After a surprise inheritance, Faith Capshaw arrives at Greystone Inn in Savannah, determined to only spend a short time then return to her Corporate Law job in San Francisco. After viewing the Island and Plantation, Faith finds she wants to remain longer and renovate the home but there are sinister goings on in the area and Faith finds herself the target of random violent attacks.

The occupants of the Inn, Mae Caldwell, her two sons Alex and Caleb, Lee, Alex's former best friend and their cousin Matt all live at Greystone Inn, a lovely Bed and Breakfast and are at a loss as to why Faith is being targeted. Faith racks her memory from when she used to visit her Aunt on the Island with her Father when she was very young, only remembering small fragments, one of them being a female cousin who she would love to find, then maybe she could put the pieces of the puzzle together and find out what is really happening there.

Unfortunately, Mama Mae is constantly offering Alex to help Faith with her travel to the Island and renovating experience, it wouldn't matter so much to Faith but Alex is always rude and extremely hard to figure out, more's the pity that he is gorgeous and can't stand the sight of Faith.

Tensions are very high as more random attacks begin to occur both at the Inn and on the Island where the renovations are finally coming together. Stories are shared about Pirating and smuggling from years ago and Faith is questioning whether she should just abandon her plans and head back to San Fransisco but she has never been one to run from her problems and Alex is now becoming too important to just turn her back and run but when the attacks become more deadly something has to give.

I really liked Faith, she was a great strong female lead. And there was something very appealing about broody Alex. The plot was a little convoluted - why did we have to have drug trade and sex trafficking, and it all got resolved so quickly! And while I have no issue with sex scenes in the romances I enjoy, these sex scenes were very unappealing and not romantic at all. I got invested in Faith and Alex and wanted to see them get their HEA, but I was pretty unfulfilled by how that developed and the story ended so abruptly.

Not a very romantic romance.

She’s done it again! Vivian Wood’s ’Wild Hearts’ just sucked me in and I spent all my spare time with this book.
The story, the characters - and not only Alex and Faith - was so well described and felt alive. I wouldn’t say No to another couple of books with the other characters, Caleb, Lee, Matt and Mama Mae.
I’ve got another understanding of the south’s ma’am. 😊

I read the prequel, "Broken Dreams," before reading "Wild Hearts," so I was pretty surprised when the storylines in "Broken Dreams" were completely different than the ones laid out in "Wild Hearts." Very odd.

As for "Wild Hearts" itself, it was...okay. The writing was well done for the most part, and the main characters had some good depth to their personalities. However, the constant "ma'am" and "southern manners" thing grated my nerves after a while, and the sudden changes in character behavior were a bit rocky.

Absolutely loved this southern romance. Alex is a character... but Faith is a good match for him. Hate seeing you to I love you; with all the emotions in between.

Faith is at loose ends and not necessarily happy in her life or her job anymore. Upon finding out she has an inheritance she travels from California to Georgia. There she finds Alex, moody, broody and not ready to deal with Faith or anyone really. He puts up with her and the more they are together the more the sparks begin to fly. Excellent writing, good story building and character detailing. An easy story to read with good flow, depth and all the feels.

Wild Hearts is one of those stories that while the plot will pull you in it’s the characters who will have you staying to the end waiting for their healing and happy ending to take place. Both Faith and Alex have been wounded by life, people and events beyond their control. When Faith discovers she’s inherited an island off the Georgia coast she sets out on a trip of discovery. The last person Alex wants to be attracted to is this woman with painful eyes and a need to find something of her own. Alex knows pain, he understands betrayal, what he no longer is willing to offer is trust.

While staying at the inn, waiting to settle the estate Faith soon realizes that there are far more things she doesn’t know aside from an unknown aunt. Like secrets that someone doesn’t want told – and certainly doesn’t want her taking possession of her aunt’s property. The danger is real, and Alex is determined to protect Faith, while protecting his heart as well. Their romance is full of emotions both hidden and in plain sight, history to overcome and hope that finally they’ve found that person who gets then and their flaws, someone who accepts the whole person and wants to stay forever.

I was easily caught up in Alex and Faith’s story. This is a vivid world full of secrets and betrayals as well as love and hope for the future. The journey to their happy ending is an adventure that you will not want to miss. I’d recommend Wild Hearts to any Romance reader who likes deep characters with wounds to be dealt with, a mystery and puzzle to piece together and a love story that will touch your heart.

As a whole I did enjoy this book and the storyline between Alex and Faith. It was interesting with lots of other storylines and conflicts to make you keep reading and keep your attention. The problem I did have was that it didn't really match up with the prequel and at times i almost wished I hadn't even read that because I probably would have liked this book more. The inconsistency was sometimes hard to overlook, plus I felt at the end I was asking myself ok well what about this and what happened with that other thing. Its not a cliff hanger just some unanswered questions maybe an epilogue could fix. I decided to rate this book on the love story that evolves between Alex and Faith alone because it was brought together well in the setting it was in made it good, plus I enjoyed the other side characters as well.

A good quick read. Not real gritty, just a good romance. I enjoyed it even though I usually like a grittier book.

Highly entertaining, sweetly sexy, action packed, heart pounding danger filled romantic adventure that is both intriguing and emotionally thrilling.

Faith is sassy, sweet, independent, strong willed southern California girl who unexpectedly inherits an island off the coast of Georgia. She has a hard time settling the estate left to her thanks to some unsavory cousins she never knew about believing they should have inherited it instead of her. Alex is sexy, smart and a total broody alpha male who is so not looking for love or any kind of relationship with a woman again. His first wife was not very good at caring about her marriage vows making it hard for him to trust. Perfect late night cuddle in bed reading.

The cover drew me in, but the blurb made me want to read it. I just could not get into this story. It was well written, but I could not connect. I just was unable to get interested. Unfortunately, overall this was just an alright read for me.

Wild Hearts is a standalone contemporary romance and is the second book that I have read by Vivian Wood.

If you love Angst I think you will love this book. For me I felt it took a bit to get into it. At first I wasn’t real fond of Alex or Faith but, by the end of the book I loved them and Alex’s surrounding family, especially mama. I found myself loving the ending of Wild Hearts.

Although it took awhile to really get into this book, I did enjoy it very much, especially once Alex started lightening up on Faith and not being so angry all of the time. Loved his southern manners and his passion (once revealed)! Some of the plot seemed a bit unbelievable to me, which is fine except that it didn't blend well with the rest of the novel, but overall a romantic, steamy, and suspenseful read!

I enjoyed this book a lot but it was really hard to get into. In the beginning, it seems like the author is all over the place with character development. It gets better about a quarter of the way through, then it gets good. If you can stick with it through the world building, it is a great book.
