Fi is separated from her husband. She comes home one day to a family moving into her house! She tries to contact him (Bram), but he’s missing. This story is told from the POV of Fi and Bram, so you get their sides of the story. While the beginning and the end are satisfying, the middle of the story loses some slack. There’s a lot of secrets and betrayal to unravel. I did not find either character particularly likeable, so it’s hard to stay invested in the middle when you are not rooting for anyone. On the other hand, Bram is the most developed character and I rather liked his chapters. The writing is good and it is still a good book overall.

The book has a great beginning and ending but falls short in the middle. The book is one of deceit , scamming and a failure to trust and communicate in a marriage . None of the characters are particularly likeable so you really do not have any sympathy for them. The house and car scamming gets cumbersome to read at times. There is some humour and surprises in this book. Thanks Netgalley.

Our House grabs you from the first sentence and doesn't let go, even after it is over. Fi, a woman whose husband cheats on her, puts aside their differences for their children. She decides to house share with her husband so that the children can remain in the same house instead of going back and forth between houses. This unusual decision is difficult as it is but imagine Fi's surprise to arrive at the house for her time with the children, only to find out it has been sold to someone else without her knowledge.
As the story unravels, you begin to understand the circumstances from 3 sides, Fi's,  Bram's, and a 3rd narrative side. Just as you think you have everything figured out, another twist is revealed. The twists keep coming even at the end.
I greatly enjoyed this story. The twist at the end leaves me wanting a second book to see what happens next.  I will definitely be recommending this book to everyone.
Thank you to Netgalley and Berkeley Publishing House for allowing me to read this advanced copy. The opinions above are my honest review of the book.

This is my first book by Louise Candlish....I want sure what to expect when I started reading.....but than I got hooked!
I found the book sometimes a bit slow.....but I think that was because we were often reading the same experiences through many perspectives.....necessary to the novel. Ohhhh the ending....you think you got it until the last page!
I will look definitely look out for books by this author!!!

I thought the summary of this book sounded extremely compelling- a woman comes home to find another family moving into her house. What happened? Who are they? Where is her stuff? and all of those other questions that come to mind. In the end though, this was a very fluffy he said/ she said kind of book. A couple is going through a divorce and the narrative switches back and forth between their sides of the story. There are some interesting elements added in- blackmail, murder, poisoning, but they only serve to make the story mildly entertaining.

If you like to hear the nitty gritty details of people's break-ups, then you might really enjoy this book. But for me, it was a bit tedious to get through.

This book is well written but it just drags on and on and doesn't drawn me into the plot or the characters..

SO SO GOOD! I am a big fan of Louise Candlish from her previous works and this didn't disappoint. Top notch suspense, her usual well developed characters, and an excellently paced plot made this one a big win. I loved it!

Abraham, or Bram as he is better known by, is a cheating husband. Fiona, or Fi as she is better known by forgave him the first time, but when she catches him in their children's playhouse with someone else, she is done. Fi wants him around for the boys because he is an excellent dad, so they workout a "birdnest" custody arrangement.
This book is written in the POV of both Bram and Fi. They each tell their parts of the story. What each person did. Things happen in this book, I just did not find it very exciting. There are some unexpected twists in here, especially at the end. This book is not for me. I found it dull and uninteresting.

When Fiona returns home and sees a moving van outside her house she thinks a mistake has been made . When she gets inside and sees another couple have bought her house and are moving in she still thinks it is amostake . This novel starts out with this intriguing premise. Told between Fiona and her husband Bram the puzzle slowly takes place . Filled with twists and turns and with a modern view as we get to read comments from online community following the story .

It is a homeowner’s nightmare to come home and find another family moving into your house that was never for sale. This is the start of this marital thriller. From there, the story starts snaking through what happened from the viewpoint of both husband and wife. I felt the middle part that focused on the car could have been streamlined. At times, the story felt repetitive as obvious details were over examined. The twist ending was close to what I had guessed around 30% of the way through, and it seemed to take a long time to get there.

Our House is a gripping thriller by Louise Candlish. "On a bright January morning in the London suburbs, a family moves into the house they’ve just bought in Trinity Avenue. Nothing strange about that. Except it is your house. And you didn’t sell it." Fiona knows her marriage to Bram has problems and when she decides to separate with a modern co-parenting arrangement in which they rotate spending time at the house with the kids she has no idea just how many lies she has been told or how far-reaching the consequences may be. This is a page-turning read with amazing twists and turns... I highly recommend this to all my reader friends! I received an ARC of this book, all opinions are my own.

Our House by Louise Candlish is a superb thriller that kept me reading late into the night.

Fiona "Fi" Lawson has a typical life. Married, 2 children, beautiful home, good friends.

