I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

This story follows a young adult as she navigates trying to pave a better path for herself, and works towards overcoming adversity while attempting love.

While this story is sweet, there are many predictable moments although they do not detract from the story. While the reader gets to know Kate and her new love interest Eric, I wish that there was more to their relationship. Their personalities really complement each other, and I wish I got to know them better as a couple. While this read left me wanting more of 'them' there is a good deal of getting to know both Kate and Eric separately, which makes this a not so typical love story.

If you are looking for a HEA, this book doesn't have the typical HEA that many may be used to but it is a sweet read, despite wanting more.

Leaving Kate was a very different book. It did not have a strong female lead, but it did have a very realistic plot. Kate had a bunch of weaknesses and made a lot of bad decisions. In the end you have a journey of growth and hard decision that Kate goes through and you feel the support of her "boyfriend" Eric. It is nice that he does leave her and allows her to grow and become her own stronger self.

I received an advance reader copy in exchange for a fair review.

Well written. A bit too short for my liking. I expected more depth.
