3.5 out of 5 stars!! Close to Belle’s (Annabelle) eighteenth birthday, her life forever changes when she learns that everything she knew about herself is a lie. Raised within a werewolf pack, she is taken to the Werewolf King’s castle in hopes to protect her from an unknown source. However, that is just the beginning of the “crazy” that is about to enter her life. Will she be able to “roll with the punches” and make the best of the situations that are thrown her way or will she be “gobbled up and spit out” instead?

This novel was an epic adventure-ride from the start that follows both Belle and the Werewolf King (Keith) as they try to make sense about what is happening to Belle and save their world in the process. Though it is not quite what I was expecting, the writing was enjoyable, the characters were charming, and the plotline was riveting enough that I did not want to put the novel down. This tale was fun and exciting. Plus, it helped that Belle was a strong lead who I felt I could sympathize with as I followed her through her “new world” and saw her grow into herself.

Yet, I have to admit that it took me until about 60% of this novel to begin to root for Belle and Keith together. Only because of how much of a jackass Keith was in the beginning of the book. But thankfully once Keith redeems himself the reader can see the authenticity in his feelings for Belle. Therefore, I can say by the end of this novel I was cheering for their HEA. Especially when it seemed their world didn’t care about them getting together one way or another … it truly was them against everyone else, even against those who meant the most to them.

I DO recommend this novel to EVERYONE who is looking for a paranormal fantasy romance!!

Normally shapeshifter/werewolf novels aren't my first choice when it comes to paranormal/urban fantasy books, but the blurb draw me in. I had a really good time reading this, after all. Thanks for the copy!

As war looms between the two species, the Demon Lord is determined to find Annabelle – little does she know, the truth behind his sinister actions is about to unravel. When Annabelle discovers that she is not the true daughter of the Alpha in her pack, her world, as she knows it, comes crashing down and she finds herself running to hide from the tyrannical Demon Lord who is hell-bent on finding her.
I really wanted to like this book, but unfortunately, I didn’t. The part that was Annabelle’s journey I liked I didn’t like the part with her and Keith and their “relationship” at all.

This book took me a little bit to get into this book. But after I get into it I really enjoyed it, it was a fun and easy read that had just the right amount of plot twists in it to keep it interesting.

The paranormal/shifter aspect of this book was interesting and something that I enjoyed.

This book was not for me. I would recommend this book to anyone who loves werewolves and dark, sexy romances. I think because I have read a lot of books with similar themes I just didn’t feel that I needed to read another one. This book was unique as it included the ‘Demon Lord’.

This story had a lot of things going for it! There were things I loved. The premise was intriguing, and the world was unique. It had a wide variety of supernatural beings, and a big world to play in. It was the lack of details and execution that brought the rating down for me.

I wasn’t a fan of our lead characters. Annabelle had a very whiny, immature, and everyone wants me vibe going and it was just too much for me to get over. I would’ve liked to see more growth and maturation during the story arc. It would’ve changed the way I felt. Keith felt over the top and one note. He was often angry, and nearly paranoid with the way he frequently jumped to conclusions.

Two immature characters felt like too much. Still, the plot itself kept me turning the pages. There were fantastic plot twists as well. With a little tightening, taming, and development this could be one killer read.

I enjoyed the book but thought that the heroine's hero was uncertain, it felt like it could have been anyone of the male characters. Perhaps it was intended to come across like that but I couldn't get into it because there wasn't any build up between the hero and heroine.

This book had a lot of ups and downs, but read as some sort of epic paranormal romance with a fated mates twist. It was clearly setting up some side stories because we met *a lot* of characters along the way. I admit to having some trouble getting behind the main characters for the first half of the book, but by the end, I knew I had to find out what happened.

Belle is the daughter of werewolves who suddenly finds out that the demon lord is out to claim her. Oh, and she's adopted. The surprises just keep coming for her as she's abruptly kidnapped by the werewolf king (who is a jerk). Honestly, their relationship leaves a lot to be desired, but I usually find that with fated mates. Keith (the werewolf jerk) is pretty convinced that Belle is somehow bespelling him so they go on a journey to visit the witches. From there, things take some pretty disastrous turns (and dark turns, too - beware, torture ahead).

While Belle goes through her own drama, Keith eventually comes to grips with his being fated mate to Belle. There's prophecies, bad guys, political drama, girl drama, secret family members, people you think are dead who are not dead, and so much betrayal that I started to expect it at every turn. This was no short read - it took us on a full tour of most of the worlds, introduced us to most of the kings, and had some pretty big fight scenes. If you're looking for a deep dive into the world of "the kings," this is definitely for you. Certainly not a light read, you really have to push through to get your HEA reward at the end.

