Sweet Christmas Romances 2017 is a bundle of five Christmas Romances that will touch your heart and get you in the holiday mood. Written by five well known authors (two I follow, three that are new discoveries) who know how to weave not only a good story in a short amount of time, but deliver that magic that makes Christmas Romance one of my favorite year-round reading pleasures.

Each novella stands on its own, and every single one is an entertaining romance. Sure, I liked some more than others that’s totally natural. But I’m guessing if you love Christmas Romance then you’ll enjoy each one the same way. Because they’re short and the story blurb gives you a good idea of the basics of each story I’m not going to go into details.

Except to say that I completely enjoyed my time with these couples. And it’s given me a few new to me authors to check out their other works… which is always a bonus for me.

Just as a side note, each of these stories in Sweet Christmas Romances 2017 is available as a single title – but – frankly, you’ll find the better cost bargain by buying them in this bundle of stories, in my opinion.

Find a cozy chair and sit back and fall into Christmas spirit with these fun, charming, touching Christmas stories.

*I received an e-ARC of this novel from the publisher via NetGalley. That does not change what I think of this story. it is my choice to leave a review giving my personal opinion about this book.*

This is a collection of 5 sweet Christmas romances. Some are short story length while others are longer novellas. I was not overly impressed with these stories. I found inconsistencies in all of the stories as if they had not been beta read or edited completely. It is a nice touch to include the recipes for each baker’s specialty however there are errors in the recipes as well.

1) Evie’s Christmas Chocolate Kisses: This story could have been so much better if it was longer. I love the idea for the story and the basis for the but there was minimal plot development and the characters could be so much deeper. I like both Evie and Nick but I love Brewster. Love at first sight can happen but this story was so unrealistic that it was laughable.

2) Analeigh’s Christmas Cupcakes: This is a cute story. I enjoyed the plot and the characters are decently developed for the length of the book. I like that the hero is a regular guy- not a millionaire, ex-military, a doctor, etc.

3) Chrissy’s Christmas Sugar Cookies: This was my favorite of the stories in this set. I enjoyed the plot since there were actually some twists and turns to keep my interest. I like that the town played a larger role in this story than in some of the others. This story was longer than the others which allowed for much better character development. The descriptions of the locations in this book seemed to be more detailed than in the others which made it feel like I was there at times.

4) Amy’s Christmas Casserole: The mysterious stranger gets taken in by the woman who is trying to get over being attacked on her way to her apartment. I like Amy and the whole PTSD idea but the story just seemed off to me. I liked Logan but felt bad for him throughout the entire story. Cass was the stereotypical SEAL with his take charge attitude but I didn’t like him because there had to be more to his story- it was too simple.

5) Margie’s Magic Cookie Bars: I liked this story too. Margie and Bryan are realistic characters. The whole “magic” cookie bars were a bit contrived but the rest of the story was good. I enjoyed the descriptions of the crash scene in the hallway since it made me chuckle. I like the inclusion of a rescue dog, Sam, and his story.

I would like to thank Netgalley and Books to go Now for the ARC of this book set. I have voluntarily provided an honest review.

This book is a compilation of a few short stories all taking place around Christmas and in the food industry (baking shops...). Even though I love Christmas' stories those felt rushed.
The stories were still cute but I prefer longer storylines for romances (Christmas or not).
I was given this book as an ARC for an honnest review.

Sweet Christmas Romances 2017 is a fun collection of Christmas stories. I really enjoyed reading all of them. I pulled for Margie to see how wonderful Bryon was in Margie's Magic Christmas Bars. When Analeigh had her accident on her way to deliver Christmas Wedding cupcakes from her shop, Let Them Eat Cake, in Analeigh's Christmas Cookies I cheered as the match between her and Danny developed. Nicholas really had his work cut out for him when he fell for Chrissy at her shop, Sugar 'N' Spice since he originally let business be more important than his heart. Thankfully Chrissy changed his outlook in Chrissy's Christmas Sugar Cookies. Cassanova, an ex-SEAL helped heal Amy's fears after a brutal purse snatching in Amy's Christmas Casserole which led to their HEA. It took Brewster, a rescued mix of St. Bernard and Newfoundland with a terrible drooling problem and his Vet, Nick to make Evie from Evie's Chocolate Cookies happy and fall in love.

