I've been eagerly awaiting this book since I finished book 1 earlier this year. You're probably all bored of hearing this by now, but Rachel remains one of my favourite authors and her books are second to none. I've yet to find a book by her I don't like. Infraction was no exception.

Miller and Kinsey caught my interest in book 1, especially Miller, and their story didn't disappoint. Filled with all of the ups and downs I expect in a Rachel Van Dyken book, these two held my interest for their entire journey. I felt their connection and they definitely had sparks. Of course, being a brother's best friend romance also made it better because I love that trope.

Overall, another great read by Rachel. I say it every time, but it's true; I would highly recommend this book or any book by this author.

Kinsey was hurt when after one night with Miller he encourages her to leave the country. During their separation his actions and non-actions only add to the pain he inflicted. Now she’s returned and if it’s not bad enough that her ex is going to be trying out for the team, her brother, Jax, has decided in order to protect her, Miller and her should pretend to be in a relationship.

Miller has never wanted anyone the way he wants Kinsey. However, there is something holding him back, making him afraid to reach for the prize. He can’t do relationships. He can’t fall in love. He isn’t even sure if he has a heart anymore. But he wants her even if she is his best friend’s sister. And everyone knows that Jax will kill any man that so much as looks at Kinsey with lust in their eyes.

I was a bit nervous going into this one because Miller had been in love with Emerson for so long. I have a hard time with stories where the hero has loved another and in this case, I felt like Miller would never be able to truly get beyond what he felt for Em. I was thrilled to see that that was not the case. Yes, Miller had feelings for her but that was not the root of his issues when it came to his relationship with Kinsey.

As all good pretend boyfriend tropes have, there is scorching chemistry between the two. And of course it becomes more than pretend. But this book was so much more than that or the struggle of dating the best friend’s sister. I digs into familial relationships, friendships and fighting for the right to stand strong. I absolutely loved all the layers this author built into this story. My heart caved when we were introduced to Marco and when we meet him again I sobbed. Such a small amount of the book and yet it was huge.

This book will definitely go down as my most favorite to date by Ms. Van Dyken. Definitely the one you want to read if you’re looking for something stronger than your normal sports rom com.

Infraction by Rachel Van Dyken is a contemporary romance that can be read on it's own even though it is book #2 of the Players Game Series. This is a sports romance based around the Bucks football team. Book 1, Fraternize gave us a taste of the two main characters in Infraction (Kinsey and Miller). These two are set up as a fake couple by Miller's best friend and team mate Jax, who happens to be Kinsey's brother. One less thing for Jax to worry about as the season kicks off, Right?Kinsey was a spitfire in book one so I expected more of that type of character in this book but I feel like somewhere along the way she lost that essence and became someone else. Not in a bad way, just different. Miller was his usual hot/cold self until he finally got his head in the game. Definite humor marked with chokingly emotional moments. (Must have tissues). The secondary characters in this book really pulled it all together. It's another great read and a great addition to this series. Thank you to Netgalley and Skyscape for providing a copy to review. If you enjoyed The Bet by this author, you'll enjoy this one as well.

Infraction is the second book in the ‘Players Game’ series and follows the story between Miller and Kinsey.
I think it’s an absolute MUST that the first book, ‘Fraternize’, be read before you dive into this baby.

Miller broke my heart time and time again in the first book and I desperately wanted him to mend his broken heart, because he deserved it. So I was so excited to read this book.
The friendship that was developing in the previous book comes to halt when these two jump into bed together in a ‘What happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas’ kinda moment.
Nothing stays in Vegas, let’s get real. So when a new team member who so happens to be Kinsey’s ex comes around, it’s decided that the best thing to do is fake a relationship between to ward him off.
Plans never go how they’re supposed to - real feelings quickly start to develop with more intensity than before along with very real doubts and insecurities.

Matters aren’t getting better with the constant fear of being caught by Kinsey’s overprotective older brother, Jax, who is also Miller’s close friend and teammate.

I enjoyed the connection between Miller and Kinsey - it was sweet and sizzling. I loved how Miller was there for Kinsey, and once he realizes the error of his ways, doesn’t accept it when she shuts down and pushes him away. He was determined, and it was all kinds of swoony.

