and went on her way. But her truck broke down, leaving her stranded in town long enough to reconnect with Mae and for Mae to offer her a job.
Having had a hard life, Emma is more than up to the challenges she faced overcoming Cole's objections and the three formed a family type unit until Cole's ex shows up.
Will they get past the damage she causes, or will the loving Christmas plans be ruined?
Grab it and find out how this sweet tale evolves.

This is a really cute festive romance! Very little has gone well or right in Emma Cramer’s life but, after rescuing a young girl and puppy, she ends up working taking care of the child - and his father, Sheriff and rancher Cole Drayton. Cole definitely doesn’t really want her there but his mother offered Emma the job and makes him agree. This is the start of a magical Christmas read, with great characters and Emma’s delightful nature is enough to melt even the Sheriff’s frozen heart. The small town setting has more than its share of brilliant secondary characters and they are great at endeavouring to protect those they’ve adopted as their own.

This is a heart warming story with easy to relate to characters, plenty of twists and a dose of turmoil, too. The growth of the romance is believable and so sweet! This is a poignant, endearing story and a great festive read to escape into!

The Sheriff's Christmas Angels by Debra Holt is the fourth book in The Long Arms of the Lawman Series. This book like all the others in the series can read as stand-alone with no problem. Ms. Holt’s style of writing is descriptive yet concise, distinct and engaging with believable good but imperfect characters.

In this Christmas story there is a prickly, single, workaholic father, Cole, along with his cute young daughter. Then there is the strong, self-sufficient but down on her luck Emma. Rounding out the story is a wayward puppy, Cole’s mother who caring to the point of being meddlesome, and a town full of people cut from the same fabric as Mae Drayton. Sounds just like everyday people living everyday lives with all the heartache, worries and concerns, also with all the joy life can bring. An inspiring story for everyone.

Wasn’t sure I’d like to read another romance about a single dad... but I did! Caught mr attention from the first chapter and read right through to the end. One of the sweetest moments, besides the adorable daughter and the puppy, is the hope and belief that angels watch over us. Look forward to reading more books by this author. It’s seldom I give out 5 stars but this book more than deserved it!

I enjoyed this story very much. It has a lot of heart and love and mixed emotions that all come together at Christmas. Little girls, puppies and people who need each other. What a recipe for the holidays

I adored this book! A Hallmark movie right on the pages of this one. Tons of emotion and great characters made this one very enjoyable. I didn't care for Cole at all in the beginning but Emma's sweet nature and huge heart worked it's magic on him and I ended up a big fan of the gruff sheriff. Definitely a book that will grab your heart. I highly recommend it to everyone.

Emma has been taking on the world since she was a little girl through the good and the bad. She’s done with college and is ready to be the person she dream she could always be, someone to make her mom proud of. When things take a turn she starts to wonder where all her plans might go. Cole trust no women well other then his daughter and mom, but well they don't count. He just wishes his mom would back off and let him raise his daughter he doesn't need anyone in his life. But it seems that might be changing and he needs to find a way to protect his heart and his family. Can he come out of this situation unscathed?
I have read all four books in this series and hands down I think this one is my favorite. I really loved Mae, Darcy and Charlie. I loved the big role Charlie played in the book and how her personality was strong even though she was small. I loved how the book just jumps out at you and you can truly picture yourself there in the small Texas town. I really enjoyed how the author kept it clean for all but one small part which really was so tasteful and played an important part in the book. I really enjoyed Emma and how she was super independent but still vulnerable. Really you could not go wrong with this book super fun read and gets you ready for the holidays.

Colt Drayton is abrasive, cynical and always on guard, so getting to know him was really difficult in the early stages of the story. Then suddenly the reader is catapulted into the world of heartbreak and devastation that makes this solitary man much easily to understand.

Emma has had heartache too, but even with her soft heart she pushes forward and tries to build a life. But what begins as a chance meeting and hope for the future, soon turns into misconceptions and more broken promises that send Emma running from what could have been a life long dream.

Debra Holt has once again wowed readers with the men and women of her Texas Lawmen series; believable characters, real-life events and an all round endearing tale made this a wonderful story read.