3.5/ 5 stars

I really enjoyed the characters and world. I felt like the story moved so fast that it lost some of the character development. I wish that the story would have slowed down and the storyline would have been built up so that I would have been more emotionally connected when a twist took place. There were also moments where I felt like the two main characters voices were not different enough for me and wording used did not match the character I was reading. With so much happening and so many characters sometimes when a minor character was mentioned I would forget who exactly they were. Overall good book with a bit of improvement could have been great.

I can honestly say I don't know how my tablet made it, so many time's I wanted to fling it across the room and then stomp on it. Let me start by saying I hate weak, whiney female leads. Belle was this and more TSTL is her middle name. I get she just turned 18, but I raised 4 daughter's and if any of them acted like her I would kick my own ass for raising them that way. She annoyed me so much, I literally could care less what happened to her. Yet even as much as I disliked her, I hated the hero more. Werewolf King Keith Blake...was a nasty, rude, cheating, abusive and as old as he is ignorant. She has a choice of mates and I prayed, begged, and pleaded for her to pick someone, anyone but him. I have read book's with an anti-hero and the author redeemed them beautifully. Not even close with this one. I hated him from the beginning to the end. The story had a good base, but the author made the characters so unlikable I couldn't move past it.

Some spoilers ahead: I loved the plot of this book but there were quite few holes that made me unhappy. The main character, Bella, has been with her werewolf family since she’s 8 and she doesn’t think it’s strange that she doesn’t remember anything from before? Then Kieth the main character’s mate is the quite rude brooding guy, but when the narrative switches to his character he’s suddenly all talkive. Basically the male version of Bella. I was honestly bored. This book had so many missing components. I rated this at two star since I thought it was interesting that Bella was the true mate to each faction of the fantasy world.

The synopsis promised mystery, shapeshifters and a promise of something more.

It just didn’t deliver, and it just made me want to cry out in frustration!

The story was jam-packed with a heavy plotline (which at times got very tiring), so many characters that you never really got to learn enough about their backstory. It was hard for me to connect with Belle…who was 18. I felt this character needed to be maybe slightly older for it to be believable. I mean Belle experiences a variety of things, such as being kidnapped, tortured, offered up for sex and being trapped spiritually. After all of that, she still comes out sane and manages to have twin *spoiler alert*

There were good points, the world was intriguing, and I loved the Witches and Werewolf packs. Plus Jared, The Werewolf King, has significant progress through the book, it’s just a shame that Belle and he didn’t seem to jell for me.

This book threw me as it got great reviews. I know I have high expectations when it comes to paranormal romance, Das is close to creating a fantastic series. I will try and read the other books in the trilogy, so here hoping that they will be a bit more refined.

I am a fan of paranormal stories so looked forward to reading this book. I was greatly surprised and pleased by the development of this story and the characters as well. I found the book to be filled with constant challenges for Belle and Keith, the Werewolf King. As they fought through these challenges to be together, it made for a very fascinating story. I loved the introduction of all the other characters in this book and look forward to the next book in this series...great start to a great series!

the book started quite slow, however once it got going and the action started it was a very good book. I will continue to read the series.

Not my usual read. but I've been converted. A great read, really enjoyed the journey. Hope there's more to come. This book is told with two view points Belle an eighteen year old werewolf/witch and Keith the werewolf king. She is the mate for all paranormal kings, yes even Keith no matter how much he denies It. Belle's journey details the struggle to control new powers and the realisation that she was never a werewolf as well as being the mate to the unpleasant beast that has taken her from her family. Keith's struggle is how can Belle be his mate when she is not a werewolf. And how to protect her from the other kings who want to mate with her.

It read like something I would find at fictionpress. The characters were empty tropes with no chemistry, and the story needed at least another edit.

I’m sorry, this missed the mark for me. The writing was slow and the characters didn’t have chemistry nor were well fleshed out, I felt.

This book needed another edit. The language was clumsy and the story was too long. The idea was interesting but it just wasn't carried out well. It seems to be a trend with New Adult. Just because you're writing about 18-year-old kids doesn't mean you don't have to adhere to some standards for writing. Also the cover completely sucks. There is literally no reason for her to be naked. You are writing a book for women, not men, stop it with the male gaze already.
