Very mixed feelings about this book, but the writing did improve a lot from the first one, the plot still needs some work. The cover is stunning which is what drew me to this book. There was also a lot of strong language, which I don't normally have an issue with, but somehow it ticked me...

Socialite. Flapper. Vampire. Beast.
Ruxandra once stalked the woods of Europe as a blood-hungry Beast. Now, eternally eighteen, she’s determined to forget all that, to dance, drink and love her way through Jazz Age New York. Elizabeth Bathory is the only human Ruxandra ever turned - the second of only four vampires in the world. She’s also a psychopath. And when she knocks on Ruxandra’s door, Ruxandra’s carefully constructed world begins to fall apart. Soon Ruxandra is forced to leave her carefree life among humans she loves for the hot streets of Los Angeles, where stars dance in the Cocoanut Club and a vampire isn’t the only thing prowling the night. With each new clue comes new questions, and with each new encounter, Ruxandra comes closer to unleashing the terrible Beast that lives inside her.
This was a pretty good story. I didn’t know there were three other parts but I still enjoyed it. I knew about the real Elizabeth Bathory from hundreds of years ago, which is what drew my attention to it. My goal is to read the other three books the enjoy the entire story. I highly recommend.

Unfortunately, I found the first book to be super problematic. There were unnecessary explicitly sexual themes while having zero plot in the first book and I cannot continue with the series or support this author.

Not my cup of tea but very well written none-the-less. Very in-depth book and very descriptive on characters and settings.

I really enjoyed this book. I love a good dark book. This series was my first read by this author. I had to catch up on the other 3 books before this one. This is book 4 in the series. So it is hard to go into any detail without giving off the rest of books. There are some intense moments in this book but I love that feeling of a good intense read. I am not sure if this series will continue on but I intend on watching this story grow.

I recommend this book if you love a good dark vampire novel.

I had no clue this was a #4 in the series. That being said, I had already started the book and therefore I continued on. I was very impressed with the cover art as well as the writing. The book was a bit darker than what I am used to, however I enjoyed it so much that I plan on picking up the other books in the series.

Also, the time period was a huge plus for me!

I had very mixed feelings about this book and this series honestly. When I first started to read this series i was a bit shocked about the gore and the sexualization of it all and I do believe that has tainted this whole series for me.

Beast of Dracula is the fourth book in the Princess Dracula series. This book opens up with Ruxandra living it up in 1920s New York.when she's rudely interrupted by Elizabeth trying to drag her to Los Angeles to solve some grisly vampire like murders. Needless to say, Elizabeth succeeds and the team featured in the earlier books in the series gets back together to sort through this. This book is just full of violence, torture, and sex. I found that the level of this multiplied by a huge amount from book three. It made the story very repetitive, characters predictable, and there were times when it was just not necessary to the story, making it distracting to a reader. I was actually considering going back to the beginning of the series to learn more about how the relationship evolved between Elizabeth and Ruxandra, but after reading this story, I find I really don't want to know.

Bisexual Princess Ruxandra Dracula's daughter has been dragged away from NYC in 1927 and coerced into finding what is killing humans in California where another Vampire Elizabeth and Dorotyas live. So much blood dripping, splattering, and spilling from those caught in the teeth and talons of the creatures that feed on human blood will send goosebumps over your entire body. Will Ruxandra win the fight or die trying? Has the German Vampire Kade come to help her or someone else?

Well..... I wish I saw that this was book 4 in the series before I read it. It isn't a terrible book but it is definitely not a standalone. I can't give my full opinion on this but I'm sure if I read the series in order, this would be a great book. Vampires are always a fun quick read .

I definitely enjoyed reading this. I've gone and read the other books in the series so I understand what was going on. I liked the characters and the plot.

I enjoyed this book, despite not realizing it is the 4th in a series.I know I'm missing A LOT, which makes me want to go get the first 3 books in the series so much more. I absolutely love paranormal books, esp ones with vampires, werewolves, etc. So this was right up my alley and let me just say it was SOOO intense and thrilling, and AMAziNG. I loved all the characters. AND omg the torture scenes were very intense, and so graphic they were soo good, very very well written.

Ruxandra is enjoying her time in New York, she loves the music and the people.  She is still in control of the beast that lives inside her and she has managed to find happiness in her persona; life.  Then Elizabeth shows up saying that she nust come to LA because there is another vampire who is killing indiscriminately and putting all of them in danger.  She swears that is not one that she or Dorotyas created and insists that she come and help her find it; when she refuses she kills her lover and she knows that Elizabeth will kill anyone she thinks is close to her so she decides to go to get her out of New York.  Before leaving she sends a coded telegram apprising him of the situation and asking if it could be one of his and he replies that it isn't.

Time has not mellowed Elizabeth, if anything she has become worse and seems to also be a glutton as well as a sadistic psychopath.  Despite Elizabeth's attempts she refuses her overtures for more.  She is going to find the vampire, try to help it and if she can't get it to stop she will destroy it, but she is determined that Elizabeth will not get her hands on it.

Once they are in LA, she realizes that both Elizabeth and Dorotyas have gotten worse over the years.  Elizabeth still believes that as a Blood Royal she has the right to do anything to those she considers beneath her.  As she begins searching for the rogue vampire she finds that things are much worse than she thought and someone is trying to make sure that she does not survive.  When Kade arrives, she hopes that he will be an ally bust begins to suspect that he is siding with Elizabeth.

What is happening in LA?  Who is responsible for the mayhem that ensues as the story unfolds and who will survive?

This was another easy read, I read all 4 books in three days.and the ending is left open so there could be more books in the series..  This is a book for adults, there is graphic violence and sexual content.

3/5 STARS:  I received a free digital ARC in exchange for a honest, unbiased review.  I sincerely thank the author and/orpublisher for providing an ARC through Netgalley,.**

Thank you Netgalley and the publisher for the e-galley of this book in exchange for an honest review.

I enjoyed this book, despite not realizing it is the 4th in a series. I do feel there is some back story I am missing but I do intend to buy the others in the series to read now. I love paranormal/vampire stories etc. So this was right up my alley. It was intense and thrilling. I loved the characters, even the antagonists. The graphic torture scenes were very intense and well written. Overall I really enjoyed it and it's refreshing to find a vampire series that doesn't have a lot of fluff and nonsense in it.

If you're into vampires and paranormal romance, this series would be among your to-read list. However, if you add some of the intense and graphic torture that comes with being Dracula and trying to get rid of a killer on the loose, then this is right up your dark alley. I'm glad to have received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review on NetGalley and it's the fourth book so I did break a reader rule and jumped right into the action missing a whole lot of backstory.

This was very interesting story! It is VERY graphic, even horrific. There is torture, mature sexual situations, and a LOT of death. I'm not sure what I was expecting. I expected more sexual scenarios and less torture. I mean the torture was intense and very graphic... just a warning!

The story itself is very good! I loved the characters, even the ones I hated. I hated Elizabeth and Dorotyas because they were evil and reveled in the most despicable situations and I loved Ruxandra for her humanity as a vampire who didn't choose her fate. She's kind and loving and full of life, even as an undead. She battles this monster inside of her constantly and desires to do the least amount of damage even putting herself in pain to relieve someone else's. I really liked her.

Kade was so hard to read, which was the plan I think. Is he good, is he evil, is he just making the most of the gift of eternal life? I found his lack of loyalty frustrating, even though we learn the reason in the end.

I will still give the story 4 stars, but because the lack of steamy sex scenes was forfeited for the ridiculously graphic death and torture scenes keeps me from giving it 5.
