I love dual timeline stories, but I was a little nervous about there being three timelines. No need to worry though - Cambron is a master story teller, and writer. Not once did I feel like I was out of place, I was missing something, or I was totally lost. How she managed to change between time periods so seamlessly is really beyond me, but she did so beautifully. The Lost Castle is a stunning read that should be on everyone's shelf.

I received a complimentary copy of this novel and was not required to write a favorable review. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

I was very intrigued with the story especially being set in the past and the historical tidbits that were thrown in. This is an amazing read, and I definitely recommend it!

An interesting historical fiction novel with three different timelines. The contemporary timeline was not as good as the French Revolution or WWII timeline unfortunately but I still enjoyed the book.

I enjoyed this book very much. I think I enjoyed the second (Lady Vi's story) and the third (Ellie's story) timelines the best as I tend to connect to WWII timelines the best. I was having a hard time connecting the first timeline (Aveline's story) to the rest of the storylines. I did like the connection Aveline had with Robert and how he saw her from the inside, not what she looked like on the outside. So for that aspect, I did line the first storyline.

Thank you for this advanced reader copy. I am sorry it has taken me so long to read and review. I am anxious to begin the rest of the trilogy. I rate this 4 stars, just because I did not relate as much to the first storyline.

Fascinating novel about a family’s history! The novel is set throughout three different time periods. It’s set in France and in the United States. There are love stories and secrets throughout. And what brings it all together is a family heirloom that was in the beginning and later it leads the family to dig into the past to find out what happened back then.

LOVED this story. Three women separated by years, but connected by a French castle and vineyard.

I received an eARC from the publisher. Here is my honest review.

I really enjoyed this book. A triple timeline could be difficult to keep track of but I didn't struggle with staying with each story. In looking at poverty, war, aging, and love, this book touches lightly on them. The author could have delved deeper; but I wasn't disappointed by the light approach. The story felt like you were hearing about family history, so it that made sense.

There is quite a bit of insta-love. It seems unbelievable and yet, seems to be based on daily interactions, which we are not privy to as we touch in with each character at different points of time. (shrug) It's a book, with love as the central theme; thankfully, it wasn't cheesy insta-love.

I did feel like there was one of the most romantic proposals I've ever read in a book in the modern timeline. While I enjoy a good romance, I don't consider myself to be a "swooner"...but that one, I think I swooned, just a little.

A beautiful book told in three alternating timelines between the present and two different times in the past. Kristy Cambron does a great job of weaving together the various storylines and keeping all of them interesting. Though, I admit my favorite was Violet and 1944, and sometimes I was disappointed when I was thrust out into another time. Still, setting and story are vibrant and alive in thi challenging but rewarding read.

In her book, The Lost Castle, Kristy Cambron tells the story of Ellie Carver who is losing her Grandmother to Alzheimer’s. But before her beloved grandmother’s memories fade completely, Ellie is tasked with uncovering the secrets of her family’s past even if it takes her to France. Will her journey be successful or will time obscure all clues and histories remain buried?

The Lost Castle is a masterpiece of historical fiction. The novel covers four periods of history from the French Revolution to the present day. The majority of the plot takes place in France where each of the storylines is complex and interwoven seamlessly with each other. The characters are genuine, empathetic, and believable, and the narrative itself is full of surprises. Cambron’s writing is exquisite and vivid, immersing the reader without over-playing the romantic angle.

Kristy Cambron should be commended for The Lost Castle, and more Historical Fiction should emulate it. I highly recommend it.

Lost Castle by Kristy Cambron is the story of a young woman in search of her origins. It takes you on a ride to her history through French Revolution, and WWI. Even though it felt too dragged at times, the premise and the way the story weaves through 3 generations was art fully described.

If you love history and finding yourself in the past of one of your ancestors, The Lost Castle will take you on a ride that has a young woman exploring her origins on the stories of a dying grandma. From the French Revolution to WWI, this is a wonderfully researched book that is perfect for the lovers of historical romances. It is also great for those just bridging over to the genre,

**thanks to the publishers for the honor of reviewing this amazing book. My opinions are my own**

3 generations, 3 women, 1 castle and what it means to them. This is a multi generation story that ties all corners together.
I liked the premise but overall in parts I lost interest or the story was little slow. But over all a good read , one that you need to take time out to read. I did not feel it is a light weekend read, which was my initial impression from the title and blurb. 3 stars for the plot and strong female protagonists.

I absolutely adored this book. It weaved a story that was connected over three different timelines and yet drew them together so beautifully. After being pulled in it was so hard to tear myself away to go about daily life and even now I have the stories circling my head. Amazing.

