This book was amazing!
It’s about a young woman named Emmeline who goes on a three week vacation to Miami to get away from her family business. Once there, she finds a young man named Alex who she falls madly in love with.
The book takes an erotic turn, and the pair hook up.
Alex is not who he seems , and he reveals most of his secrets to Emily(as she likes to be called). The next morning, he is gone. Where did he go? What is he thinking? Who knows?
What Emmeline does that morning is gets ready to confront her father about what he did. What happens? We don’t know, because the book ends with “to be continued.”
I can’t wait for the rest of it. 5 stars!!

Wow! Great book by Alicia Maxwell. Alex and Emmeline are great together. This book keeps you on the edge of your seat and wanting answers to your questions.... Great read.

I enjoyed reading this romance because of the characters and the interesting story. It kept me involved because it was well written. It had mystery to it. I plan to read more from this author. Luckily I have now read the second book

One To Watch Me and One To See Me are a series of 2 books in "The ONE Series".  Emmeline needs to get away from her family, former fiance and job for a bit.  She ends up booking a trip from Chicago to Miami to stay in a beach house for a bit to regroup and find herself.  Someone there is watching her, and she knows it.  She ends up meeting a handsome stranger and spending almost all of her free time with him.  Their relationship turns hot and heavy almost immediately and she seems to throw out all of her fears and inhibitions even though she normally seems to have such a good head on her shoulders.  These books are two short pieces of the story, but I could not stop reading either and wanting to know more about what was going on with her former fiance and if he was playing her and her father and his business.  I also really wanted to know who the heck was watching her, even though I had my ideas from the beginning of the series as to who it might be. (I doubted myself a couple of times, but in the end, I was right)  I really enjoy these quick read romance stories because there is a lot of action and not a lot of backstory.

This book seems to be a story of a holiday romance with a bit of suspense thrown in. While I didn't really feel connected to the characters, the storyline has me intrigued & I will be diving into the second book straight away to see what happens

This was a good book and an enjoyable story..

Emmeline needs a break from her busy and unfulfilling life. She's broken off her engagement and is ready for changes for the better. She gets more than she bargained for when she meets Alex. He's handsome and easy to talk to, but he's keeping things hidden.
The story hooks you in and you're wondering what's the twist that's coming... be ready for the cliffy

Wow!!! This book completely took me by surprise. I can't wait to read book #2! This was one hot, steamy, and suspenseful read.

Emmeline Weiss has always bent to her parents will. She joined the family business and dated and got engaged to someone her parents picked out. When her life becomes more than she can handle, she goes for Miami to find herself. Only she's not the only one looking.

She meets an amazing guy and they seem to connect on all levels. But when she's nearly attacked walking back to her rental in Miami, things change. She has felt someone watching her since she arrived in Florida, now those suspicions were confirmed.

I absolutely love this book. It has drawn me in since the beginning. From all the mysteries and the love story between alex and emmeline, I can't wait to read more! Watching their story unfold has been amazing. I can't even imahine whats coming next for them.

ONE To Watch Me by Alicia Maxwell is Book 1 and Part 1 in "The One" Series. This is the story of Emmeline and Alex. This does end with a cliffhanger to set you up for the next installment in their story which is the book called "One To See Me".
Emmeline has her life controlled by her family, her job then her future husband who is a serial cheater. When she can't take it anymore and wants to be alone to rediscover herself she meets Alex. Since starting her time away she has felt someone watching her but tried to move past it. Emmeline does move forward to have a fling with Alex. But there is more to Alex then just a fling.

I received an ARC of this book. I have to say I enjoyed the one to see me and one to watch me book. The sizzling spark between Alex and Eline makes for a hot and steamy read. When they had to be separated I admit that was a nice heart tugging time in the book. Nice sizzling hot read.

This picks up right where we left off at book one - I finally got some of my answers!!
You really need to read book one to know what is going on but I will say now - as mad as I was about all the questions I had at the end of book one - I am quite the happy reader now
Suspenseful - The plot twists are on point and will give you whiplash if you aren't careful
The antagonists are so vivid you literally cringe when they enter a scene not to mention I mislabeled one or possibly two in the previous book
Romantic - I love the chemistry between Alex and Emily - they are quite the couple - I am not saying more on that
I will admit I was a bit unhappy with book one - I felt like there were so many twists and plot drops that I was drowning in questions with no answers and then when I was dropped off the cliff (okay it was a molehill) I was a tad mad -- I am apologizing now for not being patient
Maxwell does an excellent job of dragging her readers in kicking and screaming and captivating us right to the end

New to this author. Book was slow to start. Once she met Alex book moved faster. Liked their story. Good characters.

My Thoughts:
This is a debut novel and I certainly will be awaiting more from this author. This book had me from the first chapter. Emmeline has been living her life under the tight control of her parents and then her fiancé, who her father handpicked. Emmeline had no say in her life. She worked for the family business, went to the parties that benefited the business and her fiancé Matthew. She has lost her identity of who she really is. Someone’s daughter, someone’s fiancé, someone’s boss. When she finally can’t take it anymore, she decides to leave her fiancé because he has been a serial cheater. Her father and mother are not supportive of her and want her to get over this nonsense and go back to the controlling and abusive Matthew. Emmeline wants a new start and leaves Chicago behind and heads to Miami to clear her head and to find herself.

Emmeline checks into her condo and settles in. She takes in the city and has a sixth sense that someone is watching her. She is constantly looking around trying to figure out who is following her. Then she meets Alex. Oh Alex! He is amazing. He is charming, handsome, sexy, and he gets Emmeline. The chemistry between these two is crazy!! Wow! I had to fan myself a few times.

There is a lot of suspense as to who is watching Emmaline and who tried to accost her. There is a lot that is going on and I was held captivated as events unfolded and information came to light. Trust is tested, and alliances are made. I don’t want to give anything away as there are some pretty intense happenings. I was so happy to be able to read the second book right away as cliffhangers drive me crazy. I’m greedy, I want instant gratification and find out what’s going to happen next.

If you love romantic suspense, give this book a try.

The beginning of this book had a lot of detail – too much for me, perhaps for word count? I would rather have the story in one book with less detail of clothing. That said I believe Alicia Maxwell will be a great author as she continues to write.

I was really intrigued with the story of Eline and Alex. It was definitely interesting to see how she slowly opens up but how she is also so aware of the fact that she is being watched.. My only wish is that the ending wasn't such a cliffhanger! I wanted to know what happens next!

Not a bad book but in the end it was a little confusing.

This is the first book by this author that I've read. I fell in love with the characters from the first page. The characters have amazing chemistry. I was hooked from the first page with this book. The mixture of hot and steamy scenes, twist and turns and some suspense make this an amazing story. a slight cliff hanger ending so be warned. I can't wait to read more from this author in the future.

The first few pages were a slow start to this book, but once it got a few chapters in the pace definitely picked up & I couldn't stop reading. Was desperate to see what happened next between the characters, the comparisons made about her lives in Chicago & Miami seemed to have been there to show what a different person she was becoming. Looking forward to reading more & would recommend to friends
