Thank you NetGalley for the ARC copy of "One To See Me" book two in the One series for my honest review.
This is the second book in the One Series. Alicia picks up where book 1 left off. I was hooked right from the start. The questions that you have from the first book are answered in this book. An amazing read.
This story is more gripping, with alot of the unanswered questions answered as you read. I was little disappointed with the ending. I was left wanting more from these characters.
This is an amazing series of books, which will keep you hooked from the first page. I can't wait for more from this author in the future.
Highly recommended

One To Watch Me and One To See Me are a series of 2 books in "The ONE Series".  Emmeline needs to get away from her family, former fiance and job for a bit.  She ends up booking a trip from Chicago to Miami to stay in a beach house for a bit to regroup and find herself.  Someone there is watching her, and she knows it.  She ends up meeting a handsome stranger and spending almost all of her free time with him.  Their relationship turns hot and heavy almost immediately and she seems to throw out all of her fears and inhibitions even though she normally seems to have such a good head on her shoulders.  These books are two short pieces of the story, but I could not stop reading either and wanting to know more about what was going on with her former fiance and if he was playing her and her father and his business.  I also really wanted to know who the heck was watching her, even though I had my ideas from the beginning of the series as to who it might be. (I doubted myself a couple of times, but in the end, I was right)  I really enjoy these quick read romance stories because there is a lot of action and not a lot of backstory.
I received a free e-copy of these books in order to write this review, I was not otherwise compensated.

This is a great follow up to the first book. I was happy that it answered all the questions I was wondering the answers to. I really enjoyed this series and would love to see more of these characters!

I really wanted to like this book but sadly it fell flat for me. I feel like the reader didn't really get answers with regards to Matthew, her father or who was watching & the story ended quite abruptly. I was left disappointed & wouldn't rush to read more from this author

I voluntarily read this advanced readers copy of this book. Strong characters and a great story line. I can't wait to read more work from Alicia either. I just couldn't put this book down once I started reading it. I was very well entertained and excited reading it.

This is the second book in the series and it picks up right where the other one left off and does not end in a cliffhanger.
Emmeline is going back to Chicago to confront her father about everything she has learned. Things do not turn out like she thought they would. I do not want to give too much away but this is a great read.
I received this book from NetGalley for my honest review.

A great steamy smoking hot romance with characters that makes you want them to find happiness. Could read more about these characters.

This is the second book in the series and thankfully did not end in another cliffhanger. This picks up fairly close to the end of the last book and takes some weird turns. Not sure how to explain the bodyguard/pretend boyfriend situation. And I wish there was more background on the mysterious goings on of Alex and what happened in the past. Honestly more questions than answers in the end. Bottom line, an interesting read.

This is the second book in this series. Although this book gave more details about what was really going on behind Emily's back, it didn't really explain much about Matthew's connection with Alex other than an old enemy. Also, Matthew was so intent with his threats to Emily, yet nothing happened. He disappeared, the FBI was never involved, etc.

Emily goes back to Chicago to see her father and be done with everything there, only to find a package from Alex sitting at her desk waiting for her. The package shows that Matthew has been building his own company using Emily and her Father as a cover. He stole information about real estate sales and bought them for his own clients. When she shows her Father all the evidence, he cuts them both out of the computer database and then has a heart attack. After being rushed to the hospital, they declare him ok, and Emily gets dismissed by her own parents, thinking that if they give her the cold shoulder she will be compliant.

Emily decides to take advantage of Matthew being out of town and packs up her stuff from his place with movers. After overseeing the last box, he comes home fuming and he pulls out a belt to beat her with, but one of the movers interrupts and she makes a run for it. Matthew needs her to change her father's mind, so he has people following her. She stays at a hotel until the following day to catch her flight, only to see Alex waiting for her.

He warns her about Matthew, how dangerous he is, and how he will be persistent in getting her back. When her phone doesn't stop ringing her every 5 seconds from Matthew, she finally understands that Alex was right. After being dismissed again by her parents, she catches an earlier flight and goes back to Florida. When Matthew shows up there, she already has protection at her side.

But not having Alex's trust will never do.