The secrets between them were revealed, but not from the right people - each other.
I understand it was for the dramatic aspect, but it did bother me a bit.

I just wish there wasn’t Jax’s POV thrown in this story. It was like an annoying commercial break that hurt the flow of this book and had me losing interest.

The writing was enjoyable - it was emotional, sweet and heartwarming. It just lacked consistency.

So much love for this book! I started off feeling luke-warm about this book. I wasn't sure if I was going to vibe with it or if it was going to really connect but by the last couple chapters I had tears in my eyes. Typical Rachel Van Dyken, hook-line-sinker. I honestly don't know why I had any doubts. Infraction is a sizzling hot romance that had me swooning, sobbing, and sighing. Rachel artfully crafts real characters with tangible emotions.

While the plot was somewhat predictable, it didn't take away from the story. I adored that this is a 2-for-1 story where you get Kinsey and Jax both getting their own HEAs. Em and Sanchez are back and up to the same shenanigans we saw in Fraternize. There is also a filter-free Grandma who had me hooting and hollering the second she appeared on the page (for more hilarious Grandmas...see The Bet Series by Rachel Van Dyken).

I was torn with my love of Jax, I would have liked more time for his relationship to develop but I am happy that Rachel acknowledged openly in the story that it happened fast. Miller and Kinsey had hilarious banter blended with touching moments that had my heart yearning. The tenderness of Miller had me wanting to cuddle up to him and never let go. My hands-down favorite moments though are when Sanchez, Miller, and Jax are together. The bromance is alive, well, and funny. What can I say other than that it was just a good read.

Quinton Miller’s family is his team, and he will do anything to help them. When Jax needs him to pretend-date his sister, Miller doesn’t hesitate to step up. But it won’t be as easy as it sounds to fake date Kinsey, since they did so much more than kiss several months before.

I loved the banter and wit that Kinsey and Miller had even before they started fake dating. These two are just plain comfortable with each other. They enjoy each others’ company and find more sparks the longer they stay together.

Knowing Jax is so protective of Kinsey, I knew this would be entertaining, but I wasn’t expecting the reasons behind his sheltering ways. This story went deeper than I expected, especially as a new player joins the team, stirring up on field stress, and Kinsey’s family faces challenges she hadn’t seen coming.

This is such a fun group of characters because there are so many threads between all of them. Kinsey and Emerson are best friends. Emerson and Miller are also best friends. Kinsey and Jax are siblings. There are so many combinations here that there is always someone willing to throw a person under the bus in the most entertaining of ways.

This was a fun read that picked up Miller and Kinsey’s story (that though not a main line from Fraternize, wasn’t a stretch as Miller worked to get over the disappointment of losing Emerson). I ended up liking this slightly more than Fraternize, mostly because it didn’t involve a triangle.

Sadly, this book was big disappointment for me.
I absolutely LOVED the Ruin Series, so my expectations were very high.

I never connected with Miller nor Kinsey, they felt very childish to me, it was like reading a YA romance with hints of mature content.

I really, really struggled from the first chapters, and it got worse, to the point the book ended being y first DNF in a long time…
It’s really frustrating, because I expected so much more from this author….

What. A. Ride.

I pretty much went in blind when it came to this story. I have read “Fraternize” and I couldn’t wait to read about Miller after loving him in the first book. This book was not what I expected at all. I got such an emotional story that discussed so many issues. I had a close friend who sadly passed away from Cancer and this book hit very close to home.

Miller and Kinsey have both suffered from some tough times and I love how they were able to let their guards down and help each other heal. It was a beautiful thing to read and I love Miller even more after reading this book.

We also get Jax’s point of view in this story and I hope this leads to another book featuring him and his journey. This was such a well written book that took me on an emotional read. I highly recommend this book and series to all my book friends!

Ok I’m gunna be honest and say this one started out a little slow for me but once it got going, wow I actually ended up completely loving it!

Kinsley and Miller were both so jaded from past relationships that their relationship got off to one hell of a rocky start but their story was a beautiful one of love, loss, learning to grieve and mourn losses and opening your heart when you’re afraid. I laughed and cried along with them, such a beautiful story, and I’m glad Miller got his happy ending.

Miller and Kinsey are forced to fake date by her brother. Miller can't say no to his best friend Jax and wants to do his best for his team. Kinsey and Miller are adorable together Chicken and Waffle. Great plot with twist and get to see old characters and meet some new ones.

