This story focuses on Hayley and Sam, who have both been through some tough times. They met and became a holiday romance but inevitably the holiday ends. Then what should happen, they start working together in the same hospital. Which to say the least leads to some interesting encounters. This story starts with two tragic events buts ends up with a Happy Ending.
This story is full to the brim with lots of medical knowledge, but it isn't too much. It was just enough to get this reader googling the different terms. This book also has a sister story based around Hayley's friend Dani.I found myself immediately buying this book when I finished.

An emotionally-charged, engrossing and wonderfully romantic read about learning to trust, second chances and healing from old wounds, Christmas with Her Daredevil Doc is another first-rate winner from multi award-winning author Kate Hardy.

Dr Hayley Clark was looking forward to going on holiday to Iceland with her best friend Danielle and fulfilling her lifelong dream of seeing the Northern Lights. But when her sports-mad friend injures her leg and is unable to travel, Hayley ends up visiting Iceland alone. However, little did Hayley realise when she set out on her solo adventure that she was going to end up getting swept off her feet by the charming, charismatic and handsome daredevil Sam Price, who is in Iceland helping his brother out.

Sam is also a medical professional who had adored his job. But when an unfortunate accident at work had seen him wonder whether he would ever practice medicine again, Sam had realised that he needed some time out and some much-needed rest and recuperation to figure out what he was going to do next. With his relationship with the woman he thought he was going to be spending the rest of his life with coming to an end at the same time his career was on the line, Sam had headed to Iceland and vowed never to put his heart on the line ever again. His plan was working perfectly until he had found himself bowled over by Hayley…

A passionate no-strings affair quickly ensued and when Hayley heads back to England, she thinks that she will never see Sam again – until she turns up at work and finds out that Sam is her new colleague! When their resolve to keep their relationship strictly professional goes out the window, Hayley and Sam quickly realise that they are falling madly in love with one another. But how can they possibly contemplate a future together when there are so many obstacles standing in their way?

After her firefighter fiance had died on the job, Hayley had vowed never to get involved with anyone who put himself in danger ever again. But with his penchant for extreme sports, Sam is as far removed from her idea of a perfect partner as it is possible to get. However, will her fear end up costing her her final chance of happiness?

Kate Hardy’s books are always exceptional and Christmas with Her Daredevil Doc is another keeper I devoured in a single sitting. Heartfelt, dramatic, believable and wonderfully emotional, Christmas with Her Daredevil Doc is a spellbinding romantic read with a terrific heroine, a lovely hero, pulse-racing medical detail, intense drama and uplifting romance.

A first-class read from a writer who never disappoints, Christmas with Her Daredevil Doc is must-read for Kate Hardy!

This book grips you from the start. Within a few pages you are cheering for the heroine even before she meets the hero. It's very much a book that starts with despair then leads to powerful emotions and love. A sweet medical romance. Perhaps not the best from this author but an engaging read. My thanks to Mills and Boon and Net Galley for my advance copy in exchange for an honest review.

Kate Hardy has an incredible skill with setting the scene! The descriptions of Iceland were fantastic and really put the reader there.

It's during a 'say yes to everything' trip that Hayley meets Sam, a fellow Dr who is also on a whale watching trip and has to assist during an emergency. A holiday fling could be exactly what Hayley needs, especially after mourning the loss of her partner. But she wasn't expecting to see Sam again so soon, and not in her emergency department.

Avoiding a work romance at first, the pair can't hide their attraction to each other. But then Hayley realises how much of a daredevil Sam is and fears falling for someone who puts their life in danger. Having lost her partner who put his life at risk and lost it, Hayley isn't sure she can go there again.

There's a heap of emotion in this book. From Hayley's fears and loss, down to the patients they have to save too. At one point I could almost feel one of the procedures as it happened! I was expecting a bit more conflict towards the end, however, the ending is incredibly satisfying and also sets up the intrigue behind what I assume to be the next protagonists story.

Incredible scene setting and wonderful writing from Kate Hardy!

This is a fantastic read & beautiful story. From the very first page the heroine, Hayley, grabs your interest and attention. The characters are well rounded, well written and the story flows well from start to finish. It is a story that embodies how you should grab life & live every day to the full.

