An Eye for an eye by Jocelyn Pedersen..
The Izzy O Crime Files.
Rookie detective Izzy O’Donnell is on the trail of a serial killer who’s murdering victims and leaving behind body parts wrapped in Bible verses.  Izzy tracks him down with the help of her two partners—a very enigmatic Moreno and a rather grumpy Cal—her injured dad’s former partner.
Really good read. Edgy and fast paced. Loved Izzy. I hope there is more to come. 4*.

I couldn’t stop laughing at her and her crew at some points in the book! I loved the characterization and thought the mystery was great too. I loved the suspense and I would definitely recommend this book to all!

Meet Detective Izzy O'Donnell. She's a rookie. One of her partners is the old partner of her father, now retired. She and her dad own a bar, so along with her best friend Apple, she's also taking care of the bar when she's not out detecting. And oh! I forgot to mention Norman, Apples's sometimes telepathic rabbit. And speaking of psychic ... Izzy herself experiences moments of visions.

Their current case is someone who is killing women ... cleansing their sins. The offending body parts are wrapped in paper filled with bible verses.

There may not be many clues, but there are a few suspects who all seem to have secrets.

This is a terrific story. Izzy is a great character. She's determined to prove that she is where she belongs even though her new partners give her a rough row to hoe. She's got such a great sense of humor ... I couldn't help but laugh at some of her antics ...especially when she's trying to be serious. Her partners are great.. they each have a soft spot for her... but they also want her to be a great detective.

The mystery is very good .. well written and thought out. The characters are fine tuned .. I think Izzy is going to stay with me for a long time. I look forward to her next adventure...whatever that may be.

Many thanks to the author / The Wild Rose Press, Inc / Netgalley for the advance digital copy of this crime thriller. Opinions expressed here are unsolicited, unbiased, and entirely my own.

I love a book that keeps you on the edge until the end and this one did just that. This is my first Izzy O Crime files book but you can bet I'll be back for more. This will be an automatic read by this author, and that's the highest praise I can personally give.

With so much on her plate Izzy is trying to juggle it all and she feels overwhelmed. It's a good thing she has her best friend, Apple, and her partners along with her dad.

As a newbie detective she gets dressed down and that puts more pressure on her but she's determined to make it through this new stage of her life and take care of her dad.

The characters are fantastic, the storyline is crazy and the bunny, Norman, is wonderful.

I received this ARC in exchange for an honest review.