Would you believe the fantastical story of a grandparent who is dying? Maybe if you have always had a pull at the fantasy. Determined to fulfill her grandmothers wish, Ellie sets out on an UN-imagineable trip. Trouble seems to be keeping her from fulfilling her wish, but her guide just might be the ticket she needs. Will he work with her or will he let her down? Great Read.

Oh, my heart. I’m still finding that I’m completely speechless over this book. But I’ll do my best to make at least some sense of my thoughts, here.

If I had to sum The Lost Castle up in one word, it would be beautiful. Absolutely and utterly beautiful. Between the author’s masterful writing and storytelling, the rich and delightful characters we have the pleasure of getting to know, and the breathtaking setting and scenery, this book had me feeling all the things, and completely wrapped around it’s finger. In fact, I’m still in awe of how perfectly and flawlessly the three different main characters intricate timelines and stories were woven together. I’m keeping my lips sealed on anything else to do with the story itself, because I truly feel this is a story you just need to experience without knowing all that much about.

Now, without ramdbling on any further in my gushing ways, I’ll say this. THE LOST CASTLE has absolutely earned a spot on my all-time favorite books list, and I cannot encourage fans of historical fiction enough to give this beauty a read!

I beyond excited to see what Kristy Cameron has in store for us in the next book of this series, CASTLE ON THE RISE, coming out in February 2019.

Thank you so very much to NetGalley and Thomas Nelson for kindly providing me with this free review e-copy!

This was the first time in which I came upon Kristy Cambron. I found this novel to be a dual timeline novel that shifts from WWII to present day. It is more of a family saga. Both protagonists go through many challenges and obstacles. There were some parts that I thought were slow and some scenes that were unnecessary. Still, it is full of romance with fairy tales as an allegory. I highly recommend this novel for fans of Chateau of Secrets, The Secret Keeper, and The Alice Network!

The Lost Castle was an interesting novel with a truly unique unfolding in its storytelling. The novel covers three different time periods and alternates between the three. The first is present day as Ellie Carver travels to rural France to discover the man her grandmother first loved. The second perspective is during WW2 in the same area of France where Violet (Ellie's grandmother) finds herself helping the French Resistance from the ruins of an old castle. The final intertwined perspective is during the French Revolution where the first love story plays out in the same castle. At first I had trouble connecting to all the storylines as the book kept jumping from one story to another. However, as the stories played out, I was caught up in the dangers of the two past time periods and their connections to one another. I fell in love with the area described and was drawn into the emotions of each period. I was brought to tears by Vi's story as Ellie discovered the truth of her grandmother's past, and I rejoiced with members of the original story of the castle. Once I got past the initial confusion in the plot, I highly enjoyed this novel and the interconnections between the castle's rich history. I would highly recommend this novel.

I received this novel from Thomas Nelson through Netgalley in exchange for an honest review. All words and thoughts are my own.

The Lost Castle is the first book I've read by Kristy Cambron, but I have been wanting to read her books for a while now. This story was amazingly well-written. It is set during three alternating time periods - the French Revolution, World War II, and present day. While all three were great storylines, my favorite was the one set during WWII. I loved how all the stories connected and you get to see how at the end of the book.

It was a beautiful story and definitely held my interest. It did take a few chapters to get used to the alternating storylines, but once I got partway done it was a breeze to read and I didn't want it to end. I loved all the characters. The present day romance was a favorite and I loved the ending.

All in all, The Lost Castle was a great read and I recommend it to fans of historical and/or contemporary romances, as you kind of get both with this story. I'm looking forward to the next book!

More a 3 1/2 stars title, this was a sweet story of the lives of three different women who find importance in the same castle.

I read a pre-release e-book version of this book from NetGalley, thank you! As it is, I'd give this title a 3 1/2 stars, with the potential for four stars if edited a bit more. I loved the premise, and how the story lines all coalesced over the same fixed geographical point - the Sleeping Beauty castle - but the stories didn't always relate to each other as much as I would have expected. The time shifts were not always easy to follow, especially within each time period. It might have been easier with a print copy of the book to look back at which month/year already revealed things happened so that I could follow it more easily, but as it was I felt a bit jerked around. Two women's (current day and WWII ) lives intersected more obviously, as grandmother and granddaughter, but I'm not sure how Aveline's story (of the French revolution time period) related to theirs. It seemed more removed, just an interesting and enjoyable historical documenting of how the castle came to be important. Perhaps that was the point. I sometimes wondered if/how any of the details of her account made it to the later characters' awareness. I appreciated that each protagonist had her own strength of character, sometimes which went against the expectations of the day.

But overall, this was a fun, thought provoking book. Sweet story.
