If I have said it once, I have said it a thousand times, Samanthe Beck’s book are some of my very favorite treats. She weaves the sexiest stories with characters are strong in will and intentions. Her newest book, Dirty Games, part of the Tropical Temptations continuum is all that and more. Her heroine and hero are put together on what should be a mission impossible, but it turns into something even hotter than the resort where they are staying.

This book struck a chord in me that I really was not expecting. Not only is Dirty Games a hot AF romance, but is about control, taking complete ownership of one’s life and destiny, but also accepting that you can’t be a super-hero to everyone – you have to be your own first.

Quinn Sheridan bears too many burdens – the how’s and why’s make you want to reach through the page or screen and hug her tight. I loved her. LOVED. HER. She had sass and good lord was she stubborn, but she needed that someone to not only help her recognize that she was way, way stronger than she gave herself credit for, but also that she didn’t have to carry the weight alone.

Luke McLean. OH, MY YES!!! Though he saw Quinn through a pair of lust-colored glasses, he could also see her for all of her strength and the sheer will to be a successful actress, not for the accolades, but her own satisfaction. Luke is the good man behind the strong woman, supporting her because he knows no other way.

These two had a chemistry that was off ALL the charts. Each and every single moment in their company could heat your house on cold, cold night. While their sexiest of times, were truly hot, I really loved those moments where they verbally sparred – it was foreplay at it’s best.

Dirty Games more than satisfied my Samanthe Beck craving, but left me wanting more. Get your hands on this book and enjoy!!

Happy reading!!!

Laurie’s Rating: 5 STARS

Sizzlingly steamy and deliciously dirty, Samanthe Beck gives us a great story of an actress in of a makeover and a controlling hard core trainer who will accept nothing less than complete submission. The push pull of the relationship between Quinn and Luke is fun to watch as they move from client and trainer to something nothing had been looking or ever expected to find.

A well written book with some amazing characters makes this a great read and one I definitely recommend.

3.5☆ This was a sweet, engaging and easy read. That had little angst a few fun moments, likable characters and a storyline that for the most part held my interest. And as someone who is new to this series I didn't feel like I was missing out on anything by having not read any of the previous stories. However I didn't feel much of a connection between Quinn and Luke. Yet they did have some banter going on. Which did help make this story enjoyable to read.

Desperate to get ready for her upcoming movie Quinn reluctantly gets a trainer. From the moment she meets Luke she feels a hunger that ignites within her. This is totally different than the hunger that consumed her as she healed. Coming to grips with the new constraints she struggles with helping her brother. Quinn tried to remain strong with Luke but will she finally fall? Her strength can be felt and the determination she has to be better than she was yesterday.

This was a super sexy story and I loved the main characters' chemistry, and how they both fought it for so long. It was a bit of a slow burn for that reason, and it was so hot!

Quinn Sheridan is facing the biggest movie role of her career so far, and she needs help. Her twin brother is an addict, and as she was physically shuttling him into a rehab facility, they took a tumble and she sprained her knee. So, for the last couple months, she's been sitting on the couch and comfort eating, other than her physical therapy, which thankfully, has gotten her knee back to full strength. But, while she still looks great, for anyone else in the world, for a Hollywood actress about to star in an action movie, she's too soft. She needs to be whipped into shape ASAP, and luckily her agent knows just the man for the job.

Luke McLean is a top tier trainer of the rich and famous. Though, he's moved away from that more and more in the last few years, and instead has been focusing on regular people who really need help with weight management, or learning to exercise again after amputations, etc. But, he owes his old friend a favor, so he agrees to take on the actress, assuming it'll be a disaster since they only have 6 weeks to make it happen. But, his fee is substantial, and he is more than willing to be a tough taskmaster. He has no idea what to expect, but Quinn definitely isn't it. He's had a bad experience in the past mixing business with pleasure and swore he'd never do it again, but Quinn makes it so hard to resist.

Luke and Quinn's chemistry was off the charts, and it was made even hotter, and more volatile, by how they each try to fight it, for their own reasons. Quinn doesn't want anyone to know how she hurt herself, and it becomes a bone of contention between them. Luke wants her, but he doesn't really want to, and she takes that personally. Through all the hard work and shared meals, they really get to know each other, and fall into much more than mutual lust. But, he has no real respect for her chosen career, and she isn't willing to be fully honest with him about what's going on in her life. It becomes quite the rough road, especially when the bottom falls out of their situation, and they both say things that are hard to take back.