On no particular day, Fi returns home, only to find it's not her home any longer.
As the story unravels, you will find yourself shaking your head, talking out loud, and questioning everything you're reading.

I liked the style that this was written in, it kept the story interesting.

I will anxiously wait for the next book, since this cannot be the end for Fi and Bram.

I voluntarily read an ARC of this book provided by the publisher and NetGalley.

This was much better than I expected it to be. Lots of twists and unexpected turns. I pretty much hated the husband but really enjoyed the storyline and the ending.

Not your traditional mystery, Our House by Louise Candlish opens as Fiona returns home (early) to retrieve her work laptop. She finds another couple moving into her cherished home in a tony area of London - an area where housing prices have skyrocketed making her an equity millionaire. Currently, her living arrangements are untraditional- she shares the home with her two sons during the week, but moves out on the weekends when her estranged husband moves in. In their off times, each occupies a nearby studio flat. Now it appears the house has been sold out from under her, and the paperwork appears to be in order. The story unspools between the current few days as the move is discovered, her narration of a true crime podcast telling her story called, appropriately, "The Victim", and her husband, Bram's, typed out "Word Document" which opens explaining that it is a suicide note. Through the alternating narrations we know the basics of WHAT happened, it's the how and the why which take time to be revealed.
I found the "podcast" and "word doc" approached a bit forced and trite at some turns, but over all this was an enjoyable read and moved quickly. Some plot points were easily predicted, but there were a few surprising moves throughout. I would recommend it for fans of psychological thrillers and unique mystery story lines, especially those without much blood and violence. (there is very little here).
With thanks to Louise Candlish, the author, and netgalley.com for the Advanced Reader Copy.

I was enthralled from page one. Seriously it was that unputdownable. I couldn’t decide if Fi was a complete nutter or if her entire life had truly been turned upside down. This storyline is gripping, it’s original and oh my gosh, it’s like a bird’s eye view of watching a train wreck in slow motion. It’s completely different from anything I’ve read in a very long time.

Fiona comes home to find that a new family is moving into her beloved home. All of her family’s belongings are gone, her husband well, “ex-husband” isn’t answering his phone and her sons have been checked out of school. The new homeowners think she’s mental and they have a contract proving they have purchased this prime real estate.

The author gives a glimpse of Fiona & Bram Lawson’s early marriage and how each of their very distinct character flaws helped their marriage to disintegrate and more.

I received an advance review copy of this book from Great Thoughts Ninjas. All opinions are my own.

I have never read any of Louise Candlish's books before but I will now. I really enjoyed this book from beginning to end, the podcast chapters were different and I liked that.

Oh, Bram; what have you done? From one misdemeanor to the next, to outright criminal offences, Bram Lawson continuously makes bad decisions. His wife, Fi is left to put the pieces back together. As the always innocent, trusting soul, Fi carries on doing what is best for her family until she makes a bad decision of her own. But can you fault her for that?
This thriller had me on the edge of my seat with in-your-face plot twists. I WTF'd my way through this roller coaster tale of secrets, lies and greed.
I can't wait for this book to be available for the general public. I will definitely be suggesting it to many of our readers.
Thank you #LouiseCandlish and #Negalley

First of all, the cover is absolutely gorgeous. It has a modern Gothic feel to it with the dark, foreboding sky and the single lit window. Very eye-catching and aesthetically pleasing. This is a nicely paced novel, not as brisk as a lot of other thrillers out there, but I never felt it lagged in parts, either. The story unravels slowly, with Fi and Bram each feeding us bits and pieces in turn; Fi through her narration on "The Victim" podcast, and Bram through a Word document he's typed up on his computer. Their narrations give us a (mostly) clear picture of what happened and the motivations behind each character's actions, but Candlish makes sure to leave a few twists out until the very end. I found Bram to be the most well-drawn character. By all accounts readers should absolutely despise him; he's a coward, he's irresponsible, he's unfaithful, among many other things. Yet Candlish allows us to see other sides of him, too. She did this so well that I even found myself feeling sympathetic towards him at times. Bram reminded me that no one person is all good or all bad, and I appreciated the realistic portrayal of his character. This is my first book by Louise Candlish but I think I will have to check out her backlist!

It's a great thing Our House doesn't come out until August, because that gives Louise Candlish time to re-work the way her gripping story is framed. Remniscent of The Girl Before and The Couple Next Door, everything you think you know -- you don't. When Fiona comes home one day, she finds a couple moving into her family's home and they claim they purchased it fair and square. Candlish takes this story in three directions: what happens on that day (from Fiona and husband Bram's perspectives), a document Bram is writing detailing why all these things are happening, and Fiona explaining on a radio program what happened. It keeps readers intrigued for the most part, but the ending wasn't utterly satisfying. Try this book in a couple months and hopefully it will have all the kinks worked out!