Man can RVD write a book that will give you all the feels. She had me laughing and crying within a few pages. The emotional rollercoaster is classic RVD, it just makes it sooo good. I would love to see Jax and Hartley get their own book.

Infraction is book two in the Players Game series by Rachel Van Dyken. I fell madly in love with the first book in this series, Fraternize so I was sure that I couldn’t love this second book as much. Well, I was wrong. I might even love it more. This series is amazing. Infraction is the perfect blend of laugh out loud funny and hug your teddy bear heart breaking. You will not only get Miller and Kinsey’s story, but also Jax and Harley’s story at the same time. Plus, getting updates on Sanchez and Emerson from the first book. What more could you ask for?

Quinton Miller plays tight end for the Bellevue Bucks football team. We knew something was brewing between he and Kinsey Romonov in the previous book and we know something happened between them at the end of that book. Well, now, its seven months later. Kinsey has been out of the country at the insistence of her brother, Jax, and also Miller. But now she’s back. Miller has done his best to avoid her since she came back but when Jax asks him to be his sister’s fake boyfriend to help to keep a crazy ex of Kinsey’s away from her, they are again thrown together. And even if he is supposed to be faking his feelings for her, the feelings he is having are anything but fake.

As Kinsey and Jax’s father gets increasingly ill, the bonds between both Kinsey and Miller, and Jax and Harley, strengthen. There are so many laugh out loud moments in this book. I fell completely in love with Kinsey and Jax’s family. They were crazy and hilarious and so full of love for one another it made my throat ache. But don’t get me wrong, there are also plenty of heart breaking moments as secrets from the past are revealed, and as their father worsens. I feel like I watched Miller literally grow up in this book. He had events from his past crippling him emotionally. But Kinsey made him want more, to take the risk and give her his heart in hopes that she would give him hers as well.

“I had beautiful women surrounding me on a daily basis, but for some reason, this one, this off-limits little firecracker – had me. And I was powerless.”

I fell in love with Quinton Miller in the first book of this series and didn’t think it was possible to love him more but I was wrong. This man melted me into a puddle of goo. I loved he and Kinsey together. And Jax with all his over the top protectiveness was still perfect. Add in heaps of hilarity from Sanchez. I don’t remember him being so hilarious. This series is a must read. I loved both books with all my heart. There is a scene towards the end of this book that made my eyes leak. I’m not saying what it was, you’ll know when you get there. I hope you get a chance to give this series a go. I can’t say enough how much I loved them.

I absolutely love Rachel Van Dyken and her quirky fun characters. This book picks up with the previous book in the series, Fraternize, left off. This is definitely part of a series and I highly recommend reading the previous book first. Miller is instantly the protagonist of the story, having been previously rooting somewhat for him in the previous book, it's easy to want this sexy football player to find his HEA. The chemistry between Miller and Kinsey is undeniable. There is an element of forbidden romance due to Kinsey's overprotective family and Miller risking the relationship with his teammate by being with her. You don't need to be a football fan to enjoy this story or this series and as always Van Dyken hits it out of the park with this one.

Rachel Van Dyken is the QUEEN! Infraction had me ridiculously laughing in public one minute and sobbing uncontrollably underneath my blankets the very next. Holy shit...I was not expecting this novel to tug at all of my heart-strings!

Infraction is book 2 in the Players Game series, this is also a companion novel so it can totally be read as a standalone. I however am intrigued and plan on grabbing up the first book (Fraternize). This novel is also told in three different point of views which I found interesting and eye-opening. Of course there are Miller and Kinsey's pov's but we also have Jax's point of view! I loved getting an insight into Jax's thoughts! This made the emotional concept of the story that much more stronger.

This is Miller and Kinsey's story and holy shit is their story one hell of a ride. This couple seriously have every single obstacle thrown in their faces throughout this novel.

Miller is in some deep shit...you see a few months prior he sort of found himself having a one night stand with his best friends little sister. What's worse than that though is the fact that Kinsey's brother is super alpha and over protective of his little sister and threatened to kill any football player that overstepped the line where Kinsey is concerned. So Miller does the one thing he can think of after his traitorous heart starts to get involved. He helps pack Kinsey's stuff and all but sends her to Europe.