I really enjoyed this book, and the characters push-pull dynamic. Their banter was top notch, and I loved all of their interactions. The sexy scenes were super steamy, and I loved their connection. Since the main characters were isolated on a tropical island, we didn't get a ton of side characters here, but they weren't overly necessary when the main character's bond was so strong. I always enjoy this authors work, and I'm almost sad this is a standalone, as I look so forward to her series. Her series always have such great supporting characters, who get their own stories later down the road. I'll definitely be waiting, impatiently, for what's next from this author!

Received an ARC at no cost to author on behalf of netgalley. Quinn get a break out role in an action movie, and she is excited but scared her brother will ruin it. Aaand he almost does, by injuring her and now she needs to get in shape asap.. enter Luke, who is going to be her training and is super hot to boot. They start off rocky since he has been burned by actors and is not nice to Quinn, and she is upset with good reason. What happens next? Do they stay hating each other? Or do they act on attraction? You need to read, but keep a fan nearby, because it is hot!!

Samanthe Beck takes readers on one deliciously naughty tropical getaway in the aptly-titled Dirty Games. While this book has sun, fun, and enough steam to delight anyone looking for a fast and hot read, there’s also a healthy dose of emotion that gives the story heart and makes you want to come back for more.

Quinn Sheridan is a hardworking actress on the verge of making it big, going from popular TV actress to blockbuster movie star. The only problem is, after recovering from a knee sprain she is out of shape and only has six weeks to get into a skintight leather cat suit. When her agent sends her to paradise, it’s not for fun, but for hardass trainer Luke McLean to get her video game heroine-ready. Both Quinn and Luke had me from the get-go. Luke may be strict, but he’s also caring and compassionate. He’s got a good heart and he’s very good with his hands, which makes him a pretty drool-worthy hero. He’s been burned by Hollywood in the past and has no desire to get sucked into Quinn’s world. But there’s something about the spirited, determined actress he can’t help but be drawn to. Quinn is no spoiled diva, but someone who has worked hard to get where she is and who has very real emotional problems that comes from having an addict twin and a mother who enables him. There were times that my heart just broke for Quinn. I loved her mix of strength and vulnerability. She’s not used to being able to count on someone and that sometimes leads her to making mistakes. Her romance with Luke is fast-paced, but the situation Quinn is in means she has to open up relatively quickly to him which breaks down some of his walls in turn. Sparks fly between the two of them from the start, but their trainer-client relationship and all that goes with it means that getting involved is a terrible idea. Terrible idea or not, the sexual tension between them is hot as hell and when that tension boils over… Well, this book isn’t called Dirty Games for no reason.

Dirty Games is has a great mix of passion, fantasy, and emotion. It has all the sparks and sass I’ve come to expect from Ms. Beck’s work and I hated it whenever I had to put the book down. All in all I adored Dirty Games and I cannot wait to revisit Quinn and Luke!

Quinn Sheridan has been on a tv show, playing the role of a perky cheerleader for the past 5 years. She has finally broken through to the big screen playing a kick-ass heroine from a video game franchise. But the movie can still replace her before shooting begins, and a knee injury knocked her on her ass for a couple of months, so her defined body isn’t so defined anymore. Now she’s got to work with an egomaniac personal trainer on a private island resort and she isn’t even a little happy about it. Not to mention he’s ridiculously hot and the activity she wants to put her best efforts into do not involve weights or a treadmill. But this movie is make or break and she can’t afford to lose the role (for a lot of reasons) so she better get her head in the game and start kicking ass like the heroine she is about to play.

Luke McLean wants absolutely nothing to do with the Hollywood starlet. If it wasn’t for a personal favor to a very good friend, he would have declined immediately. He’s had his share of spoiled celebrity brats and he got away from it. Now he trains those who are looking to save their lives and don’t give a rip about Hollywood status. He’s supposed to be on vacation, but he’s turned it into a training session instead. He goes into the job knowing exactly what to expect and is floored when he realizes that Quinn is much more than what he had assumed. Worse, his fantasies involving Quinn on the weight bench, in the pool, in his bed … pretty much everywhere won’t stop. Doesn’t help that the temptress seems to want him just as bad. But he doesn’t cross certain boundaries for professional reasons – and he’s sure Quinn is just reacting to the fact that the training has made her completely dependent on him.

