Very enjoyable read. Even though Gemma is direct and always correcting people, she's highly intelligent and observant, which is rare in a main character. She's a bit like Columbo in making her deductions and figuring out who the bad guy is. It's fun to be a,part of that.

I really enjoyed this book even if it took me sometime to get involved in the plot. It was my first book by Vicky Delany and in this series. The more I read the more I liked both the plot and the characters even if sometimes Gemma, the book heroine, is not so likeable :)
Being a Sherlock Holmes fan I appreciated both the references both Gemma's deductive method.
The book is really well written.
Many thanks to Netgalley and Crooked Lane Books for giving me the chance to read this book.

An interesting murder mystery. Gemma, an Englishwoman living in Massachusetts, owns a Sherlock Holmes inspired bookstore in the small and quaint village. When the town decides to host the play of the Hound of the Baskervilles, with the reknowned Sir Nigel to play the famous detective. When he arrives, he is drunk, rude and likes to steal things. Luckily for the play, he is murdered before the play can begin. When Gemma, and her friend Grant, find the body the hunt is on. First book I've read in the series, but enjoyable none the less. The sexy Ryan, the cop on the case, is an old flame that still shows a spark. His partner Louisa hates Gemma, but not as a rival, just for being too pushy in solving the case. When Leslie, the mother of Gemma's friend is the main subject as a possible murderer, Gemma has to step in to help. Good story, and one I highly recommend. Looking forward to reading more in this series.

This is another great installment in the Sherlock Holmes Bookshop Mystery series. I enjoy getting to know the characters better with each book, but new readers could also jump into the series with this book.

A big thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for the chance to read this book!

*Sheepish* I am going to admit something. I haven't ever read any Sherlock Holmes. Nor have I seen any movies, plays, television shows or anything like that. At one point Gemma states that the whole world knows the Baskerville story, but I don't. Did that effect a themed cozy for me? Not even a little!

Such is this book with its fun characters, great plot and fast paced writing that a lack of knowledge was no impediment. The book trots along comfortably, and we're revealed just enough hints that we keep up with the murder mystery with ease. Gemma herself is an excellent character, but she's supported by a brilliant cast of reoccurring characters that all add to the mystery. Add to that two fine animal companions and you're close to cozy perfection.

I loved it of course, but I'll wait to post the review until closer to the release. This is a fun mystery series that I'd like to see more of. Five stars!

This is a well written murder mystery with just enough clues presented along the way to keep you guess as to who committed the murder. The book kept my interest all the way until the end.

This is the third book in the series and I have not read the other two, but I intend to read them now.

The only precaution that I would mention to readers not familiar to this series of books, is that the cat is not really central to the story, so if you are looking for one of the many mystery books where a cat helps solve the crime, this is not that sort of book.