Now Kinsey is back and she has an even bigger chip on her shoulder and an asshole of an ex boyfriend that doesn't understand what the word no means. Jax (Kinsey's brother) comes up with a plan that involves Miller, Kinsey, and a fake relationship. It's a great idea, until feeling start to get in the way...yet again.

Infraction has, not only, a strong forbidden vibe but also a strong Mystery vibe to the story. Kinsey is hiding a major secret from her friends. A secret that only her family knows about. Throughout the novel I was literally guessing everything under the sun and moon. I WAS BLOWN AWAY!

I highly recommend Infraction to all sports romance lovers!

Miller and Kinsey have a rough start. With Kinsey's brother a vocal reminder of why they can't have a relationship, they spend a lot of time avoiding what they really want. But with their friendship comes the undeniable existence of their need for each other.

This was a good read! Full of the heartbreak that life throws at you and the true reality of finding people you can lean on to help you through the worst of it all.

I admit, I was really disappointed Miller didn't get the girl in the first book. How does first love not conquer all? I still don't see the connection between Em and Sanchez besides the sexual one. Anyway, back to Miller and Kinsey. I loved Miller in Fraternize. Like I said, I was/am Team Miller. But I didn't fall in love with him like I did in the first book. Kinsey is portrayed as a brave, strong firecracker. But I saw her as weak, immature and needed someone to protect her. Then there's Kin's older brother Jax. Sure he has a hero complex but there's definitely something wrong with him. The sibling relationship was awkward and uncomfortable to read, even after finding out why he was so protective of her.

The story was ok. There were some funny moments. But I'm not a fan of this writing style. Not. At. All. Also, I think the author could have gone a little deeper with Kinsey and Anderson's relationship.

I totally fell in love with Miller in Fraternize so I was stoked when i saw he was getting his own book. And what a book it is! It's funny, sexy and oh gosh Miller is hot. With a broken heart Miller does the one thing he shouldn't.... sleep with his best friends sister. Not only is she off limits but he can't seem to get her off his mind. When he is asked to go into a fake relationship with her, he knows this will only end one way.
Miller and Kinsey are both wonderful characters and their story will pull at your heart. The author did a great job bringing us a truly great read. You don't have to read Fraternize first cause this is a standalone but i do recommend doing so. This is a great series and I am so hoping that next the author gives us more Harley and Jax. Those two..... Boom!

Infraction is a good book full of secrets, steamy romance, and football players! I love how Infraction picks right up after Fraternize left off. It gives us more from that ending Vegas scene along with its aftermath...

I had LOVED Fraternize and placed it in my Top Reads of 2017, but Infraction was just not in the same caliber. It is still a good story and kept me devouring it cover to cover, but its just no Fraternize.

If you love a good Football Romance and devoured Fraternize, pick up Infraction STAT!

Infraction by Rachel Van Dyken is not your run of the mill football story. Oh no it isn't. And while you don't really need to read Fraternize first in order to enjoy this book, I do believe you would enjoy this more with all the background into Miller and why he is so fearful of having a close connection to anyone, much less Kinsey.

Miller and Kinsey have one night together before she is sent overseas for a few months in the football offseason by Jax, her brother and Miller. There is so much more to the why she was sent away and holy heck is there alot more to Kinsey's story than meets the eye. She is wary of football players for good reason and her overprotective brother (hey he locked her in a closet so she couldn't go to prom) doesn't want her anywhere near his teammates...in a romantic way at least. Miller and Kinsey "fake-date" in order to keep her off someone else's radar and that's when the sparks really start to fly.

These two are combustible whenever they are together and you feel it even without the "overt" steam that usually shows this kind of connection. There were so many moments that made me laugh out loud, especially Jax's chapters because he is so straightlaced in the first book and seeing him come alive and become "human" is a beautiful thing. My gym-mates will attest to the quick changes between laughter and tears because yes....I ugly cried...more than once while reading this book.

Yes, it is more than football and cheerleading...it is more than two people lusting after one another. It is truly about the love of family whatever way that family dynamic is like, whether blood or team, you come together for those you love. Will Miller and Kinsey have their happily ever after? Does Jax finally let go and let love? So much to love about this story!
