Killing Her Softly by Barb Warner Deane.
Afraid for her life after spending ten years in an abusive marriage, Kate Finelli has to find the courage to get herself out. When she calls the sheriff’s office, she hears a familiar voice—Jack, the first man to show her love. Can Kate trust him to help her get away from the long-suffering abuse?
Very surprising read. Fast paced. Wasn't sure how I felt about Kate. 3*.

This book took me by surprise. It kept me interested throughout the story and I needed to see what was going to happen. l truly enjoyed the pacing of the story and the well written characters. I would recommend this story to all suspense lovers.

Unfortunately I dint realise this was a romantic thriller - not ny bag at all. However I did read it and it was an ok read, if you enjoy more romance in your novels I'm sire you would love this as it was well written, just not for me.

Killing Her Softly by Barb Warner Deane is an exciting romance and suspense story. Kate Finelli has put up with being abused by her husband for ten years, she is finally ready to escape him. Jack, an FBI agent who is filling in for the Sheriff, receives her frantic phone call for help. Jack happens to be Kate first love, and the brother of her husband. I found this book to be an exciting quick read, reminding me of a Sandra Brown novel. I look forward to reading more books by this author. I recommend this book for anyone looking at a suspenseful romance.
I reviewed a digital arc provided by NetGalley and the publisher. Thank you.

Very predictable and slow moving.
I thought Kate/Kathy moved on really fast....way too fast given everything she had been through. Not enough time was spend with her in counseling. Things don't happen that quick nor should they.

Killing her Softly is a terrific romantic suspense. I loved the plot and enjoyed this author's writing. If you enjoy a good suspense I recommend this book to you.

I received an ARC from Netgalley. I couldn’t put this book down and read it in one night. I did think the man in the woods was someone completely different as it was just too easy to think he was the obvious choice. That was my only disappointment. I was thinking it was a family member that would have thrown everyone off. The rest of the story line was intense and a unique growing romance that was touching. I would definitely read more by this author.. 3 1/2 stars

A fast paced story that you'll get sucked into and finish fairly quickly :)
A list romance and a light suspense, this story gives you a little bit of everything for an enjoyable read.