This is my second trip to the Tropical Temptation world and I found I really enjoyed myself again. The stories are similar in that the main characters have certain careers and so they are saddled with living a life of certain expectation and people making assumptions about their character. However, they are more than what people think they are. In his case though, Quinn and Luke have certain preconceived ideas about each other that they have to work past. It was pretty funny watching them react to their own incorrect expectations of a Hollywood star and a personal trainer – only to find out they were completely wrong. I’m not real sure how they managed to keep from jumping each other for so long with all of the sexual tension between the, but I was kind of glad they held off for a while – at least until it was inevitable. I have to admit, at one point, I thought they’d get through the whole training session with giving in to their desires, but no sex on the exclusive island isn’t really an option, now is it? 😊

I wouldn’t say these characters were deep, but they each had a well-developed background that explained why they made certain assumptions. Background aside, I would understand said assumptions given their career paths and interaction within those careers. The book contained a few secondary characters, but none really made much of an impression on me. However, I do see how Quinn’s brother could develop into his own story of redemption. Given the right circumstances and the right female lead, he could have one heck of a story. Overall, this was a quick-paced, entertaining read. The characters are spunky and their attraction is palpable. If you are looking for a steamy read to polish off one lazy afternoon, I’d recommend reading this one. Heck, probably the whole series now that I have read two books in the series. All books can be read as a standalone and all are from different authors, so it gives the series a bit of variation. Either way, you won’t be disappointed with an afternoon … or week at the exclusive island.

I have many things I didn't like about this book. I will not go into them, because they are my issues. But I struggled with this one.

Quinn's life is a hot mess! She's finally got a break out role in an up and coming action movie that will take her acting career far. That's if her brother doesn't ruin it first.

Her brother is spiraling down from a drug addiction. As she intervenes to get him in rehab, he injures her knee just a few months before she starts filming. After resting for weeks to heal, she now needs to get in shape and fast.

Eddie, Quinn's agent calls in a favor and sets her up with personal trainer Luke. Only Luke is not happy about the favor being called in. He's been burned by celebrities and he's made no secret to how he feels about pampered actresses.

Things between Luke and Quinn start out very rocky. Luke doesn't respect Quinn's career and Quinn immediately goes into defense mode. These two bash heads at first but Luke realizes his attraction to Quinn is something he may not be able to fight.

Once we got past the hate part of their relationship, I really began to enjoy this story. I love Samanthe Beck's writing. She does a very good job of creating a sizzling attraction between her main characters and Quinn and Luke were no different.

3.5 Who's In Charge with These Dirty Games Stars
* * *1/2 Spoiler Free
Samanthe Beck understands sexy and this book is no different. She uses the idea of a movie star needing an in demand trainer to whip her into film ready shape.

Hey, the Camera puts on the pounds...Good thing they have chemistry... can work it off with the regular exercises and then the sexual ones.....

Seriously, this did have a bit more going for it with the relationships Quinn Sheridan had with her mother and sibling. She was an enabler causing her to not do what was the best for herself... instead doing for them which would have blow back for her career.

This puts Quinn in a tricky position as she thought she was going to have 12 weeks to get into Acting/Fighting shape for her next big opportunity. With all the continual stress her family has been putting her through, the need for comfort has been there... which means less working out and indulging with a few restricted sweets.... She has a beautiful figure; womanly and fine... but the screen and camera is cruel with Hollywood is even meaner... so reducing and doing strength training was already on the calendar...but not for only 6 WEEKS!

This means the most requested, most difficult to book trainer is needed... Stat! Oops, doesn't seem this is going to happen for Quinn as the infamous Luke McLean has other plans for the next six weeks... and none of them have any client, not even a spoiled actress wanting to move up the cinematic food chain, is in them...

But when he is offered full complete control, a location which is perfection and an obscene fee...What the hell, Luke decides to change his plans.

