This was a decent story and I somewhat enjoyed both the hero and the heroine. However, nothing really stood out making it a great book.

Great read. Well written, with a great plot and characters. This is a quick read. I wish it was longer. Man is it steamy! Jag and Ava's chemistry is hot! I voluntarily read and reviewed an Advanced Reader Copy of this book from Netgalley.

This was an amazingly raw and honest short read. I love how many emotions were shown in the hour it took me to read it. I hope to read more with ava and jag.

Pixie left Jag 2 years ago with no explanation, he is left wandering what happened. Now she arrives back at his tattoo parlor as if nothing happened. While his body might want her his heart is saying danger. Pixie realize she has to tell him what happened in order for them to move forward.

Quick fast book.

This starts out really really really good... and then I got bored and it took me a long time to finish. When I did finish it, I realized I'd only had about 6 or 7 pages left to go! I honestly don't know what happened. The story starts off super hot, with some kinky fuckery that's always fun to read. There was just a point where I started to fail to keep my connection with the MCs. Maybe because of distractions. Possibly because I started questioning the failed communication between the two of them.

In the end this was an okay read, Jag and Ava are interesting characters with a lot of history that comes across well for a novella. Due to length, we don't get to dive in too deeply into their past, but the author does a good job of developing that and giving us all the information we need to know to move forward with the story. It's just that maybe this was not the right book for me a the time I read it.

There was nothing about this book that I liked except for it's 12,000 word count.

I typically shy away from novellas, but decided to give this one a chance. My advice, if the book is free and you have an hour or two with nothing to do, get it. If the book costs money though, don't bother. It's not worth it.

As the description states, the book is incredibly short. The reason I tend to shy away from these shorter books is because I never feel like there's enough time to develop the characters which was definitely the case with this one. These characters are...different; their attraction to one another is incredibly different. They have a strong history, one that has impacted who they are. There's not enough time to get into all of that and feel something for the characters and the situation they're in.

I think this story line could have had potential if the author decided to make this a full length novel. Why not write about who they were before she ran? Write about their time apart and how they both coped with that. THEN bring them back together. And how about this time they actually work through their issues rather than jumping into bed with one another first.

This book needs a warning label

I have read a few of the Dirty Bits stories and enjoyed them. This one left me scratching my head. I have to admit while this was well written, I found much of it downright offensive. There are some high reviews, and some have said they’d love this guy.

Seriously? You actually want to be treated like that?

He looks at his ex-wife with tears running down her cheeks and thinks she’s hot when she’s choking on his manhood. WHAT? And then a little later, while they are having sex, he reaches up and strangles her…. Ummm, no. Definitely not. Yes, I understand that the female lead liked it, and there are probably people in this world who are into that kind of stuff, but this was all a huge turn off for me.

Again, this is well written, and if you are turned on by getting choked by your partner, this is the book for you. I just found this EXTREMELY disturbing. I really feel this should have had a warning label on it. If I had seen that, I may have grabbed another title in the line that I would have enjoyed.

I'm a fan of this whole Dirty Bits concept and Pierced Ink is a great example for why it works - a quick, incredibly hot read that packs a punch emotionally as well. I'm amazed at how much Dani Rene was able to fit into such a short package - there were times were the pacing was a bit breakneck, but it mellowed out and made more since as the story progressed. I look forward to reading more from her, as well as more Dirty Bits pieces from other authors as well.

Pierced Ink is a short second chance erotic romance. Quick and dirty and sure to peek your interest if you like a hot read that gets straight to the point.

Avid Reader – ☆☆☆
M/F Erotic Romance

Jag and Ava have a complicated relationship. Ava ran from her relationship in the past thinking she was doing what was right. However, Jag never really got over it and when Ava shows up again, he wants her to know that he was hurt and despite the distance, he's still not over her.

Ava has to come to terms with her own choices and she seems a little lost, despite the fact that she has been able to come back and see Jag again.

These two have a strange dynamic. You can tell that they have chemistry but there is really no relationship to speak of – you have explanation and sex.

I wish that there was more development of the characters and their story. However, as a short story, it was full of steamy scenes.

Pierced Ink is a novel full of second chances, steamy romance, and drama that all takes place in a tattoo shop. This quick read will keep you on your toes has you read page after page of this steamy romantic read.

This story had a little bit of everything - erotica, second chance romance and angst. To be honest, I was kind of wishing that this would turn out to be a full-length story. That’s how much of my attention it demanded. I wanted the characters, Ava and Jag, to get more time to shine. There were hints to their volatile past together and I would have given anything to see more than a glimpse of that. While there was a happy ending, I wanted more. Okay, fine… I’m greedy. If you’re looking for a short and sweet smut-tastic read, then look no further than Pierced Ink.

Release Date: November 27, 2017

This was a very quick read. About 30 minutes. It has ten chapters. The story is about Jag who loves Ava, but she had walked out of his life two years ago and now she’s back. Hot loves scenes but wish I felt more of a connection with the characters and that there was more of a story line.

I didn't know what to expect with this books because there was no blurb, but the cover and title drew e in and grabbed my attention. This is a second chance romance. The love is still there and the connection they have. Once some truths came out, they are able to be together again and finally get their happy ending. The sex scenes are hot. This is a quick, one-sitting read. Overall, this was just an okay read for me.
I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book.

Who doesn’t love a second change romance right?! Jag is so damn sexy what’s more is that he’s pierced and owns his own tattoo shop. Ava is absolutely stunning and is just as comfortable with herself with tons of ink and piercings. Jag wants nothin to do with Ava after not seeing her for two years when she left him but who can deny the connection these two have shared. We’re given a quick read but it’s filled with the perfect about of sex and romance. Their story will leave you heartbroken and smiling. The pace is perfect and flows wonderfully, it’s a complete page-turner from the beginning until the very end.

"I need you to let me in. In your heart. In your mind. And lastly, in your beautiful body."

WOW! Sexy, short and full of hot interactions within Pierced Ink by Dani Rene. Words can't explain how much this little hot number rocked my night, but all I can say it's a must to read!!

Ava and Jag can pretty much steam up the room, your kindle, literally any scenario you conjure in your mind. Dani defiantly out did herself with the chemistry with this one, however, true to her writing skills and talent, she didn't veer off the path with the emotional, heart-bonding between the characters. Ava came back into Jag's life for a second chance, but will he let her back in after breaking his heart?! You must devour this book to find out!

This was exactly what it promised to be: a sex-filled micro-romance designed to be read in an hour or two.
I have to congratulate the author on adding enough emotion to such a short book to make me actually care about the main characters.
I loved Jag and Ava, they were unique and simply perfect for each other.
