This was an okay read. I felt it was not very deep and the issues seemed kind silly and the characters issues seemed very immature. That said it is well written, though it appears to be part of a series. It can easily stand alone, though a lot of the couples names and relationships seemed to over my head.

This is the story of Celine and Jack. Two years before they were happily married when they have a big miunderstanding. Jack knows it looked bad but Celine would come around and well Celine runs away hoping Jack shows her how much he cares by following her.

As I said immature. Celine never comes around and before Jack knows it he is divorced. Now its two years later and at a mutual friends wedding they see each other again. Jack wants to rekindle and well Celine doesn't. What we have is Jack trying to get his wife back.

It was an enjoyable story, I just felt it was a fairly shallow book. Its an easy story with not a lot of passion . They also were very young and I felt too immature.

I enjoyed this second-chance romance involving a couple that divorced because of a huge misunderstanding and lack of communication. The trope isn’t original, but Anne McAllister handles it well and convincingly as old feelings resurface when Jack and Celina meet again two years after the separation.
I liked both main characters, they’re complex and multi-layred; the take on Jack’s celebrity status was expertly done. As we have both points of view we get to know how Jack suffered with the divorce and I liked that insight too. A lot of the plotline progression has to do with the characters’ emotions and feelings and McAllister knows how to write those dimensions in a believable and heartfelt way.
Now, I’m looking forward to read Fredrik and Ally’s story.

Genre: General Fiction (adult), Romance

I love deep, dark, intensive novels but sometimes I just want an easy, quick, escapist read, one where I can just enjoy the story without having to use my brain to work out complex plots. This book delivered all that, and was a fun read.

I loved Celina, and so felt for her when we found out what had made her leave Jack - well, her reaction would be what most would do I think. She still loves Jack, even though they are divorced, even though she's not seen him for so long.
Then her best friend, relative to her employer, tells her Jack is to be his best man, and of course she'll be at the wedding as PA to her employer and as Friend to Jonas....no escape, and worse, its once of those weddings where celebrations go on for days.

Jack, he's fiercely proud, and was so hurt that Celina didn't give him a chance to explain, wouldn't talk to him, didn't trust him, and he's angry at that when it all goes down but...he still loves her too and this chance to spend time with her, to get a chance to explain is one he's seized on.
He's such a well known star though its hard to escape the ladies and get Celina on her own, and she's certainly doing her best to avoid him.
I wanted them to make things work, they seemed such a true couple, so good for each other, so in love and yet if they wouldn't ever get to talk what hope was there?

Its a fun story, and even when Jack does get her to hear his story, there are still barriers that crop up - that's so true in real life, nothing does ever go truly smoothly.
I would have liked a bit more of the Rock Star/band scene, it seemed he was a star for the novel but the action didn't really reflect that, apart from the ever present paparazzi. He could have been anyone famous, not necessarily a rock star, and I was hoping for more of the background that goes with that scene.

Stars: 4, a fun story, easy to read and relax with.

This novel was a good read. It involves two characters who still love each other even though they are no longer together. Misunderstandings affected their relationship, but now they have a chance to reconcile.
Celina Harris works as the appointment secretary to San Michele’s Serene Dowager Margaret for over two years, since she divorced Rock star Jack Masterson. She believes she is over him but when her best friend Jonas is getting married and Jack is his best man, her feelings return when she sees Jack in the flesh.
Jack lost the one woman he loved due to a misunderstanding. He has a chance to win her back and will pull out all the stops. He knows Celie is the only woman for him. However, he has to make choices that will impact their fragile relationship. When Jack tells Celie want happened the night that "destroyed" their relationship, she realizes she did not trust Jack due to his "rock star" status. Now she has a chance to show Jack how much she loves him. Both will have to make sacrifices if they want their relationship to prosper. However, it has been over two years and is each willing to sacrifice their career for the other or compromise?
