A beautiful children's book about a penguin who has lost his dad and meets all the Antarctic animals along the way, whilst looking for him and constantly asking 'Are You My Dad?'

Lovely illustrations to accompany the story too.

I did not finish - I have tried reading this book on multiple occasions and just could not get into it.

This is a sweet book about a baby penguin looking for his dad. I love the way there's a lot of information crammed into the story without it standing out and interrupting the story. The one thing that bothered me was that all the animals were named correctly, but the human was defined by a cute name. It seemed out of place.

This book was a rip-off of “Are You My Mother?” by P.D. Eastman, with a penguin instead of a bird from a warmer climate. It may have not had the same wording, but the idea was exactly the same.

This was adorable. I loved that each character she met gave information about themselves. Children learning as they follow the journey. I learned about Antarctic animals and loved the pictures. I can see using this in storytimes.

Are You My Dad? by Leslie Kelley was a story very reminiscent of "Are You My Mother?" by Dr. Seuss. A penguin egg hatches after rolling down the hill off of the Daddy's penguins feet. He then began a trek around the polar turf to find his Dad. He is introduced to many polar animals and a strange photographer. There is always a happy ending in picture books and I enjoyed the journey the baby penguin went on. I thought it would a be great story for introducing the polar habitat and region or an introduction to animals, eggs, habits, etc. It was a sweet story with lots of learning opportunities.

Are You My Dad? Is the story of a penguin who hatches out of her egg but then doesn't know where her Dad is, so she goes off to find him! Every animal she sees along the way she asks, "Are you my Dad?" All of the animals tell them how they are similar to her Dad, but not her Dad. Finally, she is reunited with her Dad and all is well.

A really cute book, similar to "Are you my Mother?" which I read a lot as a kid!

I received a free e-copy of this book in order to write this review, I was not otherwise compensated.

In the modern day of children growing up in homes of a very different variety than existed in 1960, it's about time that a new book was created that somewhat coincides with, while differing from, ARE YOU MY MOTHER? by Dr. Seuss. This is the book for just that. Am absolutely buying it for a few of the dads on my list.

Sweet story of a penguin chick hatching only to realize his father is missing. He seeks his father out, but all the animals he meets are not his father. Will he know his father if he finds him?

This adorable children's book has cute illustrations and should appeal to the preschool age child.

When little penguin's egg rolls down a hill as she is hatching, she finds herself alone and begins to search for her dad. She asks each animal she encounters in the arctic landscape if they are her dad. The albatross is not her dad, he can fly while her father cannot. The orca tells her that he is much larger than her dad. She realizes that the clicker is not her dad either. With a similar feel to the book Are You My Mother?, this book is sure to entertain and educate children and parents alike. The illustrations are very cute!

Baby penguin has rolled down a hill and hatched away from his father. Now he is on a mission to find dad. Dad lives on land, can swim, is tall, and does not clack. This is a tough list to find. But baby penguin can do it. This book is a simple story of trying to find home.

This delightful book with its adorable main character is a delight to read and to share.

A baby Empire Penguin chick after wiggling and twisting herself rolls her egg right off of her dad's feet and down a small hill! The wind picks her up and pushes her egg and it rolls down a BIG hill. Pop!! Out she comes ...

"Where is my dad?" she asked. She looked left. She peered right. She glanced behind and gazed in front...
"My dad is lost!" she cried. "I must go find him," and away she went.

She slips, slides, and waddles along encountering an albatross, an orca, and an elephant seal, just to name a few. Each time she asks them the same question... "Are you my dad?" Sadly they have to answer no.

"My dad is very lost. Where can he be?!" she worried and began to
waddle faster..."

She discovers a strange thing climbing out of the sea. Something that knows how to swim and has flippers but does not know how to fly.

"Dad? Dad? DAD! I found you! she squealed.

The stranger stops, lifts an object to his face and starts clicking his camera madly. Realizing it is not her dad but a "clicker" (her sweet word ) she slides quickly away.

Will the poor little chick ever get reunited with her beloved dad? With brute determination and a never-give-up-spirit (my words), she finally experiences success and it's hard to tell which penguin is happier for their reunion. Dad snuggles in his precious baby girl and holds on to her ever so tight. He has a HUGE contented smile on his face and in his heart too I'm sure.

The illustrations are cartoonish, kid-friendly and extremely heartwarming. I know that kids will love the story and will learn some names and characteristics of animals residing in Antarctica. I love the book and highly recommend it.

Bit of a stretch, but sweet! I think small ones would love this story of a lost baby penguin finding it's dad! Illustrations were really nice, too!

In this book, a penguin egg rolls off his father's feet and the baby hatches alone. He spends the rest of the book looking for his dad. He meets many animals that live in the Antarctic and learns a bit about them. They have things in common with his father, but none of them are his dad. When he runs off scared of the "clicker" who happens to be a human, he ends up back home and cuddles up with his dad who has been missing him. Cute illustrations accompany this story. It would be fun to read along with the story "Are you my mother?" and compare the two.

A cute book about a baby penguin that loses her father and looks everywhere to find him. An albatross, a seal, even a person, all have something in common with her Dad but none of them really are! Will she ever find her Dad?
