This book was a nice and quick read. I must admit that I was a bit worried about the claiming part because I wasn't sure whether it would be like some kind of "rape-happy-to-meet-you-despite-that" scenario which I hate but the author managed to turn a forced situation into something where I definitely could accept the chemistry that leads to the mating.

Even hormone-and instinct-driven, Carlos is honorable and kind, just the kind of alpha that a she-wolf would dream of. Sedona, being an alpha herself, is the perfect match for him.
Okay, the situation with his pack that seems to be stuck somewhere in the middle ages, well, that is a tough nut to crack especially as the council is rather creepy and ruthless - and seems to hold all the power.

There is a lot going on, the story is fast-paced but sometimes I didn't understand the motivation, at least that of the villains. Maybe that's just due to the fact that villains don't need a reason to be evil but somehow I missed that explanation. Or maybe it really is just about power and the chance to do some research?

Nevertheless, I enjoyed reading this book and will check out other books by the authors as well.

This is not the first book I've read in this standalone series. So with that being said, I can say it wasn't the best one for me. It turned out to be just an okay read. The beginning of the story definitely had me interested and I enjoyed the end. Then there were parts of the story that were too over the top, slow at times and I just couldn't connect with the characters the way I had hoped. So yes, there were things I liked and disliked about this story. There were definitely steamy sex scenes. I think if readers enjoy a story with over the top scenes and parts within a story then they will enjoy this story. It wasn't a bad read, it just wasn't what I expected from reading other books in this series by this author. However, just because this was a great read for me doesn't mean I won't read more books from this author.

When the council members of Carlos’ pack kidnaps and locks Sedona, and then him, in a cell during her mating heat and a full moon, there can only be one outcome. Carlos is furious over the actions taken against her and fights the pull he feels toward Sedona. I liked that Carlos took control of his wolf and forced himself to calm and reassure her even as they became acquainted. From the beginning he tried to protect her. Nevertheless, their passions run high and the mating takes place.

Carlos refuses to keep Sedona when none of what transpired was at her free will. With plenty of machinations by the council they struggle to find a way to make what they have work. Carlos’ actions were not quite what I expected from an alpha wolf but I totally understood why he couldn’t force himself into Sedona’s life. He knew he had to fix his pack, an impossible job, before he could ever bring her into it.

This is a fast paced book, well written and full of plenty of wolf pack dynamics, albeit unnatural ones, and some spanking, steamy scenes. The ending is a happy ever after although there is one plot line that can be picked up in the next book and I must confess I’m extremely curious to see what happens.

I enjoyed this book immensely and will definitely be checking out further books in this series.

The Bad Boy Alphas series can be read as a stand alone so don't let that stop you from picking it up if you have overlooked the prior two in this series. I am always confident with a Renee Rose novel that I will experience an erotic, paranormal, romantic and an amazing action packed novel. "A copy of this book was provided by Burning Desires via netgalley with no requirement for a review. Comments here are my honest opinion."

A big thank you to NetGalley and Burning Desire for the ARC. I voluntarily reviewed this book. This is the 3rd book in the series, but it reads really well as a stand alone. There are a lot of sex scenes. I enjoyed it. I think most paranormal romance readers will like it. Let me know if you agree.
