This was a cute cartoon about cats being superheroes saving the day. I thought this little graphic novel would be super fun, but it actually turned out to be just kinda "meh". The actual art was pretty adorable, but yeah the rest was really just meh.

This book tells the story of several cats who also have super powers.

The art is simple and cute, the colors are really vivid.

The plot is also simple, as it’s expected, but there’s a certain point in which it falls flat. However, it comes back to life soon enough.

The characters are lovable and adorable. How could they not be? They’re cats.

However, the villains and their plans feel underwhelming, even for a middle grade book.

Still, if you want to read something short and sweet, this is the book for you.

Rating: 3,5 stars

A really charming book, visually rich and comedically funny. Good for reluctant readers! A great tie in to all thing "heroic" in the media world right now, but also including cats. What's not to love?

This was a really strange and slightly confusing comic book. I love cats and I love comics so this should have been a win win but it just wasn’t the right book for me.

I've never really understood this obsession with the idea that cats live secret lives, but I'm game for most any superhero story. This book has quite a lot of set up, a fairly extensive who's who. This makes it pretty slow to start. It's also rather text heavy.

There has been a trend that has not ended and probably will stay for a long, long, long, LONGGG time: superheroes. And I LOVE superheroes. From Superman to Wonder Woman to Iron Man, I always love a good superhero story. This one sure does take the cake, too, as this story is about a bunch of CATS! Who doesn't like cats other than the occasional cat-hater or super-dog-lover?! I found all the cats to be very nicely drawn and brave when they were facing their enemy. Also, since I find myself to be a mix of Gryffindor and Ravenclaw, I am very happy that a lot of the cats used their brains while also being the bravest they could be.
Although I may have enjoyed this book very much, I did find the story to be a bit disjointed. It never flowed smoothly especially when scenes were shifting and high-action punches and kicks were being thrown into faces. Also, I can see how this book can be a no-no to some as it is targeted towards really young kids and cat-lovers.
However, how can someone really say no to these faces:
(insert cat faces once my blog post is posted)

Soon to be posted on my blog www.newbookcatsreads.blogspot.com.

I just couldn’t get into this book no matter how many times I tried. I feel this might be better for those younger than myself.

A really cute idea that doesn't quite live up to its potential. I love the idea of hero cats saving the day under the radar while the human superheroes get all the glory. It's unique, fun, and something I could really get behind. Unfortunately, the storytelling left me very frustrated.

The first issue of this volume was a bit indicative of how the rest of the series would go. It jumped around a lot, trying to introduce all the characters but at the same time giving me glimpses of other characters/potential plot points that were just left unfinished and dangling. There were also a few points where I was confused and even re-reading, I couldn't be 100% certain I knew what had happened.

And really, that was the volume as a whole. It was extremely episodic, to the point where I had to question whether the creators had an overarching storyline in mind. Most of the plotlines relied more on whimsy and cute to carry forward, and I really wanted something a bit meatier. And again, there were a few points where it just wasn't clear how something progressed.

Maybe the creative team will find their footing and really come into their own. There was a lot potential here, and I loved the artwork. I do hope that this series gets better.

Hmmm... a bit of a muddle, this one. It's perfectly serviceable, although some of the action scenes are far too confusingly drawn. What rubbed me the wrong way was the balance of the book - how it tried to concentrate on the 'hero cats', then on the plight of the father and daughter superheroes who don't know each other's ability and that need to find their astronaut wife/mother, then on both together... It's definitely for the young reader, for which the brash colours and broad characters go some way to making a success, but it's just too much of a melange at the moment, and needs greater editorial control to make it more coherent and distinctive.

Cat lovers everywhere will be clamouring for this fun graphic novel. The art is lovely, and the stories are cute.

A group of cats with unique abilities band together to fight supervillains and crime in general in Stellar City. One of the cats lives with two humans who are also secretly superheroes. In this collection they all have adventures capturing a young man who is taking over the city with pixelated monsters, training the newest hero cat recruit, fighting alien bugs that threaten to eat the superheroes’ house and the entire city, and finding a missing machine that can enlarge vegetables.

A cute and safe entry to superheroes with a bunch of fluffy heroines. The hero cats are adorable but serious about their job of keeping the city safe. Their adventures are short and sweet, not nearly as complex as other modern superhero adventures, but at a level just right for lower grade and middle grade kids with shorter attention spans. Highly recommended for reluctant readers and kids who are ready for some super hero adventures but not a lot of violence.

Notes on content: No language issues. No sexual content or decency issues. Most of the time the superheroes are fighting alien robots or fantasy creatures that just shut down or dissolve when beaten, and not many punches or things are shown.

Meh... That is the summary of my thoughts on this book. The illustrations and the coloring are the only things that boosts the rating. My only explanation is that I am more of a dog person... ;)

A quirky, unique, humorous, cat adventure book, it is also very entertaining and fun to read. Owners of cats as pets and overall cat lovers would be duly entertained when reading this book. The cat ventures are quite interesting and leave you with a smile on your face. What could be more perfect, than sitting in your cozy corner, reading adventurous exploits by your favorite animal friend, in this amazing comic book with its colorful and delightful illustrations.

After watching so much Paw Patrol with my 3 year old, I was excited to read a comic that I expected to be a similar thing but with CATS! Sadly, this was just really bland and meh. Couldn't finish it.

Hero Cats of Stellar City is great.
The six hero cats use their super powers to help the humans of Stellar City.
I think the comic will appeal mostly to teenagers. It definately belongs on the shelves of my school library.

4 stars.
I LOVED THIS! A graphic novel about CATS!!! This is a MUST read for anyone who loves cats. And not just ordinary cats either, but ones trying to help the world, hero cats. Its totally awsome! We are introduced to 6 cats. Midnight, who is the tough cat but has a soft side and is greving for his humans which he tries to hide. Belle, she is a mind reader. Rocket is known as the crazy one. Rocco is just so big and darn cuddly! Ace is the leader and my favourite cat, Cassiopeia (Cassie for short). She has the BEST superhero power, she can read books! She is also so adorable and sensitive.

This Graphic novel contains a collection of short stories and all of them are really enjoyable. The illustrations are really well done, so vibrant. There are also 2 superheroes that appear throughout the book. They are Galaxy Man and Cosmic Girl (who are really father and daughter). Their Wife/Mother went missing in space, so there is also a bit of science fiction going on. Who could not enjoy this! Well, if you are like me you will just love it. Highly recommend giving this to your child and expecually if they are cat lovers. Although, im 32 and I really enjoyed this so I guess its not only for children, but children at heart.

I loved the idea of superhero cats, so I immediately decided to add this to my reading list. We meet six cats who all have different abilities and who are trying to keep their city as save as possible. I loved the art in this book, it was simple and colourful, and I loved the little stories. I definitely want to know how the story continues and if Cassiopea's owner ever finds his wife back, so I'll be on the lookout for more of these Hero Cats!

Cute little cartoon cats performing superhero antics and saving the day? I mean, I was sold on that synopsis right away, but honestly... this was super boring. I love children's and middle grade books, partially because they tend to be so fun and whimsical, but I felt like this graphic novel took what could have been a perfect plot and just left it at kind of... "meh."