What I really liked about this book is the fact that the hero and heroine actually communicate! So many books have plots which are spun out by deliberate misunderstandings created solely to fill more pages, but in this story the characters are refreshingly honest with each other and so their battles to overcome their issues are realistic and interesting. That said, at times the style of writing is a little clunky (did we really need to know the full name of the registrar?) and not up to the usual standard I expect from this author.

Review: Christmas With Her Daredevil Doc – Kate Hardy

This is the first M&B I’ve read in a while, so I was looking forward to diving back in to the romantic world that the imprint represents.
Unfortunately, I was a little disappointed with my first choice, Christmas With Her Daredevil Doc by Kate Hardy. Unlike many I have read, including in the ‘Medical’ series, this book felt a little awkward and naïve. There was an awful lot of tell, not show which made it hard to engage with the characters, and it felt a bit just like it was ‘this happened, then this happened, and then this.’ I didn’t get their emotions coming through, apart from when we were told (repeatedly, that Hayley felt guilty). There did seem to be quite a lot of repetition like this throughout the book. The idea is that this is the year of saying yes for the female characters, which is what leads to the heroine meeting the hero – but I lost count of how many times we were told this! It’s only a short book so I think perhaps some of these reminders could have been edited out as it started to grate after a while.
My other issues were similar to those mentioned in another review. Even though this is a Medical M&B, the details in certain situations were too much, and could cause the reader to switch off. Giving us an idea of things is great, and this is what I have experienced in other reads, but this book was too detailed in the medical aspect for me. Even when the two women are chatting about one of them damaging her foot, it’s very detailed, and sounds unrealistic. In passing, I think it’s more likely to be referred to as a broken foot, rather than the specific metatarsals.
I was also in agreement with another reviewer about the ‘travelogue’ aspect. Obviously the author has been to Iceland and I love books set in interesting places, but the references didn’t really give us a feel for the place. It felt a bit like a guide book, even when the characters were talking. As with the emotional aspect mentioned above, I didn’t feel like I was transported there. I was just told about it when I wanted to feel it.

*I received an ARC for an unbiased view

Hayley lost her fiance a year ago. She has been dealing with the loss with the support of her best friend Dani. Together they have made a pact that going forward they will say ‘yes’ to any decisions/choices they have to make. Based on this, when Dani has to pull out of their holiday to Iceland, Hayley goes on her own, where she meets James. James is taking a sabbatical between jobs and is currently working for his brother in Iceland. The chemistry between them is there from the beginning and they decide to embark on a holiday affair.

James starts his new job in London, which happens to be at the same hospital and department that Hayley works.

James is a bit of a daredevil which Hayley finds difficult to accept after losing her fiancee. James has his own baggage as his fiancee broke off their engagement as she didn’t accept him for the person he is. The story tackles the emotions that they both must overcome in order to make a futile together.

I adored this book, couldn't put it down. Our heroine and hero were so deserving of a happy ending.
Hayley has known tragedy when her fiance was killed in an accident. In order to help her move on, she has embarked on a year of saying yes. Hayley was meant to be going on holiday with her friend, but when her friend breaks a bone, she ends up going on her own. While on a whale watching tour she meets Sam. As part of the year of saying yes, she throws herself into having a holiday romance. The attraction is strong between them, at the end of the trip they part ways. Not ever expecting to see each other again. Fortunately fate has a different idea. I loved the romance between these two, when Sam realised why Hayley was so against his dare devil side, he was so thoughtful of her views. I was cheering them on to a happy ending. I would like to thank Net Galley and Mills & Boon for an ARC.
Highly recommended.

Naughtiness 2*

Fantastic read, utterly loved this book very much indeed and could not put it down literally read it in one go.

As always I will not give spoilers, what I will do is tell you that this book grips you very early onto the point where within a few pages your rooting for the heroine already before she meets our hero. It's very much a book that starts with dispar the leads to love the most powerful emotion of all.

After all Love is the best medicine our hero and heroine most definitely are an exam of this.

Thank you so very much Kate for writing it and Mills and Boon Insiders for offering it for an honest review