ONE To See Me by Alicia Maxwell is Book 2 Part 1 in "The One" series. This continues the story of Emmeline and Alex. Since this continues telling their story that started in the first book "One To Watch Me" I would say to read that one first. This book starts right off were the last one left us. Emmeline is confronting her father and trying to move forward. There are secondary characters that are introduced, one being Vic who has been sent by Alex to protect her.
Really enjoyed reading their story.

This picks up right where we left off at book one - I finally got some of my answers!!
You really need to read book one to know what is going on but I will say now - as mad as I was about all the questions I had at the end of book one - I am quite the happy reader now
Suspenseful - The plot twists are on point and will give you whiplash if you aren't careful
The antagonists are so vivid you literally cringe when they enter a scene not to mention I mislabeled one or possibly two in the previous book
Romantic - I love the chemistry between Alex and Emily - they are quite the couple - I am not saying more on that
I will admit I was a bit unhappy with book one - I felt like there were so many twists and plot drops that I was drowning in questions with no answers and then when I was dropped off the cliff (okay it was a molehill) I was a tad mad -- I am apologizing now for not being patient
Maxwell does an excellent job of dragging her readers in kicking and screaming and captivating us right to the end

4 Stars

*This story is for mature audiences only. Contains explicit scenes and language intended for adults 18+

Synopsis:
Emmeline Weiss is facing the most important day of her life. The stakes are high: her high-powered, high-society life in Chicago could come crumbling down around her. But if it did, would she be in a free fall, or would she be free? In a time like this, Emmeline knows she needs to sort enemies from friends—and quickly—but who can she trust? And what if trust has more than ONE definition?

As her life dismantles into dark questions and darker answers, the last thing Emmeline expects is for passion and chemistry, physical need and wild sex, to take over. For the first time, with this sexy stranger, Emmeline feels seen.

But maybe it’s because someone is watching…

My Thoughts:
This is the second book in this duet and it picks right up where the first left off and I thought the first book was intense. Holy heck! I was gripping my iPad with a death grip as I flew through this. The feelings that someone was watching her didn’t fade. Was her father having her watched or was it Matthew?

The chemistry is no less intense between Alex and Emmeline. The secondary characters that were introduced in book one has a larger role in this book. I loved Vic and Meri! There are twists I didn’t see coming. Trust was a big issue that had to be overcome, and it was a long road. Emmeline had many questions and Alex was a true puzzle. He just wasn’t forthcoming. He knew so much about her, but she knew next to nothing about him. For her safety she had to know as little as possible.

I don’t want to give any more details as I want the reader to experience all the excitement in this book. I enjoyed every suspenseful minute! I loved Alex and Emmeline and I look forward to future work by this author.

Emmeline Weiss is facing the most important day of her life. The stakes are high: her high-powered, high-society life in Chicago could come crumbling down around her. She can’t seem to get through to him about her ex-fiancé and his part in the business. She decides to pick up and leave everything and go back to Miami where she can be protected by her new boyfriend Alex and his best friend Vic. But she still feels she is being watched and her ex turns up insisting that she return with him and makes everything right. The book is amazing. When I started reading I couldn't put it down.Keep the great work. This is the second book read by Alicia you should definitely write more of this books.

The continuation of Alex and Eline's story was nice but I found that I was left with so many questions and there were a ton of loose ends. I really wanted to know more about Alex's past and what exactly he did/ was going on in his life. I also found the second book kind of boring. Eline just lives her life and pines over Alex and then it feels like everything happens in the last few pages. It was still a good read, I just wish there was more.

.First let me state this book picks up right where the first left off. I love that about a book. I can take a week or 2 gap but not a month or longer. Thank you Alicia for that!

Emmeline she has her head on straight and knows what she wants. However when it comes to her dad, things don't always go according to plans, well her plans. I don't really like her dad. He is a character I tell you what. He manipulates Emmeline very well. I can relate with her when it comes to her dad in some ways.

The whole relationship with Alex is great. Yes it might be quick but it goes to show something like that can show Emmeline how great those two are together. She has issue as well as Alex, but they manage to work through them.

I seem to have many questions. More than I did with the last book. I hope that there is another book and those questions might be answered. Great book, great read.