Their first meeting lays the conflict groundwork... causing all kinds of yummy chemistry... waiting to explode.

With Samanthe Beck being the one doing this, it guarantees all the wanting, all the bickering, all the touching while training... all of it builds to make it all worthwhile....Not only in the results of the training...

But in the DOING....

Luke is in complete control training Quinn for the movie...and finally in all other things, hmmmm.
It seems everyone got in great shape.

Captivating sexy romance

This is the first time I've read Samantha Beck but I'm confident it won't be the last. I could not put down this book reading it in one sitting. Quinn and Luke were a great couple. I loved how the relationship went from antagonistic to lustful to love. I don't want to give any specifics up about the plot lines other than to say the author addressed some serious subjects very thoughtfully. I'm definately recommending this book to my friends.

As someone who hasn’t seen the inside of a gym in (ahem) some time, a novel about a Hollywood starlet given six weeks to get into tip-top superhero shape for her next role…not something I could relate to. But as a Samanthe Beck fan, I didn’t want to miss a read.

Of course, her celebrity trainer, Luke McClean, has all kinds of preconceived (and none of them flattering) ideas about Quinn, his new client. And truthfully, although they’re training in privacy in a tropical paradise, I kinda hated him for a good third of the book. Talk about strict. Talk about unyielding. Unapproving. Belittling. I am sure I would have bailed on him.

At 23, she’s already fighting Hollywood ageism and she’s got a crushing financial burden to face courtesy of someone she loves. Quitting is not an option. He meanwhile has reasons he avoids actresses.

But the chemistry is high and they’re soon conducting some dirty games of their own. There’s some light physical D/s, but intense mental D/s. This is not an area of romance/erotica in which I am fluent so more knowledgeable readers can weigh in.

Hollywood being Hollywood (and apparently it’s worse than we thought) there’s addiction, social media betrayal, lookism and other vices. But after it all, a happy ending with a hero who redeemed himself at least to me.

Recommended.

Sun, sand, and Heat. Who could ask for more!

Dirty Games by Samantha Beckman is a very enjoyable light read; a great way to pass a lazy Sunday.
I liked this author’s writing style. The story was set in present day and the world building was believable. There were very few actual characters in the story, but they were all well written. Of course, the main leads were fully developed, but side characters were also fleshed out enough that they were more than just a name and a plot device.

The plot itself was quite simple. There was no real suspense or dramatic angst moments, it was just a nice, well-paced romance, with more than just a little steam.

If you are looking for a book to take your mind off a stress, or just as an escape, this may just be the book for you.

Quinn is an actress whose next movie was supposed to start filming in twelve weeks and has now been cut to just six! Her agent calls in the big guns! Luke McLean is a personal trainer tasked with getting Quinn in shape for the filming to start.  He's good, he's expensive, and he doesn't bow to celebrities.  Quinn will have to work hard to get there, but he can get her looking how she must.

I really liked Quinn! She has a heart of gold, and when it comes to her family-especially her twin brother, she does whatever needs doing-often to her detriment!!  She doesn't like having to go to boot camp-even if it's at a 5 star resort in the Caribbean.  She also wasn't expecting Luke to be gorgeous and so demanding.  But Quinn has no choice. She needs his help. Luke, on the other hand, I had a much harder time getting a lock on.  Little by little we get glimmers of the effect Quinn was having on him, but I wanted more details.  I wanted some more details throughout really. Like with how they both reacted and then continued their training after something significant occurred. We tended to get jumps in the storyline instead.  So when Luke said he fell for her, it was a hard sell for me.

I did, however, enjoy the storyline!  It is totally believable and I am sure this sort of thing is commonplace in Hollywood. I was rooting for Quinn to get it done and she didn't disappoint!

Quinn has gained weight after an injury and needs to get back in shape in 6 weeks for an action hero.
Luke, a celebrity trainer, is the best there is but he demands strict adherence to his rules
and he will make sure the desired results are achieved. Luke has a rule of no fraternizing with clients, but the chemistry sizzling between them is making things difficult for him.
Dirty Games is a hot, hot , hot read. The story got me hooked immediately and kept me captive till the end. It was a sweet, funny, emotional, steamy read and I look forward to reading more in the series.