All these stories were warm, full of yummy Christmas treats to prove the old saying, "The way to a man's heart is through is stomach" is a good start to a HEA and Christmas Spirit which I thoroughly enjoyed. I'm sure you will too.

Sweet Christmas Romances 2017 is exactly what it says on the box... a collection of five Christmas romance books which are sweet - in more ways than one. All of the heroines are bakers, either amateur or professional, and the sweet Christmas treats they produce are in some way instrumental to their story. At the end of each book, the author shares a recipe which has been featured in the story - and they all look really yum. I've definitely planning to try out the Bourbon Bacon Cupcakes and the Chocolate Kiss Cookies, at the very least!
Recipes aside, let me quickly run through and rate the stories for you.
Evie's Chocolate Christmas Kisses by Sharon Kleve
This was probably my least favorite story, to be honest. I found it to be very rushed and insta-love, which isn't my cup of tea.
Analeigh's Christmas Cupcakes by Jennifer Conner
I really loved this one about a cupcake baker on her way to a wedding whose work is wrecked by a hit-and-run and the tow truck driver who comes to her rescue. It's actually really nice to read a 'normal' hero... i.e. someone who isn't a billionaire or a Navy SEAL, but just a regular working-class guy who still manages to be a hero to somebody.
Chrissy's Christmas Sugar Cookies by Angela Ford
This one's a little bit insta-love too, but my God, I loved the heroine. Chrissy is sassy and fierce and won't let anyone get her down, not even the Bugatti-driving billionaire who's about to ruin her dream.
Amy's Christmas Casserole by Tammy Tate
I really liked Amy, a recovering assault victim, and Cass aka Casanova, the Navy SEAL she stumbles over. However, this book also featured an awkward love triangle with Amy's trusted friend Logan which really detracted from the story, for me. I was actually hoping it would turn into a threesome, to be honest!
Margie's Magic Cookie Bars by Laura Strickland
Probably my favorite story in the bunch. Margie's got a hopeless crush on a co-worker and can't see that he's a self-centered pr*ck, so she misses the shy, charming guy who has heart-eyes for her - until a little Christmas magic saves the day.
Overall, this is a strongly written and edited bunch of stories, and while they weren't quite to my personal taste (I normally like a little more spice in my romances) I know anyone craving a dose of pure sweetness will love them, at Christmas or any other time of year. I'm happy to give this collection 5 stars.

Baking Magic. A variety of stories of different lengths, the shortest being five chapters and the longest twenty. What they have in common is Christmas, baking and romance. Liked the fact that the authors have included recipes.

Evie’s Christmas Chocolate Kisses by Sharon Kleve
It is love at first sight when Evie lays eyes on handsome veterinarian Nick Tucker when she goes to a pet adoption event. I found this story very quick and rather superficial. Recipe: Chocolate Kiss Cookies.

Analeigh’s Christmas Cookies by Jennifer Conner
Danny comes to Analeigh’s rescue, firstly with his tow truck after she has a fender bender and then in helping to salvage her wedding cupcake order. Recipe: Bourbon Bacon Cupcakes.

Chrissy’s Christmas Sugar Cookies by Angela Ford
Chrissy is drawn to the handsome businessman who comes into her bakery until she realises that he is intending to buy the farm that has special meaning for her and sell it to investors for a strip mall along with a coffee franchise. Nick makes a deal with her for dates in exchange for the annual dance being held at the farm and hopes she will see him in a different light. An enjoyable story. Recipe: Christmas Sugar Cookies.

Amy’s Christmas Casserole by Tammy Tate
Amy moved to Sawyer Creek from San Antonio four years previously as she didn’t feel safe after being attacked by a purse snatcher. Despite therapy she is still afraid of men and being approached by a large male at night, at the back of her cafe throws her into a spin. Cass an ex navy seal has been shot by a stranger and needs Amy to remove the bullet or he will bleed out..... This is the least Christmassy of the tales and also the longest at 20 chapters, it was also probably the one I enjoyed the most. Note: in my ARC copy, chapters 13 & 14 had been reversed. Recipe: Chicken Dorito Casserole.

Margie’s Magic Christmas Bars by Laura Strickland
Margie can’t see Bryan as she only has eyes for Trent, despite the fact that the only time he seems to notice her is when she brings treats into the office. Both Margie and Bryan hope their office’s secret santa exchange will give them their hearts desire. Will Margie finally see that the love she wants is right in front of her? Recipe: Magic Christmas Bars.
